Now completely remastered with previously unreleased bonus tracks, including the highly sought-after Concrete Cancer Demo, expanded artwork, never-before-seen photos and extended liner notes from frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich, this is the definitive edition of THE OBSESSED's Self-Titled debut, a true piece of Doom history!
Deluxe 2CD includes a bonus disc containing their highly sought-after and previously unreleased 4 track Concrete Cancer Demo from 1984 and a full live set from 1985 in Washington, D.C, both fully remastered!

Such a killer record Hail The Obsessed
One of my favourite rock albums of all time. Truly original and beautiful music.
I've listened to the original edition of this album a billion times and I can state for a fact that this reissue sounds a bit better. Not quite as much low end though, can notice a few changes. Original didn't sound bad to be honest but cool to have a nice reissue. One of my favorite albums of all time. I'll never stop listening to it. Good job relapse.

I can hear the doom element, but also the grunge thing is in there as well, similar to early soungarden, great sound.
These guys recorded it in 1985. Soundgarden came later.

The Soundgarden guys listened to the Obsessed and Saint Vitus at the time, as far as I know.

had some beers and probably a spliff behind the scenes after a life gig in Germany/ Lower Saxony with them. Still ponder why they got me there. Today I'm still alive and Wino is so, too as it seems. Giving (my) time back then it seems like a little miracle.

It would be an expensive license from Columbia / Sony, that's probably the delay.
Actually The Church Within was already reissued remastered with bonus tracks back in 2013.

The way she fly was my favorite song for a long time. I was no alcoholic, just a teenager. The song's dissonance just did it for me.

Masterpiece
The band in your avatar also created a masterpiece called Powerage. Not sure if you knew but the channel Shid Pasta just released a very rare recording of that album that was the initial release for a small amount of time. The international release is different. Imo the first printing of that album is even better. Give it a listen if you haven't bro trust me.

Aye. Forever Midnight is kinda like a Sabbath-AC/DC mixture. But they played that on their own way. I’m dealing with black metal mostly, but second big “love” is doom. This record is a pure masterpiece and that’s all i’ve got to say about that🔥☠️

yeah its more skinny than one probably thinks so thats where the confusion comes from, but its right beside the other guys leg, and in the middle its some type of skirt that he has so that adds to the visual effect
