    "The average dollar circulates 17 days within an ordinary white community before it leaves...
    ...19 days in a Jewish community...
    ...28 days in an Asian community...
    ...but 6 hours in a Black community."
    - Source unknown
    Penuel: As long as we quantify value through money, black people will look poorer.
    How many times does VALUE circulate in the black community via bartering, service, free shared knowledge, uBuntu, etc?

      A R20 that is used as taxi fair in Limpopo, Pretoria, Mahikeng, eThekwini or Voslo, for example, is going to stay in Black hands for a very long time before it makes its way to another community - I'd wager that it stays weeks before it makes its way to a bank.
      But it's worth finding out from Economists.

      great point bro, the fact that all concepts we use are western and unindegenenous, still shows just how enslaved we still are

    Should govts force ppl to get married after pregnancy & to ban porn?

    • @providetriggersforevolutio3748
      @providetriggersforevolutio3748 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think starting with primary education as a baseline or foundation vis-a-vis creating a value system that is humanely and promotes self-development /less alienating is key. Capitalism has a way of creating folks who feel much sense of alienation and nihilism leading to pregnancy in the context on non-committal relationships as well a preoccupation with porn.

    • @mothupiboikanyo4921
      @mothupiboikanyo4921 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No.
      Government needs to change the economic and social structures that create conditions in which families are broken before they have a chance.
      What I mean is that the issue of broken families, especially as it pertains to Black people, has a long documented history that starts in 1652 and has to do primarily with cheap Black labour, which continues to this day because economic opportunities are still centralized.
      There's also the issue of sex education. We still have pockets of Social conservativism so sex talk is still a fragile topic in a lot of rural (and urban) Black households - where the large majority of these problems are. This means that a lot of parents, still beholden to the crushing weight of day-to-day life in SA, farm out that responsibility to a department of basic education that has woefully failed to fulfill its mandate over the last 20 years.
      This also doesn't work because blended and other non-traditional families have become very normal.
      The reasons behind why people have families now are far removed from the purely utilitarian reasons of the past.
      Also, banning abortion in a country with so many SASSA recipients and skyrocketing unemployment is a recipe for disaster.
      Distribute quality education, health care and housing, and tax the fxck out of billionaires and corporations and we'll be on our way to progress.

      ideally if it is an african context of marriage yes, where in africa we had polygamous marriage, which our current institutions dont recognize, and besides legal structures must also be limited in terms of social laws, especially if only few people make laws that affect all of us and we have no input, starts to seem like an institution of psycological slavery.

    Should non-black Africans get a prefix? Indian-African, Chinese-African, European-African/White-African, etc? Like Black Americans or African Americans.

    • @MakotlaTau
      @MakotlaTau 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      in my perception, i would go to something you said earlier in the video about, we can only define an african using the standards of the way we were before colonization. with this in mind, anyone willing create a social state that embodies the african spirit of "ubuntu" not merely as a slogan but in practice, i believe should be considered african, right now even most of us black people, in my view are unworthy to be africans.
      with the idea of where life started, yes life started in africa but our social systems were established in different areas. and in this regard i dont have a problem with western concepts aslong as they are not imposed on african.

    To be honest the freedom we have now is hindering wit our Morals. As someone who is South African & Married to a Middle Eastern man. Like how Middle Eastern countries r. Less crimes, the ban of porn.
    They reject everything that is immoral to their society. Where is moral or criminal activities.
    As South Africans Im 40 years old & I remember a time where virginity was was celebrated. Where men protection girls & women.
    When having kids out of wed was not a norm. The r so many that US South Africans change in such as small period of time (30years).
    We need to fix us ubuntu is not longer our daily lives.

    What is the criteria to be an African? Can white people be African? Can black ppl who are based abroad and milk Africa be deemed African?

      Let’s address the reverse! What are the criteria for being a European? Can black people be European? Can Europeans who are based abroad and who milk Europe be deemed European? These same questions can be posed for a multitude of ethnic groups.

      I like Steve Biko's conception of Black.
      It's less about lineage and pigmentation, and more about recognising a shared sense of struggle against the common capitalist enemy.

    White people can be South African (Nationality) but they can't be African (racial connotations). In the same way a black person can be British but not European( connotations to mean Caucation). It's not that deep.

    Being black doesn't make someone an African, therefore being non-black doesn't exclude you from being an African. There are black people in Papua New Guinea who are as black as someone from Soweto but they are not Africans. There are black people who live in the jungle in around the globe along the equator. Black people are the original settlers on Earth. They settle in any place close to the equator because of abundance of food and good weather. That doesn't have anything to do with being African. Any human being can be an African if they want. What is so special about being an African?
