One reason the tar snakes are so slick is because of being oil based. That being one reason they are slicker in the hot summer months, although they can get you at any time of year if they are not treated with respect when riding over them.
I watched and listen to this one all the way through John lotta nice things to say. You definitely are a blessed man has to be a major difference in tire pressure like it almost being flat before I feel it. I don’t know. I’d like to know how you tune in that well but I’m glad you do because it probably keep you alive better.
Thanks, my friend, for watching the whole way through and the kind words! I got really in tune with it after my first ever service appointment. I had 23 PSI in my Vulcan 800's rear tire... and it should've been 36 PSI. My mechanic gave me the 3rd degree, and soon thereafter I got really sensitive to it. After my Vaquero accident, it's become a minor obsession, and I always have my combo gauge/compressor on my Harley.
@@RoadReality I meant you had the kind words for people out there today, you had a lot of kind words, I'm lazy when I type, you suppose to mind read me, lol...I always have kind things to day about you.
@@MotoBaumVirginia OHHHH! Gotcha! My bad. My mind reader is broken. Service Center says it'll be Tuesday of next week before they can get around to fixing it. :)
Hi John, love your videos, and your armor jacket is nice, your jacket inspired me to get my icon elbow pads out of storage, thanks for a great video as always.
I've been riding for a lot of years, I don't think I've ever had any problems riding over tar snakes. I've rode street bikes from several different brands, several different sizes, from 100CC to 1500CC. Never even given a tar snake a thought. Just ride.
stay safe out there..granted im sure you're getting some snow by now possibly.. will say those that may not know tire pressure even for trikes is a very important thing as well and just like twos can cause you to have issues while riding if its low.
We saw flurries yesterday, but nothing's gonna stick for a while. I am hoping to get out tomorrow, actually :D I don't doubt that tire pressures have an effect on trikes too - what happens when a trike's PSIs are low?
new england is nothing but tar snakes.. good luck everyone lol. I was messing with my rear tire pressures and noticed a big difference dropping the pressure down more.
Ugh, that sucks that you have so many tar snakes. I hadn't encountered ones this fresh in a long time! When you lowered your rear tire's PSI, what difference did you notice?
We got crazy tar snakes here to. I swear Iowa is the testing grounds for dot new technologies. The white tar snakes they rolled out this year are dangerous 😳 cool video John. 🍻 👏 ✌️
@@TheBlueBikeDoyle Well, forget all THAT nonsense! :D Although if I had to ride over them all the time, I'd probably get used to it [like grooved pavement].
Your ADHD keeps up with mine hehe. For me the context changes work well for my attention span hehe. Also snakes can be very evil. On hot days they get worse to me.
@@RoadReality I always get the anesthetic too, but there is still some childhood trauma induced near phobia, that keeps me very tense, through the whole process.
@@theodorstravels I'm sorry to hear that! I've had so much dental work done, good and bad, that I get very relaxed when I trust the dentist to be doing a good job. It helps when they're an expert at the injections.
I didn't record THIS one, but 3 years ago, I did... th-cam.com/video/ai4ITvTckLw/w-d-xo.html If you search my videos for "novicaine", you'll find it was a 3-parter. I only get an anesthetic in the jaw/palette, so no loopiness - just slurred speech, and not much of that, even.
Its in your head. Though i say, only hot preasure matters. Who cares abour cold, it goes away after just a couple minutes riding. There isba reason racing only measures hot pressure. But at the lace and style you ride, 5 psi either way wont matter, other a slight bit of turn in. And you are wrong. I promise yiu are not sliding at all.
@RoadReality - Deflection because the tar snakes are softer. And the reaction to the deflection causes an over correction. That is why as you say, light on the controls and it is fine.
Giving a quick thumbs up and watch before I jump in shower and bandage change. 😎👍👍
Thanks, man! I hope the bandage changes are easy, at least.
Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for visiting!
Awesome video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I try to comment on most of your videos, sometimes I think its best just to leave a thumbs up.
No shame in that! :D I appreciate you watching!

Thanks! I had a feeling they would be... dang it.
John, keep us updated. Dealing with my shoulder surgery and pain. Would rather be on my bike.
Will do! And I get it - but take the time to heal; you'll be back to riding before you know it :D
Virginia got hit pretty bad by the hurricane also.

Tar snakes don't bite 😂😂
Who wants to test that?
Tar snakes will command your attention, for sure. Ride safe.
