Hi Jamie. I am about to begin my TEFL certificate with The TEFL Academy (TTA). Your videos have answered so many of my questions and i have learned so much from you. Thank you for being a resource for anyone who is interested. Sending love from Trinidad 🇹🇹 in the Caribbean.
I'm interested in teaching in Thailand what's the relevant info please. No teaching experience. A native English speaker. And my daughter is interested in teaching English in the Philippines.
For Thailand you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in any subject and an accredited TEFL. You can look for jobs one Ajarn which is a website with job listings for Thailand.
I would also love to teach in the Philippines as I've spent substantial time over there, however it's quite competitive since the conditions are generally quite attractive for westerners. It will be very difficult for me personally as I don't have a degree or many academic contacts in the region, this is typically a requirement. It could be an option to search for an opportunity away from cities like manila, cebu and davao but be aware of scams and fraudulent opportunities
The downsides of teaching abroad or online are the uncertainty of landing a job without a damn BA degree (why it's required to teach is senseless and stupid) and the constant 'hunt' for students. It's like marketing which can be so nerve-racking and a waste of time. There's no guarantee of a stable income. Top this with AI and soon ESL jobs will be extinct..

Hello, I am Mr. Hossam from Syria. I am TEFL's teacher. I didn't teach abroad but the idea was in my mind. Nice to meet you.
Greetings from the MRT in Taipei, Taiwan 🇹🇼 during the replay
