And pop rap is rap. It’s in the name. We’re in a day and age where genres are expanding and being more versatile, so for me, if someone raps a whole lot on a track, it don’t matter how the beat sounds, it’s still rap
I actually really loved Scarlet, & the deluxe made the project even better. Doja’s an artist who, IMO, has got the talent. She’s definitely a better choice than some of the other contenders in female rap right now. Regardless of what she does next, I’ll be tuning in. Because the thing she’s proven is that: she can make a pretty good album & that she’s got the talent.
I agree I definitely have more respect for her after scarlet I do love her other projects but I feel like after scarlet we are gonna get better and more mature music and I can’t wait for it.
scarlet, scarlet 2 to be exact, is her magnum opus. i love being a fan of hers, never know what direction she’s going in next. i do hate that the majority of her fans clearly aren’t rap fans and only want her to do pop. it’s so lame, limits her creativity and since people are so chart obsessed they’re only focused on that instead of the art. i hope she knows there’s some of us who genuinely fuck with her as a whole, she has a fan for life right here
Scarlet 2 is absolutely amazing. It’s a side of Doja I didn’t know I needed ✊🏼 people are sleeping on rap Doja, which is such a shame. I agree with everything you said.
I like doja (minus her social media antics) but I feel like people don’t actually care about her as a rap artist and mostly like her for her more pop sound. I mean even in scarlet( which is supposed to be her serious rap album) the 2 songs that did well in the album and charted are either just straight up pop (agora hills) or pop rap (paint the town red). And I’m saying this as someone who actually preferred the rap songs over the pop-ish songs on scarlet
Doja cat is an underrated talent despite of how popular she is. A lot of her fans and haters are pop fans and they don’t appreciate an artist who is unique. They will label her a copy cat or a devil worshipper just to disrespect the effort she puts in to making music because she loves it and for her fans. She tells people multiple times in the music she doesn’t hate her fans but you can’t love someone who you don’t know. I think it’s a 50/50 relationship. We give her money by going to her concerts and streaming and she benefits us by giving us music that sounds amazing. She never sold her soul because she puts it in her art. She can out rap most of mainstream hip hop artist out here from the 2020s decade. When people get over the fact that she is not the same rapper she was 2 years ago then she well become even more of a star than she already is. She is the best performing rapper of the 2010s through 2020s and nobody can tell me otherwise. Keep making great videos 93hendrix. I think her next era should definitely be rap. Pharell, 21 savage, Tyler the creator, or even Ariana grande could collaborate with her. If doechii or playboi carti made a joint project with her. That would win a Grammy.
I love her attitude and honesty. She respects what she really wants to create and makes it real even if she know she's gonna lose views. But she knows these views aren't for her, but for the mediocre pop she used to make for the masses. People fall for the chart music fast, and lose interest as fast. She just wants to create her own art and she had to show her rebelious side to make it!
If she tried to fit a specific genre it would be boring. Her best music is what she makes on live that just comes about through whatever she's feeling. And she should not try to prove anything to anyone this time.
I don’t comment often but im tired of hearing this “demonic” stuff. It was a metaphor that seems to have gone over so many people’s heads it’s mind blowing to even think yall are fans of Hip Hop or any art form. She’s fighting her demons, she’s getting her demons off her chest. “How my demons look” is saying how do I look now that I’m free from them (you/crazed fans/those trying to control her) like my goodness yall slow. You guys have been deprived of art for so long that you forgot what it looks like. Ever heard of symbolisms! Now go back and listen again and bow the to true Queen of (Mainstream) Rap. And no Im not a stan, far from it but I am one for great music.
Doja cat is in London recording a masterpiece while being in love it’s gonna be a planet her scarlet mix
My 2 favorite doja albums other than hot pink and amala

I wouldn't mind if she did a Rock Album. She's seems to utilize rock bands in her live sets.

Honestly it’s cuz it fits her
Agora hills is not straight up pop though, it’s R&B, Rap/Hip Hop and Pop
She needs to stick with Rap. She's really good at that.
hot pink doja cat was the apex and I miss her so bad
I definitely prefer her more pop sound on "Planet Her" (one of my favorite rap albums), so I hope she revisits that sound again.
Don't u mean pop rap album. It was good but wasn't a rap album
My favorite era was probably Planet Her and Scarlet!!! But there generally all so good!
Apparently dc5 is a mix of scarlet and planet her

Feel like shes gonna do a complete 180 and go back to pop. Or shes gonna get into rock
I hope she does Rock. And then move on to another genre
Definitely planet her but I listened to her earlier work and I fell in love with her
I will always be in the Purr!/Amala Era 💕

dona has always stated that she’s a rapper first so i don’t think she’ll ever turn full on rnb
i honestly liked planet her the best. it had a doja vibe to it.

Planet Her Doja >

I hope her next album is a mixture of Planet Her & Scarlet. I love both of them.
1.Her doing pure rnb/pop singing would be good. 2.Sometimes she's not bashing fans; she's trolling entitled controlling stans
best female rapper imo
Doja cat planet her ear was the best tho🤧
I think it gonna be African Era
She eats in any genres
I guess it’s coming in October according to the Airbnb thing she is doing.
