    I was there during August of 1980 during my first odyssey of America. Prescott is a wonderful experience, real western America. We used the Greyhound 'Ameripass' to circumnavigate the entire country. I have now covered 32 states. The Palace bar on a Saturday night was wild, edgy, tremendous fun. They removed long arms upon arrival, short arms were checked for ammunition and returned . I can never forget this place even after 44 years.

    I live in Tucson and I'm starting to look at places to retire or at least semi-retire in AZ to ride my motorcycle, fish and get out of the heat and Prescott/Prescott Valley looks pretty good to me.

    It is beautiful here, with a lot of things to do and see. I am glad I picked this area to retire. Motorcycling here is great as well, be it dirt or paved roads. It's very safe and clean as well. You don't see graffiti. The air is very clear and clean. Lots of golfing opportunities as well. Many parks and lakes. Hiking trails are everywhere. Not too hot either as the elevation takes care of that.

      I have never encountered a bear, but there are bear in this area. I don't know if there is a bear season but seems like it would be easy find with Google. We had a man get killed by a bear 15 miles from my house last June. He was building a cabin in the mountains among the trees drinking coffee and a bear came around the house and attacked. I think it was the first bear killing in the state in the last 40 years. I have never heard of a hiker getting attacked. I always carry a handgun with me when I do out in the wilds. You don't need a permit to carry open or concealed. @@kanthanitnok1117

    There is a water crisis, the pronghorn are being rounded up and removed to make room for more developers. All the grassy hills are slated for development and they want to make Prescott, Prescott valley and Chino Valley into one giant Mega city that will be the biggest in North Arizona. There is great difficulty finding doctors and the traffic sucks. I know because I live here.

    Following the discovery by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) of two PFAS chemicals, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in two City wells in the airport area in early July, which were immediately turned off, the City requested that ADEQ sample the additional City production wells located in Chino Valley. At the same time, the City employed an independent lab to test all City water production wells. Those results have come back, resulting in barely detectable levels of PFOA in three of four operational Chino Valley wells and detectable levels of PFOS and PFOA in Airport Well No. 5. PFAS were not detected in Chino Valley Well No. 4, Airport Well No. 2, and Airport Well No. 3. Consequently, Airport Well No. 5 will remain off-line. Since Airport Well No. 3 came back as non-detectable for the chemicals, it will be placed back into service.
    Since PFAS were detected for the first time in 3 of 4 Chino Valley wells, City staff will make operational changes to minimize levels of PFAS in city potable water supplies by turning off Well Nos. 3 and 5 and blending water from Well Nos. 2 and 4 before sending it to customers. It is expected that this blending plan will result in non-detectable levels of PFAS in city potable water supplies. Source

    😴Nice, but it cant beat California beaches

    • @JS3music
      @JS3music 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      yeah...california beaches....lets see, my good freind says their constantly closing the beaches all over san diego due to pollution, he got a sever ear infection and lost his hearing in one due to. and also the japanese nuclear meltdown right across the ocean has been dumping around 200 tons of nuclear waste into the ocean each day as they cant figure out how to shut it down bc it is a hot zone. that waste from the still active coils in the plant is leaking out into and around all the ocean on the west coast. look it up. if you think those beaches are nice....you have go to be blind.. i wouldnt even eat seafood from that coast as they already are putting pictures out of deformed large fish from the nuclear crud spilling out on a daily basis....good luck w all that

      I live in Carlsbad, in the last 20 years this place has become 100% Orange County. The traffic, the crowds, and the quality of life has gone downhill for sure. You can't even surf without 20 people on every peak!!! It's still better than anywhere else in CA, but give it 5 more years and this place is going to look and feel like L.A. I'm moving to AZ ASAP!!! And I'm not a libtard, I have plenty of guns I am bringing with me!!!

      SofaKingStoked !!! Then dude when you get there we should hang haha. I'm moving back to prescott for same reasons on easst coast. Population explosion and all the downward spiraling of western civilization that comes w it. I surf too. Last clean beaches left are like handful of east coast breaks.

      Lived in California all my life and plan on moving to Arizona because California is just a polluted state. Not a place for my kids to grow up at. I'll take a place like Arizona over California anytime. Even Venice Beach is too depressing to look at, anyone saying otherwise is camoflauge with the trashy stage its in.
