    She's a great example of a woman who everyone says is dumb but is super smart, is genuinely a good person who's been through some really messed up stuff and also just so happens to be very comfortable with her sexuality, and I'm all about it! 😍

      @@TWORARETWOSPARE isn't Lola the cutest?? I don't mean that in any patronizing or condescending way. I instantly have nothing but mad respect for Lola. I LOVE that name & I love SAYING that name. so I'll start with:
      #1) Her NAME: Lola! ❤.
      Whether it was given, or she
      changed it to Lola, that's entirely irrelevant to me. She gets major props for having the name "LOLA!" 👏
      #2) The HAT! That particular hat she's wearing in her thumbnail is FABULOUS!.
      3rd: She still calls it: "The Press"
      🥰❤ (That one really requires ZERO explanation. That word use, which gives away her senior QUEEN status, speaks for itself).
      I bet she almost always has warm cookies she made from scratch, fresh out of the oven, eager to serve anyone & everyone.
      AAAND I double/Triple bet that she has NEVER said an unkind word to, or about, ANYONE in her entire life!

      She said it well, "it's common sense". That was what I was thinking when all that came out. It was a question of how far did they want to go to further their career. All those actresses knew what kind of men those were. I'm glad they stopped it, because women shouldn't have to lay with a man to get a job. Pamela didn't give in and her career didn't go far. But she has self respect and that to me is better than money. And everyone still knows her so she did good regardless.

      Yes, her judgment of situations and men over the last 4 decades has just been impeccable. Get real. I actually really like, if not love, Pamela Anderson, but her laughing at the thought of doing things other women may have regretfully done, and with an air of superiority in speaking about what is "common sense" to do or refuse to do to make good decisions when interacting with men, was Pam low-key, if not high-key, victim shaming, and I'm sorry, but shame on Pam for that. Of all women, Pamela Anderson is not one to have firm standing in the arena of even coming close to shaming other women for making poor decisions regarding men, and to even try to justify using an incredulous tone and sarcastic laugh when speaking of women who have failed to exercise "common sense" with regard to poor choices involving men??? Her??? Pamela Anderson???? Come on. Honestly, please... Pam doing so is actually more laughable than any possible poor decision any victim of sexual abuse or assault in Hollywood may have made. Talk about pushing the envelope, which Pam loves to do of course, but why Pam would rightfully lose credibility on such topics when she has so rightfully earned credibility regarding so many others. That is not "common sense" to me at least. Js...

      She has a preference for musicians not movie execs. Although that speaks volumes that she was more afraid of movie execs than musicians. Seems there’s more stories coming out about Hollywood sexûäl abuse than in the music industry.

    I relate to her way of thinking. Has someone that has survived an assault I feel like I did things that could have been avoided and people keep telling me that I'm victim blaming myself our victim shaming myself but I'm really not there were things that I should have been smarter about during that situation that I can learn and grow from

      That's because no one should expect to be assaulted. It's not an automatic consequence for doing something stupid. This line of thinking takes accountability off the ones who actually do the assaulting. Like yeah maybe a girl shouldn't have gotten drunk around people they don't know but they shouldn't be r*pists more.

    • @thang92
      @thang92 ปีที่แล้ว

    My own father would drop me off at strange men's apartments at 14 for "photoshoots". He taught me that thinking a man will assault you while alone is misandry. Eventually I thought assault was normal, an unspoken rule of being female. This common sense isn't so common. Of course bad stuff happened. But even in my 20s I'd go up to a strangers apartment to buy weed and realize while there how dangerous it was. Nothing happened as an adult but I still would end up in that situation from time to time because you can't always plan to have someone there and some women are loners.

I had a similar situation and wasn’t even an actress but I went for an interview to be a property manager and assistant to a Hollywood studios in Miami I didn’t have a car and always went with a friend or boyfriend and that saved me once the old creep tried to put the moves on me all I said was my bf is outside and was immediately able to get out of there before anything happened but it was a studio not a hotel still it’s great we are having a dialogue about this to warn women and share advice and wisdom.

    When you have been sexually abused, "owning" your sexuality shows up differently depending on who you are and how you view that. For her, maybe it was posing nude for Playboy over and over. Maybe for someone else it's keeping your body to yourself and not sharing it with the world. Everyone who has been sexually abused (myself included) handles that horror in their own way...the way that feels right for them and makes them feel safe.

      I think it also depends where someone was in their development. Personally I was too young to know what was happening and what behavior was appropriate and what wasn't to the point where I swing like a pendulum from one end of the spectrum to the other. And also was always told there was absolutely no way I was ever abused because of that. There's no way one person can judge what another person's trauma response should be.

When other girls told me about there first kiss I had to hide the fact that I had already been molested at a young age. It really stresses you out and makes you view yourself differently. If you’re implying that she slept with Hefner to get on the cover of Playboy, that is ludicrous. Being the icon she is, she was helping Playboy’s sales. I’m sure it was a privilege on the part of the magazine to have her on its cover 14 times. That said, Pamela didn’t have to sleep with, or tolerate sexual harassment from Hef or anyone else

      Just the other day I heard a male show host talk casually about how he had his job interview with a major TV network in a hotel room. It was a perfectly legit interview and landed him a spot on a big time network. I understand Pam's advice and that we all should be careful--at the same time, when you're struggling to make it in the business and a reputable big name calls you for an interview, the instinct would likely be to go. It's kind of like telling a poor, hungry person not to take a night shift at a job because of the number of attacks that take place at night. Then the victim feels so guilty that they don't report, and the perp just finds another victim. I understand her advice, but still--the attack is 100 percent the fault of the assailant

    • @cozettem8226
      @cozettem8226 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Megan Hussey I agree it’s not the victim’s fault they get sexually assaulted even if they don’t use common sense, but they still should bring a man with them to at least wait outside the door during a hotel interview. I would ask if the interview could take place in a public room not a private hotel retook with a bed, etc.
