Thanks for this! I lived on Vedder Mtn Road, just past the Vedder Crossing Bridge, until last December, so it's great to get some news and visuals of this area. That's definitely the higest I've ever seen the Vedder River. Good luck to everyone in the area!! (I tried to take some food to Yarrow, but the shelves were pretty empty in Coquitlam. Will try again tomorrow).

I used to live in Chilliwack, but my family and I moved back to Alberta January 2021. No word of a lie in 2019 I started crying to my husband that there was going to be a huge flood. One day I get a call from my mom (she's in Chilliwack still) telling me to watch the news and that she was okay. I was so shocked..

In Peterborough Ontario we got over 400 mm in just over an hour. the kiddie pool in the parking lot was empty the day before and its about 2 meters wide by just over 40 cm deep and was empty. That pool was level with the top so god only knows how much rain we actually got. They were saying 480 mm in the north west end of the city. But it didn't rain everywhere and went through Lindsay about 20 minutes before then stalled over Peterborough. They were playing songs like New Orleans is sinking, smoke on the water, and a lot more.

I would never compare any of this flooding. Just to say it can happen anywhere. The problem is when a system stalls and delivers its moisture all at once and all in one place. the problem out in BC is the mountains. Systems are funneled into the river basin and then hit the mountains. same dam effect unfortunately.

The rains are returning to fill up the rivers and lakes once again as they’ve done so many times in the past. Its been so long that people have built their homes to close to rivers and on flood plains.

I’m one of many like yourself who was effected by this event. I unfortunately was stuck for a week between two mudslides on Hwy 3 in sunshine valley which is 15 mins east of Hope. The highway either going east or west is considered for us who live here as an emergency exit . Thankfully we were all safe and no emergencies occurred but seeing the aftermath of the mudslide was an awakening of what climate change can do.

@@jamieingels1190 I live in Rosedale, which is eastern Chilliack. We are getting 3 more atmospheric rivers this weekend (Nov 26 / 27 / 28, 2021) and while they shouldn't be as bad as they were a few weeks ago, we still haven't recovered from THAT one ... so more rain is definitely NOT welcome news. The good news is, the Sumas Prairie which was hit the hardest is recovering and they will hopefully have Hwy 1 between Chilliwack and Abbotsford reopening thie evening (Nov 24). The Atkinson Rd dike has been repaired and the Barrowtown Pump station has been saved and is pumping out something like 7 million gallons of water per minute with the flood gates open to the Fraser River. At one point, Chilliwack was cut off from ALL access to Canada (east or west) with no way to get supplies into this town of over 100,000. Farmer on the Sumas Prairie lost over 100,000 chickens and over 500 heads of cattle. I have lived in the lower Mainland for over 55 years and can't remember it this bad. There was a bad flood in Chilliwack in 1948. I drive over the Vedder Canal 10 times a week and even in spring runoff. I have never seen the canal THAT high!

That water sure looks Chilli and Wacky.Looks desperate to find it’s level.Gravity doesn’t seem to help much.Is the water going up around the spinning sphere,or down around.Hope it doesn’t end up or down here in Monckton New Brunswick.Cuz we’re not better equipped to control it than you guys are .Hope it finds a calm place to rest. Not sure how it can do that on a ball spinning at 1000 miles per hour rocketing through infinite space at 666 thousand miles per hour.Maybe the magic of the theory of gravity.can help Just wish it wouldn’t pull so hard sideways on the BC waters when it’s already on the ground .Our theory of gravity over here ,under here ? Is quite weak when it’s pulling down on the gigantic clouds that surely weigh hundreds of billions of tons. The best that that magical theory can achieve is pulling a small amount of it before it flees to BC .I don’t want to wish that our theory of gravity here in Monckton was as strong as around the Fraser Valley,by the sounds of it,asI’m careful of what I wish for. You guys need to get tons of big bulldozers and flatten the Blackface aka Trudys Rockies a big bit .That should help calm the waters a bit.I wish I could help.I use the laws of nature to my advantage instead of fighting them like Einstein did with Sumas Lake.Keep bowing down to those clowns .Like DJT I worship Mighty GOD. Good Luck and please keep your geniuses over, under ,there. Thanks Joseph
