Hey Baz, I normally watch videos of people trying to get things running on the back of their truck so they can drive them off ? lol. Brill vid mate, very informal, loved the trick of cutting that board drilling it so the solder can connect both sides of the board and then adding another connector.. Just subscribed and all the from the UK.

I have the 68 Rowe MM2. Having trouble with the loading arm dropping the record when returning to the cassette. It does it when the arm is on the left side to return the record. Right side is fine. Is there an adjustment or tweak for this? Does the arm need replaces? Thank for your help.

      Hi,
The repair of this unit was a customer's request. I don't normally do these in my line of repairs so not familiar with other unit faults. Sorry, can't help with your question but maybe some of my subscribers could shed some light on this for you. Any ideas guys ?
      Cheers, Baz

Great video. I have the same jukebox but if does not always play the chosen letter/number selection. Any idea what may be causing this ? Thanks! Love watching you troubleshoot and fix this machine!

Hi Michael, Glad you enjoyed my video. There are lots of causes for the unit not selecting the right record. I have found mostly sticky levers & solenoids, the old grease had gone hard etc. Timing on the rear selector PCB is also fairly critical, align as per the manual & you should be able to get it spot on.
Anyone else on the channel have further thoughts on this one ?
      Cheers
      Baz

Hi, do you know were I can find the measures of the cabinet, I've been looking for 5 years to restore my father's one (passed away in 99 and wanted to have it ready for his 75th birthday commemoration), I was completely destroyed by thermites, sent it to a repair shop which never got it back to me :-( I hope you are able to help me.

Hi, I can't help you with this one. It was a customers unit to repair & unfortunately has long gone sorry.

Hello there, I have that same jukebox and the Quarters aren't doing anything but getting stuck. I'm able to push the coin return to get the quarter out but I don't see in the fixture what is stopping them? The carousel works, lights everything else but not the money/selection buttons. Any idea?

      Hi,
I am not really familiar with these machines. This one I repaired was a customers unit so only dealt with its problems.
Anyone else out there able to help with this coin problem ?
      Baz

Thanks for the video. I have worked on juke boxes a little bit, and have owned a few. A friend has acquired an MM1 which has the same selector problem. Possibly damaged in moving to his house, I wasn't involved at all. I am hoping it is a loose connector at that scan unit, possibly jostled loose.

My JAL 200 got a burn spot on the pcb and would only select letter A after that. I also hate the way those 60s AMI s slammed the record down. My D80 puts them down nice and smooth.

    • @techobaz55
      @techobaz55  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul,
I know nothing vabout JAL's, maybe get someone like JLC PCB to make another board ?
AMI certainly slams the record down, no doubt about that !
      Cheers

@@techobaz55 i think that over the years those nylon gears in the gripper mech got too much play in them and thats why they slam down like that. My JAL did that too. The older AMIs had cast aluminum gears and set down nice and easy.
