They are/were the most talented 3 men when it comes to singing and songwriting that the modern era has ever seen. To think they can’t read or write music, other then create it, in itself is a testament that no other performer/S can put on their resume. They are simply musical geniuses. I challenge anyone, whether they like their music or not to disagree. To hold the records and awards that they hold both collectively and as individuals is nothing short of pure greatness. What an astonishment, particularly in the music business. And to think that Barry is still making number one’s in his ‘70’s, is amazing. It’s just so sad that tragedy has struck this family in the way that it has. Keep the legacy going Barry, heaven only knows that you and your late brothers more than deserve it.

@@BGWhisperer Yes, to a certain extent, I agree. But Andy was at Robin's to finish writing & recording an album, because it was close to Island Records in London. That's the ONLY reason he was there, as no record labels in the US would sign him. And he didn't start drinking until he developed writers block, after telling Robin & their mom he was struggling. He was there for over a month before he started drinking, which is what he ended up turning to. He had a good start after writing and recording 4 songs with Barry & Mo in Miami. And Robin knew that's EXACTLY why Andy was there, as he certainly wasn't there to visit or sightsee. Especially when he would've rather gone back to Miami after the holidays with Barry & Mo, but he knew he had to stay close to Island Records. The interviewer was nice. He made sure the attention was spread as equally as possible between the brothers. What’s also sad is Barry you can tell especially was trying to hold back as much utter sorrow while talking about Andy. Barry’s made it clear that he was the brother he vibed with the best was Andy. And Andy as a musician basically idolized Barry. He probably knew it too and it fed their brotherly love for one another. I can’t even imagine the pain he’s going through right now being the eldest and the only one still alive and strong. He seems to have truly loved his brothers so much through it all and that’s probably what pains him even more right now. Bless him and RIP to the other three brothers. Now Maurice and Robin are spending eternity hangin out with Andy.
None of them were getting on with Andy. Think Mo's was over the groups business decisions & Robin's affair, as he finally confessed to Mo about it in 2001. Apparently Mo & Barry both felt differently about it, being Claire was half Robin's age. And Robin screwed himself when he rewrote & recorded Andy's Memorial Song (Wish You Were Here), without Barry & Mo knowing. He knew it was wrong, which is why he never asked them. He removed the sound of carousels at the beginning (Andy loved carousels!) & changed the lyrics, which Barry was devastated over when he found out what he'd done, which wasn't until 2 wks after Mo died.

You must not have heard about Robin Gibb tracing their ancestry back to Scotland. They sometimes (at family gatherings like weddings) wear their Kilts. They've embraced it; as Barry embraces his former Miss Edinburgh wife....
NONE of these nationalistic labels can contain them. They are for everyman everywhere. They have captured the human ecstasy, agony, grief and celebration and dug deep into our psyches beyond labels. I ah-dore them and only wish I was astute enough in those years to have attended their concerts. They beckon to me still, and when Barry publishes his next tour, I think I will travel just about anywhere to attend it. It will be one of the highlights of my life. Magnificent beings all.
Baz and Mo will claim Oz as home when they're there but Rob has never claimed Oz as home. He didn't even claim the U.S. as home. None of them has ever gone back to live, not even a vacation home. But they have/had homes in England, and of course England was Rob's primary home.

I've said for years that Barry fans = Robin fans, simple algebraic equation. Maybe one day I'll find my rose colored glasses and join the rest of the fanatics. Till then, Mic Drop! Kitty Out!
@@kl3620 To set records straight I was a Bee Gees fan in the late '60s-early '70s period. As for "newfound fans", I bet Barry , and Robin's & Maurice's Estate don't despise them at all! I would be thrilled to learn that my late husband/father still inspire people 15-6 years on from his death. As for the "biography I'm reading"...there's no better one than videos & pictures. They don't lie.
Louisa Ti Yeah, I know you told you were a fan for a while. Of course their estates and Baz would welcome new fans, no one said they didn't. If this is what you got from my post, well, sorry, I didn't study psychology. Anyway, happy YTbing. Good day!

Aussies will try and claim anyone............ sorry to break this to you but they are English......
They are Scotsmen!
how do you work that out? ha... well they are British so what's mine is yours..... right?.....
