Better create a new layer and hide it...

This is actually better and allows for better grouping as well. thanks for the tip :)

why so many downvotes? It shows how you can save a selection as a single file. And this helped me. (but I admin I just watched the first 20 seconds ;)

guys the problem I found is that only PNG format allows transparent background and not JPEG hope it helps, I noticed it works like that for me

Five years later and there is STILL NO EASY way to do this. It's hidden underneath so many steps. and Still no way to save your file selection with another name. Absurd!

Horrible workaround. Inkscape has this feature built-in. I think Adobe have just gotten lazy because they are the market leader.

Don't know why so many 👎 pressed..
Very well described, may be I'm not so educated that is why I feel this better than other "pro" youtubers.

      Because:
      1. there are better solutions
      2. We just want a straight forward answer.
      3. I am not going to waste 4 minutes of my time to seeing a stupid wierd 3d lady tutorial

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. As you can see, the tutorial was made 5 years ago. At that time (most likely), there was no straightforward solution to export particular object from an artboard. One year later, I recreated this tutorial. th-cam.com/video/ryR71xHI_kk/w-d-xo.html Later on Adobe added dedicated option to export any object.

Inkscape is far better than illustrator after paying so much of money you cant even export selected object in it.

Better use artboards then export selected one

The best way is to convert to svg and then use inkscape.. Inkscape is way easier and better than illustrator

SOLUTION: Just put object on a new layer and hide the rest.
I don't get these huge waste of times tutorials. Terribly made!

@@XyzTutorialsforyou because we need straight forward solutions and not long videos to say what can be said in 30 seconds. No offense.

Dear. Different people have different opinions. We can't say that "it is not good", inseat we should say, "in my opinion, it is not good".
