Home to self taught interior designer Daphney Ho, this 48sqm apartment's diamond-shaped layout has been expertly maximized with sliding doors through-out; alongside arches and curves that soften its irregular shape.
that peg board is so smart!
I'd rather not; it'd be difficult to clean especially when my country has creepy crawlies
I like it. Being in earthquake country I wouldn't be able to use shelves on it, but maybe small boxes to hold catch-all items.
@@sg5sdyou are right
This is still my favourite of all the NTS apartments. It's worthwhile watching the original video.
Love the way she’s organized this tiny space!!
THIS IS SO FUNCTIONAL AND PLEASANT TO LOOK AT
Is there more to this video? I’d like to see the remainder of the dwelling.
Hi Julie , you can watch the full video here th-cam.com/video/5pvNYrOUTtM/w-d-xo.html 🥰

@@nevertoosmall thank you for pointing me in the right direction. This is such an interesting and clever use of space.
Love the bathroom and sliding doors. This was well laid out.
Where did you see that?
@@hissonshinegirl :)) Dans une autre vidéo sur sa chaîne 🍀🇫🇷💙🇺🇦
I like the design you created. I also like your fashion presentation as well.
I'd keep tripping over that step but I absolutely need it.
I love the peg board idea.
Love the peg board idea!
I love this peg board idea!!
appreciate youre self taught
Nice👍🏼 I love the design esp. the foyer area🤩, very common in Japan & Korea homes but hardly seen in Singapore, may be a great idea💡which can be taken into consideration😅😂
love the inset foyer idea! did she lower the floor or did the apartment already come like that?? very interested to know!
I'm loving some of these ideas😍
I would like a full house tour of this one 😊
BRILLIANT and beautiful 😻
I love this! I would have to learn how to open the door gently and not slam the wall tho lol
Love the ideas!
It’s not Japanese but it’s Asian culture to leave shoes outside ! There is science behind it
So the Scandinavians, the Polish a.s.o imported this custom from Asia? Naaah. Some cultures just take cleanliness more seriously than others, that's all. Or maybe it's a weather thing... 🤔
Slovakia is the same, not many people wear shoes inside. We’re forced to wear sandals by our mothers 🤪
It's not Asian culture, Austrians, Germans, and Swiss do exactly the same. Rain and snow are not brought into the home with grubby shoes.
its def different for east asian cultures because of the traditional floor centric architecture. u eat on the floor, u sleep on the floor, etc. which provides even more reasoning to not wearing shoes inside.
Same in Scandinavia, we also wash our hands coming inside.
Such good idea’s 👏🏻. I’d love a genkan but all my floors are level and I’m not allowed to raise them.
Also scandinavian no-shoes inside standard❤
I love it! Fabulous! 😊
Hi, where can we see a tour of the whole house? 🙏
Pegboard gave me a great idea for adding hooks for stuff
Full house tour please
That plant is darling .
Those pants are life❤
That's a smart idea. thank you :)!
So higienic!
Who would think to have shoe storage and pegs by a door. You are a true genius 😂🤣😂
So nice!
Pegboard makesthe placelook like a carpenter closet.
I like it. Makes sense..
Id love to see the grocery trolley. It folds up small.
Shorts need a link to the full vid imo
Very nice 💜

I’m pretty the Japanese weren’t the first people to think, “Hey, maybe I shouldn’t bring in dirt in my living space”.
Who said they were first
I was hoping id find one of these videos that was the size of my apartment 😂
I watch TH-cam small apartment makeovers all the time and even tiny house videos can give you great ideas.
I love this!!!
Maybe paint the pegboard the same color as the door for better eye flow…
Beautiful
Lovely!!😊
Not wearing shoes inside is used all over the world, I’m Finnish and it’s customary, we also have shoe cleaners outside. I’m Finnish but live in America and visited Finland with my grandpa who immigrated from there
That pointy edge over there is defo going to hurt you occasionally when you bump your foot or leg into it. But other than that I like!
Put some wallpaper on the pegboard then poke the holes again it will look pretty
I really like this idea! ❤️ It would look so much better than just a pegboard. 😃
@@barbanderson2422 😊😊🙌
We also take our shoes off in the nordic countries for the same reason. We also have designated areas for shoes by the entrance.
we do it as well in eastern Slavic houses!
Love the shoe storage. I don’t wear shoes in my home.
I like your bag where did u buy dat
Indian culture also leave foot wear outside clean feet with water and enter the house
i want some more
We dont wear shoes inside in Scandinavia either unless it's a dinnerparty and you bring shoes.
Love this❤
You need to be very careful opening that door. Better to put a sign outside. Or you will just smash board or door.
Where did the shoe cabinet come from?
exquisite!
I've thought about doing something similar, but for our baby stroller (foldable), and accessories.
we called it genkan
What you mean with Japanese is actually entire Asian continent 😅
AND Scandinavia lol
More like, most of the world
Looks like the peg board in my workshop.
Austrians and Germans do the same. It's not a Japanese idea only. When there is rain and snow you dont walk into your home in your grubby shoes.
I actually did screenshot shot of this part of the house bec its really me and my culture Philippines . #nevertoosmall
Almost all asian houses have this recess entrance were shoes are kelp...its not exclusive in japan... Philippines also practice it
What's with the loop?
That'sit?
Literally mw 5 seconds ago
I’m self taught also
I would have. pull down screen to block the view of the utility peg board.
God Idea! I don't like to bring the shoes inside at home too.
I hope people will stop using the term interior designer to themselves when they don't have the degree and are not licensed interior designers. People who don't have the degree and are not licensed are called interior 'decorators' instead. Such a disrespect to those people who actually studied the degree worked hard to have their license.
*before you come at me, I am an interior design student myself and we are taught not to call ourselves interior designers yet because we don't have the degree and are not licensed as it is illegal to use. Even if we graduate as long as we are not yet licensed we can't use the title interior designer.
What’s the designers name?
Nice
I need a genkan… even I am not japanese
Brilliant.
How do I find this grocery trolley?
very nice
In India, we keep the shoe rack outside the door as if you enter with your shoes you are bringing some dirt inside anyways
Yes i love japanize
Clutter all around nice of you to not hide it in a closet
What episode is this? I think I missed it😅
th-cam.com/video/5pvNYrOUTtM/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/5pvNYrOUTtM/w-d-xo.html i think this one?
Yeah i dont play about no shoes in my house
The sharp corner of the sofa/bed gives my clumsy self anxiety.
A cupboard behind the door would be better. The peg board is ugly.
I'd paint the pegboard an adobe color
Miss the idea of shoes off remove is an asian idea more perfectly. Because in india we also do the same😊
How to be a self taught interior designer? Where/what to begin with? What ti read? Really asking here
Just start taking classes online that teach interior design or watch on TH-cam and try learning which goes where and how to make different colors blend in together. Which furnitures are going to set in the room? What style are you going for modern or simple modern or contemporary modern or cozy or nature and many more ( adjust to your style of liking). Knowing color theory is important. The Principles of Elements and Design is very important are you going to add 3d stuff in your room to make it stand out or make one thing from your room to stand out. There is more but I’d rather want you to do research on it first and if you really enjoy it then go for it.
@@Hihize-roseI think it’s better to go intern with an interior designer firm and learn from them, along with that go to a college with an interior design degree.
Only taking online courses will not be practical in experience for this job.
If the only thing that you have decorated is your own space, that is not called being an interior designer.
Any single person can decorate and design their own home in whatever they please, but that doesn’t make you a professional interior designer.
So, go to school and acquire internships to learn from professionals who have portfolios.
Reminds me with Nobita's house
nice
are bhai we gujaratis already remove our shoes before entering 😂😂
Don't bring dirt into home but bring dirt in drawer?
I prefer just leaving them on the floor of the entrance. I see you do not have space so the drawer is good.
Japanese? Ill admit, I’m Latina and we have the same culture . I find it’s mostly a western thing to bring shoes inside the home lol
I think it's just the US, Canada and the UK. Europeans wear house slippers.
Credits?
Vivo en Suecia y acá no usamos zapatos dentro de casa
Might be a bit awkward for more than one person
516 is pretty large.
It's a indian tradition
Greatest secret pride of european parents: after telling for 10 years " shoes off, slippers on" all day long to kids...being invited to put on houseshoes on the first visit to their new adult home!!!!! ; - )))
516 isn't that small. Especially if just a single person.
she lives with her husband
You bought dirt right inside! One takes shoes off outside.
