What an amazing intro 😂 Edit: you're seriously so funny but in the chillest way, like when the wrist brace was wildin on you and you're like "okay, everybody calm down" I was dead because that's like exactly me.
I really enjoy your vlogs, & I agree with you about watching, or rewatching, different makers videos while I'm making something. Why not make them a bit of money?! Shelby's mystery ceramic mold series is so much fun. Do you watch Anthony Crammen? He's a riot, & makes arts & crafts in Northern England. So much fun. Hope your hand & wrists stay supple. Best wishes from Czechia.
Hey massage therapist here. The hurting after crocheting but not while is a hallmark sign of tendinitis. Definitely get a referral for PT before it gets too bad. It’s hard AF to treat once it gets bad and a major factor in treatment is stoping the activity that caused it. Also don’t just assume it’s just carpal tunnel syndrome it could be thoracic outlet syndrome. Very different things but cause arm, hand and wrist pain and numbness. Also ask the massage therapist to use less oil, lotion, or give you a hot towel after to wipe off with. Also we 100% can do just arm, neck and pecs (what I would recommend for an advisor crocheter).
So I understand that hurting after crocheting could be a sign of something worse, Is it normal for your hands to hurt while crocheting? I don’t have good insurance and would rather not go to the drs if I don’t need to but it’s been bothering me a lot lately, I have to take a break every 3-5 minutes.
Depending on how tight my muscles are there is some soreness for me. I drink lots of water especially after a massage. It helps get the toxins that are worked out rinsed out! Side note I found out my issues were not carpal tunnel and I shouldn't have been using braces but doing some exercises to stretch out my muscles different from my repetitive crocheting motion. I agree to get a PT review of the issue.
Hi Kelsie! I sleep in my carpal tunnel wrist braces, and find out that I wake up refreshed and pain free to crochet the next day away. Been a game changer for me.
Hi Kelsie, hope you’re doing good. Thank you so much for uploading this video rn. I was going through something really rough, your video saved me. I don’t know you personally but listening to u feels like listening to a really great friend. May God always bless you❤
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing with your videos the past few days, just playing them and vibing whenever I’m crocheting. Same with bag o day crochet, she uploads like 2-3 videos a day most days so I just play them in the background while I sleep & then I’ll rewatch it again if it’s a video I l was really interested in it (like the yarn hauls.) it’s so easy to just put on someone’s channel while you’re asleep and let it play through, & if you need to sleep in silence you can always mute it.
I started rolling the hook in my fingers instead of turning my whole wrist, and it took a minute to get used to and you need a completely round hook, But it definitely feels a lot better!
Im not on social media at all anymore but I love your channel and work. I have been crocheting for 15 years now and it's still a very strong passion that I really have no one to share with. So I improvise and crochet with you while I watch your videos lol❤ I'm working on selling my work next fall year at the art shows. I crochet a mushrooms and hats and blankets. I also love to make stuffies too and pillows.
You're so young and going all gangbusters with your crocheting. This is admirable, but take it from someone who today is 61 and has had a really tough taskmaster called Lupus in my life, that you need to pace yourself. The body can betray you in the most unexpected ways. At 22 I thought I had the world at my feet. I completed a certification program in computer operations at the top of my class and was hired by one of the best companies in the field of mainframe support (this was in 1983!). Next thing I knew, I was having hand and foot aches, I couldn't tie my shoelaces properly, I was having fatigue when I had never been tired like that, and then one day my baby, who was 6 months old, literally fell out of my hands when my wrists gave way. I was diagnosed with Lupus and lost that hard-won job. Two years later I had to retire completely. I was only 25, and though I tried to return to work several times, it could never work out for more than a few months. The longest was 5 years but only because that one boss was very flexible with my duties and hours. Just know that your whole life is ahead of you and plan accordingly. Crochet can be a passion, but it can extract a pretty heavy price. Learn a 2nd hobby, perhaps, like making soap, baking bread, macrame, sewing anything. In other words, diversify. It might just save your sanity in the end. Just a couple of pennies' worth of unsolicited advice from an old grandma.
I’m an avid fiber arts girl too and have been crocheting like crazy the last two weeks. When my hands and wrists ache after being crafty I find that sleeping in my compression gloves helps a lot! 😊 Loving your content and am super excited to try your granny square cardi very soon!!
I’m typically a lurker but I’m trying to leave more comments for engagement on my favorite creators videos. I absolutely love your vlogs (and your patterns, I’ve used like four patterns of yours now) and they encourage me to sit and crochet or knit along with you. 😊
I have pretty good arm strength from various sports and boating. So, I use my arms more when crocheting. Works well for me at least, though short breaks are essential❤
I had wrist problems years ago and use to wear braces. I found that stretching and strengthening is what helped the most. I agree with the massage therapist about doing pt. Back then I did a combination of PT and yoga (downward dog modified to use step or something to change the angle). I would highly recommended finding a therapeutic yoga instructor. Love your channel. Good luck with your wrists.
i have the same problem wiht my wrists, and i haven’t looked through all the comments to see if it’s been said already, but something that really helps is using ice packs but wrapping a hand towel or something around the ice pack before putting it on skin, it gets cold after a couple minutes and really helps me!
“I put on my *home-pants*, cause who wants to wear jeans all day” is my life’s mantra! Words to live by 😂 And so cool to see you watch Shelby!! As do I
We watch a ton of TH-cam content between me and my 19yr old son. So I have TH-cam premium. But if I didn't I would still Do what you do and watch all the video and the commercials. I think it's an easy way to support creators that you like and enjoy.
Tip for massages: drink pineapple juice after so you don't get sore later! When you get a massage it builds up the lactic acid and the juice helps that!
I feel u on the hand pain, girlie. That’s why I invested in Furls 🤷🏿♀️. Once I switched, I crochet a lil slower, but I can crochet for hours w/o pain afterwards. Will forever love clover amours, but *sigh* my wrists and hands suffer when I use them for long stretches.
I love your channel, I have a suggestion for the pain in your wrists and arms.. there’s a supplement called turmeric which helps with joint pain. Also there’s an oil called castor oil that you can rub on your wrists and arms and it soothes inflammation. I hope this helps. Your channel is so fun to watch.
Look up ergonomic techniques you can use while crocheting! Although braces, ice, rest, and compression help - the only way it can truly make a difference is by using techniques that don’t wear and tear your joints WHILE crocheting, such as using a tennis ball as the handle. You have to protect your joints!! ESPECIALLY since you’ll be doing this for a long time! From an OTA that also crochets, hope this helps!
i don’t work out or anything but lowkey i think c bc i turn wrenches and machines all day everyday at work , my wrists and hands don’t hurt as much when i crochet (i also crochet everyday but only for around 4-5 hours)
Yeah I started filming crochet and knitting on channel. I usually do it on my tic toc. I pick crochet during COVID19. I learn to knit when I was 19 years old.
Also I get the braces from Walgreens or the dollar store that just Velcro around your wrist and don’t have the metal rod and they are more comfortable to me
Dying at that intro 💀🪥 So cute watching mates YT vids in your downtime - I'm going to start doing the same now I'm on the platform and more aware of it 😻
Hi there! You are amazing at keeping up at 2 jobs! Cause crocheting is one, but being a community manager and content creator is completely a whole different and time-consuming job. So here you have an idea for new content (I guess, maybe you have already done it though): it would be very inspiring for people who do handmade crafts and are thinking of selling that you talk about how you make numbers, like, how you calculate how much your products cost regarding material costs, you hourly rate ,taxes or any other expenses you need to cover. Thanks for your work!
Hopefully you give those braces a try! I have a brace that has like a little pillow inside for the palm but goes over the hand and forearm and I’ve definitely noticed it helps when my hands/wrists get sore from overworking them. I’ll usually put them on at bedtime and take them off in the middle of the night after a couple hours but they still help just from the consistency of wearing them :)
Wow, this is my first time watching one of your vlogs (mostly a shorts/tutorial viewer) and I am now realizing how much I absolutely adore you. I was not expecting you to be caught up on One Piece lmao
I'm a knitter and a licensed massage therapist! Funny to see the yarn world and massage world cross in your vlog. Yeah, hair and makeup will not survive a thorough massage. Lol. Also you will have what I call the rainbow of happiness on your forehead when you are done, from the face cushion. And your neck is very involved in your shoulders and arms. Everything is connected. But I personally do not like to use a ton of oil; 1. Because most people do not like being oily, and 2. Because it makes it difficult to sink into the muscles and do the work. So I spread the oil thin or I use a massage cream, which is thick. Definitely drink a lot of water and a hot Epsom salt bath after a massage and rest. Soreness is not uncommon and not a bad thing,. Means she worked some problems out and they are recovering. but these things can make that go away sooner. Almost like working out 💪 lol Anyway, don't be afraid to ask questions! It helps to understand what you are feeling.
my MIL treated me to a massage ... i had my face arms and neck done.. i totally get how you felt awkward.. i was so stressed out and weird about going there.. anyway..flash forward to what felt like 15 mins later, the lady woke me up i had slept through the majority of it.. it was super nice and relaxing.. the lady was great very professional etc.. my skin definitely ate up all the oils she used but yeh i never went bk .. i just make everything super weird in my head 😅😅
Wat size bags do you usually get and do those gloves the pink ones thingys do anything for your hands while crocheting with those black ones while crocheting you look how I look when I normally crochet 😂
I love the lightning thief!! If you read all 5 of the books you should also read The Heroes Of Olympus , Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard , I have read all of these books and I’m just working on reading the Magnus chase books and they are all really good! I’ve been looking for some like that to treat my tendinitis and haven’t been able to locate them no matter how I search Side note - I have found that wrapping my hands/wrist/forearm with sports tape before starting to crochet as a brace helps a ton to reduce the inflammation/discomfort/pain

Repetitive strain injuries can last for life, especially if you continue to put stress on it when it’s already hurting. I watch your videos while i crochet too, but i skip the ads 😢 how does that affect your channel? And I'd love to see what you could do with mosaic crochet!
I’ve been sleeping in a wrist brace for almost 40 years. I have severe tendonitis. I finally gave in and got cortisone shots. You are way too young for that, but hand therapy might help.
Regarding the tiktok content, honestly I would love to watch you crochet for a minute. Lofi music or voice over in the background, relaxing vid. Hopefully it doesn't slow down the process though..
so, the weirdest thing just happened and ive never noticed it before, but when you said "thumbs up" the like button on your video lit up with rainbow colors and im like 👀 youtube is getting creepy high tech.
the way you side eyed the camera after your boyfriend used your toothbrush 😭😭😭
😂 the look you gave the camera when he said he used your toothbrush 🤣🤣🤣 aaaah the joys of cohabitation 😳 I love you guys!!
What an amazing intro 😂

obsessed with your content rn. ❤ keep doing what you do. that got me at the beginning lol "guess we're official now" 😂
Haha 😂😂
Hi Kelsie! I sleep in my carpal tunnel wrist braces, and find out that I wake up refreshed and pain free to crochet the next day away. Been a game changer for me.
bf saying "do you hate me?? are you mad at me??" when she was sitting there looking so confused. bless
I love your videos I watch your videos and tutorials all day while I crochet makes me feel like I'm not just home alone when my baby is sleeping
Put a thin cloth between your ice packs and skin to solve the too cold issue. ❤
Hi Kelsie, hope you’re doing good. Thank you so much for uploading this video rn. I was going through something really rough, your video saved me. I don’t know you personally but listening to u feels like listening to a really great friend. May God always bless you❤

I have pretty good arm strength from various sports and boating. So, I use my arms more when crocheting. Works well for me at least, though short breaks are essential❤
I have wrist band stabilizer (or WE it called) and sleep with it when my hand hurts, it is helping! So totally recommend
I am just getting back into watching videos so thank you for the suggestions. Keep on making and supporting ❤

For me soaking my hands/ wrists in hot Epsom salt water helps a lot.
Loving the Springfield Mo shirt. I grew up there but then moved to Arizona in high school.

That’s nice of you!! We still get paid from TH-cam premium views so don’t worry :) just no ads for you which is great!
Watching TH-cam vids and crochet or knit mindlessly is my jam
i loved this vlog it was long and i loved it! i love just feeling like i’m hanging out with you and crocheting together! ❤️
I'm so glad!
Yayayayy I love vlogs ❤❤❤❤
Loved the vlog hope you do these more. Thanks for sharing
You could soak in epsom salt, too, I’ve heard that helps.
i'm a new viewer to your videos, i love watching you especially when you packup orders.
Thank you for watching!
Your blogs inspired me that i even made my own crochet blog. Thanks!
Tip for massages: drink pineapple juice after so you don't get sore later! When you get a massage it builds up the lactic acid and the juice helps that!
Thank you for not spoiling one piece I’m almost caught up but still have like 100 episodes 😊
i am an absolute beginner to crochet and i hope to get to your level someday
Keep the ice packs in the fridge instead of the freezer if they are too cold
I feel u on the hand pain, girlie. That’s why I invested in Furls 🤷🏿♀️. Once I switched, I crochet a lil slower, but I can crochet for hours w/o pain afterwards. Will forever love clover amours, but *sigh* my wrists and hands suffer when I use them for long stretches.

Hand/forearm massages are THE BEST. Next in line is a good scalp massage. 😊
Great Job, Kelsie!!! I’m a huge Marvel fan too. Still haven’t made to the theater to see it. Hope you’re having a great day.❤❤❤

So talented.😊
If your shoulder is hurting, try stabilizing it with a pillow underneath. My rotator cuff is shot so thats how I crochet
Love what u do. No way could I do what u do.
I also just watched the last episode of AOT and have the same reaction to the end 🙃
Wow, this is my first time watching one of your vlogs (mostly a shorts/tutorial viewer) and I am now realizing how much I absolutely adore you. I was not expecting you to be caught up on One Piece lmao

I do custome orders as well. Im always Crocheting its my job
Making chiefs merch is such a good idea!!!
You could have cyst in wrist. I had one in one risk. Took a year to recover. Then I thought the other wrist was getting one .😊
I crochet but also here’s a hack play two holes in a tennis ball lined up and put your hook through the tennis ball
I actually have a video on that, you should watch it
Wat size bags do you usually get and do those gloves the pink ones thingys do anything for your hands while crocheting with those black ones while crocheting you look how I look when I normally crochet 😂
What chair is that? I’m looking for a comfortable crafting/computer chair. Love your videos 😊
I'd love to know where you get your mailers! They are so cute 🙂
They are from UPakNShip :)
I love the lightning thief!! If you read all 5 of the books you should also read The Heroes Of Olympus , Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard , I have read all of these books and I’m just working on reading the Magnus chase books and they are all really good! So I hope this helps if you needed a recommendation:)
Also I’m crocheting while watching this video:)
Oh my gosh what is the pastel multi colored yarn used on the peek a boob top!
What kind of hook do you use? I find that I have pain with a smaller handle hook, but one with a wider handle eliminates the pain on my wrists, forearms and elbows. Maybe give a different hook a try!
You guys are toothbrush official now!!! 😂😂 I've done it with my hubby's brush too. We've been married 17 years. It happens
You were talking about watching other TH-camrs while you crochet. I’m doing the same with your vlog
Blessings 💞 and crochet 🧶
Such a cute doggie!
Get the fingerless gloves for circulation.😊
Could you possibly share the link to the ice packs you got? I’ve been looking for some like that to treat my tendinitis and haven’t been able to locate them no matter how I search
Side note - I have found that wrapping my hands/wrist/forearm with sports tape before starting to crochet as a brace helps a ton to reduce the inflammation/discomfort/pain
After a massage make sure to drink lots of water and maybe stretch to get the lactic acid out of your muscles. This will help you not be sore the next day
Nutritional yeast tablets may help with your wrists. They are just a natural form of b complex vitamins.
He was so Cute 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does the ice/heat wrap really work? Do you have a link? I have finger pain from crochet and Ice really helps but it gets awkward!
It works but it’s not super comfortable! I recommend buying one but maybe a different brand. I just found it on Amazon!
@@PassioKnitKelsie Excellent, thank you for the advice and fast response!
Suggestion: Add a thin cloth between ice pack and your skin.
I never seen before so pretty girl❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What shipping service do you use for your orders?
I get the shipping labels through Shopify, usually usps or ups , you can also use pirate ship if you’d like
Hey kelsie
I looooove your content 🤩👌🏽👍🏽 first Thing i crochet for me was an Video tutorial from you 😊

What type of yarn do you use to make your garments?
Cotton mostly
I felt the exact same about Attack on Titan. I heard they have a new episode (or 2, idk) but they lost me at the beach
O don't know how you do it..ibe been crocheting a few hours a day and my arm is killing me plus i have tennis elbow for no apparent reason
I don’t know the extent of your pain issues and if you’re seeing a professional yet, but please be very careful. I watch your videos while i crochet too, but i skip the ads 😢 how does that affect your channel?
And I'd love to see what you could do with mosaic crochet!
You can skip the ads!! It doesn’t make a huge difference :) don’t worry
I’ve been sleeping in a wrist brace for almost 40 years. I have severe tendonitis. I finally gave in and got cortisone shots. You are way too young for that, but hand therapy might help.
We're goin to see the marvels tonight as well ar 7:45
