Today we’re looking at the relationship between the Vlog Squad’s favorite David Dobrik and pop-star Madison Beer. These two have been hanging lately, which has brought up rumors that David and Madison are secretly dating. I’d like to give my own perspective as a dating coach on this video. But please keep in mind, this is all just “educated speculation” based on my years of interacting with thousands of people and my work as a dating and social coach since 2005.

Anthony Recenello lol yes LA is a very small town and we sort of run the same circles. It’s a hot spot me and my friend used to go frequently and that night we seat at the bar the usual and next thing you know they walk in together and seat right next to us they were just chilling then some fans came over but they left maybe like 20-30 min after so they didnt stay really long but it was just them 2 hanging out.

When David basically called out Madison on being on her phone, perhaps because she was getting nervous about the prospect of dating him, I found that to be incredibly sexy. Men who notice when something is up, can read through the body language, and call it out is so rare.
To be honest, I think David is going to end up with someone older than him. He could be really evasive, but when he's serious there's this intensity about him that can be intimidating to girls his age, but be appreciated by someone with more life experience.

David is shy and (in my opinion) demisexual. His "stand-offishness" is unintentional, don't overvalue it. He's not maliciously pretending not to be interested, in order to manipulate women into liking him more, he's actually just a bit nervous. You can tell, by his body language when he interacts with women who like him!
He was in a long relationship with Liza, who dumped him, and after that he's stayed single. He continues to shut women down, and that's the complete opposite of what a womanizer would do.

At 5:00 David had become serious for a second (which is hard for him because he doesn’t like being vulnerable). He asks her if she would want to go on a date with him.
She responded half playfully with “are we going to go canoeing?” I believe she was caught off guard by his question and she didn’t want to put herself out there and respond too seriously in the event that he’s only kidding or doesn’t really mean it.
However, He felt rejected and changed the subject immediately to make it seem like he wasn’t being serious.
I'm curious how do you know how someone feels or what they think when you've never met them. You only see what David post from his vlogs

He views a potential girlfriend as another member of the group who he enjoys life with. So it makes sense that he doesn’t want to mess around. What Madison was saying about false feelings reminds me of a quote from oedipus that I read today for a course “what is sought is found, but what is overlooked escapes” like if you’re so focused on finding a romantic relationship not only will you miss out on whatever else is going on in your life whether friends or otherwise but what you really want -a genuine romantic relationship- would be overlooked and would escape you since you aren’t mentally present to appreciate and make those connections a relationship needs in the first place

Watching this video really made me understand how I was in high school, I was kinda awkward and had the facade of wanting an S.O., but since I started University, I just had the mindset of not actively pursuing it, but to make genuine connections to people and if it happens, it happens. I'm now more focused on building friendships with people instead of 'glorifying' people I want to pursue romantically. I just go with the flow now lol, just focusing on myself and building my relationships up with others. Great video!

His insights are actually really good. I was surprised and impressed. The only thing I would tweak is that I don’t think David saw Madison as more than a friend for more of their relationship. All this comes natural to him. He has that jimmy fallon friend charisma
