Here in Oz I've seen three coffee creamers (we call them "whiteners") in French Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Irish Cream flavours. They're manufactured by CoffeeMate with a UHT milk base and sold in packs of 12(?) portion-packs (15ml each?). Plus-side, you can jyst store them in the cupboard. Minus-side you need 2 or 3 in a cup to taste them at all.
Cafes use flavour syrups (more like S... I guess, though they're typically made in Italy) and you can buy them for home use.

There was a craze for coffee creamers in the 70s! It was considered very cool and there was only one brand. To the credit of Australians, it was considered very bogan ( you’ll know what that means!). The chemical mixes in America are quite frightening. Combined with the unnaturalness of Oreos or Twinkies I’m scared 😱

Lol yeah not great. Someone just invented coffee flavored coffee creamer.. why not just use milk?.... Lol

  • @sueschoers4974

Hey Jenny, to replicate Australian flat white, boil your milk & add to coffee. The boiling makes the milk creamier. I use a French press to make strong coffee & boil milk in the microwave, it’s just like you get in the cafe’s.

I remember as a kid, here in Australia, when Coffee-mate appeared. It was popular for a while, but more or less died away. You can still buy it, but it only comes in the one type and is only used to make coffee creamy. I bought a pack a few months ago to try and it made the coffee more creamy in texture, but did nothing to the flavour.

Jenny, you have truly become a coffee snob.. Welcome to the club!! Haha I'm from Melbourne so I feel pretty spoilt by all the amazing coffee we have. The idea of coffee creamer is so foreign to me. Tbh my stomach turned a bit at the thought of drinking it.
Interestingly filtered coffee is coming increasingly popular here in Australia. It's something you would buy in a cafe that is more geared towards selling predominantly coffee (if that makes sense). I would guess the quality would be better than the standard filter coffee you guys have in the US, so it tastes pretty good 🙂

As an Aussie, I'm sure you could understand that the only extra I put in my coffee is Rum on ANZAC Day or maybe caramel syrup, but there's a vast difference to putting in a flavoured syrup than a creamer, that's just like pouring flavoured milk in your coffee, yuck!

My teeth started to rot watching this. Did you ever try your flat whites with Jersey milk? (Jersey is a dairy cattle breed, and I live in dairy country in SW Victoria). It’s a rich, creamy milk. I honestly don’t know if we can buy many varieties of Coffee Mate here, but we don’t have as many sweet varieties as in the US. I remember being fed Fluffer Nutter in Pennsylvania. My teeth fell out immediately (may not be true) but I hadn’t heard of instant-onset diabetes before. I can’t even bear sugar in my coffee.

    • @twotravelingkings

  • @Jeni10

We have CoffeeMate powder for when you’re desperate, but really, milk is the best and only addition to coffee aside from a bit of sugar, if you must. TH-camr/TokTok user, Ayla Jalyn, is a flavoured creamer fiend! I doubt she’s ever had a REAL cup of coffee in her life!
Nougat is French and so the t is silent. Also, Maltesers doesn’t sound like pal-teasers but rather maul-teasers.

    • @twotravelingkings
      @twotravelingkings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@twotravelingkings The only thing I like with different flavours is tea - the real tea with real leaves, petals, fruits and spices etc. lots to explore and I have my favourites but there are some I just don’t enjoy. Like any foods, tastes vary from one person to the next. Stay covid safe, you two! This Delta strain is so much worse because it spreads so much more easily.

Why would anyone adulterate a rich robust coffee flavour with super sweet, lolly milk?
Why drink coffee at all if people don't like the coffee flavour?
    Sacrilege for an aficionado.

Hi guys, that was fun.. I now understand how a hallucination, with all that sugar and chemicals , can have an election rigged...OOooooooo.... sorry, couldn't help it:)..but seriously isn't having that first cup of coffee in the morning about the aroma of fresh pressed coffee, the taste of a good bean. I don't have sugar , it is the release of the natural sugar in the heated milk is from where I get my sweetness. Some people like to add some syrups, vanilla or almond and some like cinnamon and of course we have the Tim Tam straw..but isnt coffee all about coffee and not making it into something else...enjoyed your video..well done
