    There's something about the quality of the light it gives off that definitely works. Bet you can make some pretty slick film burn effects with it too!

    1:55 It's caustic lights (when light rays reflected or refracted by a curved surface or object, like when the sunlight illuminates a swimming pool or the calm sea).

    I bought that same light for $5 and have a ton of fun with it. I was shocked at how good the quality is for $5.

    The glass IS in fact "refracting" the the light (changing the angle of the rays exiting from the glass based on it's refraction index) And the actual light landing on the cup would be referred to as "surface caustics" technically.

    Thank you for showing everyone the proper way to use this tool. The listings on Amazon and other places just do not show its proper purpose. You should try it behind a set of window blinds hanging in front of it that's a nice sharp line effect

    Great use of the sunset lamp. esp. when diffracting the light.... But any light source can be used in creative ways. a candle or a simple flashlight Which I carry around with me so I can light people's faces at night to do portraits.. The new LED pocket flashlights are quite useful & versatile....

    I’ve seen it countless times on TikTok and didn’t think about it so much as I assumed the quality would be subpar and just a trend. Now that I’ve seen the way it looks and it’s use I would be more likely to get one for sure!

    Looks pretty interesting, It'd be cool to see, if you can achieve a moody, high contrast afternoon look for a whole room, maybe with a little bit of haze and multiple of those lights placed behind some blinds.

    Around 4:30 this time of year, my west windows with wood Venetian blinds let in some low parallel sunlight to my living room. It's good for about 20.minutes max.
    This, with some fake blinds will give me some serious latitude. Normally I set my light setting to cloudy..with this I may pull way back into the cooler setting.

    There is another lamp on Amazon that is rechargeable and RGB that gives the same cast for about $10 more. It doesn’t have a stand though.

    The light is nice, but your creativity is where the value is. I would think almost any of the small bi- colour lights would work well, especially with those simple gobos. Nicely done. Inspired me to try something with a bi-colour ring light. Thanks.

    I actually like this it’s something that can set the mood for products and doesn’t need me to do anything but proper placement. I’m someone who’s using “what I have” to help with videography of my products and stuff like this makes me think outside of the box. I use a $20- arm to capture movements in my resin art making.

    I feel like anyone with tiktok knows this lamp and always ignores it (bc it looks like an actual video then you realize its an ad). But honestly it worked pretty well, though I would say it also matters what you shoot on and if you have enough skill to use it properly (I certainly don't)
