Every video feels like a masterclass on lighting. I love that you have so little focus on the camera gear itself. You have your kit and you've mastered it. It's refreshing.
when i tell i screameddddd at that gorgeous double exposure shot, also the way you just started playing with the light and the amazing results you got 1000/10
Dude, you look good. I imagine how happy you're when developing these photos. I love how you see things, I feel like, if I were your assistant I can learn a lot from you. Beautiful portraits as always. 👏👏👏🇵🇭
good video, like how you combine old school (film) with new school (light). Also, its amazing how Aperture is so late to the party of cob rgb or full color lights, but they get all the attention. Hive / Arri lights had similar lights in the market for 10 years already.
What a fantastic vid - it felt like a class on lighting! Great job! Major props to the model - a wonderful collaboration! Zack looks like a young Willem Dafoe!!🎉❤
Forgot to add: This is for sure one of my favorite videos you've done. LOVE all of this and I have a new inspiration and desire to try more constant lighting. Wah wah weeee wah!
Yeah man, that hit all the spots. Great work! That last Pentax 67 image was my favorite as well. A bit of a bittersweet video as well for me, I used to have hair like Zach.. but 20 years later, and it's gone.
that last setup with just the basic soft box... Ive spent so many years watching fashion photography breakdowns and it's so funny to sometimes pull back and realize a big soft key light is literally the only thing you need. no need for vflats, fill lights, rim lights or catch lights. plain and simple and it looks GOOD!!!! absolute favorite shot from this shoot is the one at 9:33. looks like a poster for an edgy early 90's psychological thriller with political undertones. somethin about running from the cops, cheap motels and with a pack of marlboros in his old man's leather jacket.
Love your results! In my opinion, these will undergo the same process that happened to Astera Titantubes... when those came out, everyone was putting them into the background of their music videos because it was a new look, then quickly people got bored by it (I already find my feed is slightly oversaturated with "spotlight" images). Then they proceeded to just be a nifty tool for more regular appliances, like making edge lights or practical lights. I can see how this Aputure LED could be my GoTo tool for simulating direct sun light with hard shadows.
Love this light. I rarely use my 150d cause it just does everything I want it to do for the most part. Also your photos turned out amazing, reminded me of a David Bowie album cover
Thanks for the video, the application possibilities are enormous if you can control the light. What about the fan? Is it audible when recording video in the studio in close proximity? Is the power reduced when the fan is switched off?
thanks a ton yo! i am going to redo this session. good compositions sire. i wonder if i'd be using a 80mm 6X6 on medium format how the frames pan out. very good episode sire.
man, youre awesome! all hits no misses per usual question! how do you use your phone as a light meter? would love a quick breadown on that, or just an app name :)
That mans Chin tho lol but this was an incredible video! Let alone getting to see how you use light, and your photography workflow, the images you created were spectacular. Inspiring even, thanks.
loved the vid and love when you can do that with a light. i modified a lens of mine to attach to one of those "tofu" lights so i can do this and project shapes with shapes behind the aperture, idk what its actually called
Its crazy how good these images are... You are so good man. I would love to try something like this in the future but I have two question you could maybe help me with. Do you think in your case the Amaran 150c would be enough or did u need the power of the 300c ? And what model is your projector ? Thank you a lot for the Video... Peace and love from Germany
What light stand are you using for amaran 300c? I bought one after watching your video and I can't pick a light stand for it that is affordable but safe to use ;;
firstly i’m glad you got one! what an amazing light. secondly, i actually don’t own a c stand or light stand - i always use the ones at the studios i shoot at!
Can I ask if this is the 19 or 36 lens attachment for the spotlight? Whichever one you’re using seems like the perfect one for my studio space. Been on the fence about purchasing and I think your video sold me on it!
peak design tripod! link in the description! it's heavier than the carbon fiber one by PD which is good for big analog cameras, and the head of the tripod is the best one i've ever used for reframing photo or video with. just so compact, easy to use, and just so reliable
@@linusandhiscamera yea I saw how you were able to easily frame his face with the tripod head. Im definitely going to look into the it. Thanks for the speedy response

The joy and passion that emanate from you are so pleasing.
You're the only one who can make me pause everything and give your video my full attention.
dude thank you what?? so sweet
almost every frame of this video is unbeatable.
thank you so much wilk! love you
These are all bangers! It's not the light, it's you.
thank you so much man!!

I love a big, beautiful, soft box.

This is a creative masterpiece in lighting shot on film. Your model is a dead ringer for Jim Morrison.
thank you so much!! and yes, zack looks so much like him
that was amazing dude

awh man thank you so much!!
That’s super cool!

You should get a kickback cause I just bought this set up and a Neewer stand on Amazon after watching this.
Take note Aputure-
Thanks for the video.
beautiful video congratulations. What type of app do you use to get the correct exposure? thank you 🙏🏾
Thanks for the video, the application possibilities are enormous if you can control the light.

Imo no one does film photography that too studio one's like this other than you, great content bro

thank you so much, ryan
Zach looks so cool

Love your creative flow and how simply your share it. You very talented. Thank you.
Can I ask what’s your fav app for light meter ?
thank you for watching! the app is my light meter pro
man, youre awesome! all hits no misses per usual question! how do you use your phone as a light meter? would love a quick breadown on that, or just an app name :)
Wow, that double exposure... I mean, come on! You're killing it as a professional but also as a content creator!
thank you!! it is so hard to do both, espacilly when these videos are just being produced out of pocket, but i'm gonna keep it going!
double exposure shot goes so hard.
you never talk enough. also they should have named the spot light "The Linus" because it's such a key part to your portrait work. All Love!
haha that would be sweeeet
Is your friend Jim Morrison? Excellent video as always, endlessly inspiring!
haha he really does look like him. thank you!!
another banger video
You already know! Thank you!!
That mans Chin tho
lol but this was an incredible video! Let alone getting to see how you use light, and your photography workflow, the images you created were spectacular. Inspiring even, thanks.
Let's go bro ❗
thanks bro bro
loved the vid and love when you can do that with a light. i modified a lens of mine to attach to one of those "tofu" lights so i can do this and project shapes with shapes behind the aperture, idk what its actually called
what!! that sounds so sick. would love to see what you're talking about!
This is amazing! absolutely.
Around 8:51, did the projector had double light with little yellow on the eyes and blue on the face ?
yes!
Another great video Linus! Thank you for sharing your process dude I really learn a lot from you
bro you're my GOAT
Thanks, Nice one, what projector is that or do you recommend ? Thanks
oh god the first double exposure is *mwah*
THANK YOU!!!!
Very nice usage!
Amazing!!! What app do you use to know the exposure?
you got a "New Fan Sub"...
1st time i watch your video... I LOVE IT... amazing Video.
What app you are using to calculate the exposure...?
Welcome to the channel!! My light meter pro is the name of my light meter app!!
I'm buying one. That shit is so dope.
brooooo lets go! such a good light
Great video as always! How often are you pushing the brightness past 50%? Wondering if the 150 would be enough....
for the RGB stuff it's pretty usually at 75% or higher, but for white light i'm usually at like 50%
COMO FAÇO PRA USAR ESSES FORMATOS NO PROJETOR DATASHOW?
Its crazy how good these images are... You are so good man. I would love to try something like this in the future but I have two question you could maybe help me with. Do you think in your case the Amaran 150c would be enough or did u need the power of the 300c ? And what model is your projector ? Thank you a lot for the Video... Peace and love from Germany
thank you! the 150 is probably good for most people! the 300c is helpful for analog that needs more light though
Dope
appreciate you!
what light meter app are you using on your phone? thanks!
quick question. what app are you using to check the aperture to check the light
Great video 🔭💿
thank you so much!!
sorry if i missed it, did you tell us the projector u use in this video? i need to know the lumens. thank u!
What light stand are you using for amaran 300c? I bought one after watching your video and I can't pick a light stand for it that is affordable but safe to use ;;

@@linusandhiscamera Thanks for your response!
Cool! What projector is that?
What app are you using for the light meter?!
Can I ask if this is the 19 or 36 lens attachment for the spotlight? Whichever one you’re using seems like the perfect one for my studio space. Been on the fence about purchasing and I think your video sold me on it!
I was using the 36! it's excellent
just saw the double exposure and im genuinely wondering how you dont have 100K or 1M subs
what is the name of the application that you used to calculate the aperture (f/) ? Please
What light meter app do you use?
Really inspiring video, you are amazing at portraits. Have you ever worked with large format?
thank you sm! next week's video is on large format - my first time shooting 4x5! it does *not* go perfectly LOL but excited to get better
@@linusandhiscamera what a coincidence! I just watched it, fantastic video, again it's super inspiring!
Hey, what app do you use to take the temperature of the light on the model's face? Nide video man!
my light meter pro!
I noticed you use your smartphone as a lightmeter? What app do you use? And is it truly accurate? :D
Hey! What were you doing on with your phone when you said "250 WOOO."??
Hey ! Amazing. What is that projector and software???
just a general epson home cinema projector and photoshop!
which film cameras are you using in this?
Which Light Meter do you use?
These are super cool. What tripod do you use for the RB67?
peak design tripod! link in the description! it's heavier than the carbon fiber one by PD which is good for big analog cameras, and the head of the tripod is the best one i've ever used for reframing photo or video with. just so compact, easy to use, and just so reliable
