you know, you’re not supposed to like him. You’re supposed to dislike him. There’s nothing wholesome about anything that he’s doing. The fact is that his daughter is not talented at all. He might have dreams for her. But a good parent recognizes that their children are not capable of everything. Good parents have hard limits for their children and let those children operate within those limits. So if a blind child wants to be a NBA player, The parent can’t say yes you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It’s unrealistic. The blind child has to be able to grieve that they can’t do one thing. And then, grow from it. They can then explore all the other things they can do.

Its really frustrating to know robbers can sue if they're injured whilst robbing your house, if its deemed a hazard (plus, if they can prove it in a court etc). I'd guess the reasoning would be, especially in the US, that the govt doesn't want to pay hospital and employment bills (and in doing so, make the taxpayer pay) for an individuals laziness/money-saving ways by not adding in a pool fence. Plus, the laws are really designed so little kids and poor animals can't just fall in. Every drowning death is preventable.
