- ALL NEW! Here is the close to a random episode of the John Davidson Show (I guess Game Show hosts were also targets to host talk / variety shows as well in the 80s!)... This has a very game show feel to it as well, with fee plugs and all.
Henry Grethel the same wardrobe worn by the late Dick Clark during his days on Pyramid and American Bandstand
I would love to have the full track of the theme song.
as would I
Who composed the theme song to The John Davidson Show?
I love this theme. Always have since I was 13 years old. Would love to have the full track myself.
I have the full length in audio
4:33 seconds
me too
Director Ron Dr Moraes would go on to become a long time director of Entertainment Tonight and it's sister show Hard Copy.
Where is Ron deMoraes now and which studio did The John Davidson Show tape at? BTW, the late Terry Kyne also directed The John Davidson Show.
@@danalong1237 At least the second year was taped at Metromedia Square in Hollywood.
And he was a director on Soul Train as Well
Jerry Bishop was the announcer on Cross-Wits for a time in the late 70s and still announces on Judge Judy,
And, for many years, was the voice of Disney Channel.
Around that time, Mickey Gilley starred in an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard plus an episode of The Fall Guy as Colt's sidekick but I can't remember the episode name.
The one lady is Karen Grassle who played Carolyn Ingles on Little House On The Prairie.
I wonder why he didn't wear his suit and tie for the opening or just wore what he wore for the talk show
they actually sold those Hawaiian Tropic floats to the public?!
Hour Magazine and the Mike Douglas show also had fee plugs a la game show. Hour Magazine, Mike Douglas, and John Davidson's show all were syndicated by Group W.
As were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Couch Potatoes and a slew of Filmation shows.
@@danalong1237 yup, Group W acquired Filmatiion sometime in the early 80s with gold like He-Man, She-Ra, and Bravestarr.
1981 to be exact.
Now Paramount Global!
Where did this come from? The announcer said news center 11
Another Channel 11 that carried The John Davidson Show was WHAS-TV, which carried it every weekday morning at 10:00am, before it was replaced by The $25,000 Pyramid.
I was right.
U good u
John looks weird with facial hair. Seems Pontiac sponsored a couple of early-80s talk shows. Someone recently posted an episode of Richard Simmons' talk show (it's since been removed), and Pontiac also did sponsorship there (the J2000 wagon).
recognize richard thomas and mickey gilley but i don't recognize the two ladies
Richard Thomas later went on to become the host of It's a Miracle on what is now known as Ion Television: Positively Entertaining!
James Greek This is from KHOU-TV, Houston.
Thanx
In the Louisville area, The John Davidson Show aired on then-CBS affiliate (now ABC affiliate) WHAS at 10:00am right before The Price is Right (before it was replaced in the 10:00am timeslot by The (New) $25,000 Pyramid and in the 10:30am timeslot by Child's Play and, later, Press Your Luck and Card Sharks), and in the Lexington area, The John Davidson Show aired on WKYT at 9:00am before it was replaced by Hour Magazine.
May 1982 puts this near the end of the run as this show wasn't renewed for Fall.
