I was just a teenager then. And I was watching this up in my bedroom at night. Here in Philly, it was on at 7 o'clock on weeknights on Channel 6. Then it moved to Channel 3 in '72; but it was still on at the same time. But during it's last season, 1974-75, it was on in the afternoon, and I didn't see it because I was still in school then.
Well he was only 28 here and most people are good looking at that age. Still he had/and still has remarkable thick, shiny hair. It was/is his best feature. And it was pretty long for 1969!
Even a pantsuit Hillary could love! Noticed Arlene didn't clap for strip tease instructor. Thought even Jack was undressing John in his mind. Jack was a ladies man & that said something! Arlene thought John was too young for her, smiled respectfully.
Joyce Brothers @ 12:55 "Michelle, you teach People something, teach Women something, do you, uh, does it have something to do with Movement, do you teach them any kind of Movement?" Michellle: "yes." Joyce Brothers @ 14:43 "I asked if there was Movement and you said No!"
Jack Cassidy (David and Sean's dad) has the phoniest sounding fake old movie star accent that serves him well in his TV and film roles because he's a great villain, but on a game show, he sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
That is true, and the newer format could've worked even more had the hurdles of syndication not messed it up. Since they needed more advertising, it led to the show going at a too much faster pace with extra clues and the rushed mystery guest rounds.
John Daly will never be dated. The What's My Line shows with John Daley are the classics. The new updated What's My Line are OK but they don't have the class and style of the John Daly shows.
i had the biggest crush on john davidson when i was a kid :D
Me too...
123:06....she said yes to movement;; then later Dr. Brothers complains she says no to question and Wally Bruner says they made a mistake.
Arlene in pants!
Thanks for posting these 1970's episodes.
Meet him a few years ago . Nice guy!!
John had the craziest dimples! 😁
Said one of the panelists, "Doesn't he have pretty nipples-- pretty dimples there?"
16:49 Mystery Guest segment: John Davidson.
19:30 Jack Cassidy identified the Mystery Guest: John Davidson.

All-American boyish looks had young Mr. Davidson
Good to see John Davidson before “That’s Incredible,” “Hollywood Squares” and “The $100,000 Pyramid.”
...also before "The John Davidson Show," and "Time Machine."
And The Girl With Something Extra
I know that John was very good looking in the 80s (and even now). But my gosh, is he ever cute here?!
This episode was produced in 1969.
Always great to see Gene Rayburn on the panel. He was also the most popular host on NBC’s Monitor weekend radio program. 👍
And of course, he was best known on hosting Match Game.
Davidson is 82 now and he still has great hair. Too bad I wasn't so lucky.
He hosted one episode of the Hollywood Museum Squares on TH-cam, showing off his thick white hair.
I used to watch this as a kid. Great memories!
John Davidson was born 12/13/41, so he was 27 in this episode.
My mom used to love the wayJohn Davidson looks.
I don't want to denigrate John Davidson's talents in any way; but I do think he is an example of how good looks can really help a person's career.
@@faithfulforever6331 Nice to see tact make a comeback!
I forgot just how good looking John Davidson was. Wow.

Maybe you can hook up, he's at Shady Acres rest home
He looked young forever. Maybe he still does.
I just read where he admitted he's an atheist.
I believe that at least one of his parents was a minister if I remember correctly...
Yes I think both parents where pastors
That's Rare For GSN to air this
One quibble. I would NEVER have given the Paradise Island clue. They either figure it out, or they don't.
That’s John Davidson long before That’s Incredible!
How does a striptease dancer have a high moral character? This was a bit beyond what the show usually covers.
Even a pantsuit Hillary could love! Noticed Arlene didn't clap for strip tease instructor. Thought even Jack was undressing John in his mind. Jack was a ladies man & that said something! Arlene thought John was too young for her, smiled respectfully.
Jack was definitely man-crushing on John!
Technically the first round should have been a "service with a product involved".
How young is John Davidson! I remember him when he was a lot older and I'm sure he was blonde lol.
Jack Cassidy was great.
Everyone but Rayburn knew slot machines and he blurts out ocean? WTF?
Future host of Hollywood Squares and The $100,000 Pyramid
Also Time Machine.
The “No” was to her follow-up query regarding if the movement involved walking.
Current GSN uploading these... I'm surprised.
Do you mean other than your hands? Not necessary to give away clues! Working on Paradise Island. Why is he helping the panel by giving clues?
He made the mistake of using his voice!
Did the host always give clues in the original WML like this host just did?
larciabella No.
No they didn't.
Wow, John Davidson looks so young in this March 1969 What's My Line classic!
And everyone is just gushing over him.
I would have given the sweatshirt to Joyce
Moral values for a stripper? That’s an Oxymoron right there folks.
A No wss given to walking or exercise!
Sounds like they had to pull in a bunch of grade schoolers to cheer. Where's Soupy?
Working in nightclubs, making a great living.
Jack Cassidy (David and Sean's dad) has the phoniest sounding fake old movie star accent that serves him well in his TV and film roles because he's a great villain, but on a game show, he sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
Also, was Patrick Cassidy's dad.
@@RonGerstein oh, sorry, I forgot that big star.
Nothing against John Daly but What’s My Line needed to go in a new direction and his style was dated.
That is true, and the newer format could've worked even more had the hurdles of syndication not messed it up. Since they needed more advertising, it led to the show going at a too much faster pace with extra clues and the rushed mystery guest rounds.
Don't be a hater
Three minutes to guess the mystery guest was a ridiculously short amount of time!
@@joeambrose3260 I’m a lover, not a hater.

Teaches strip dancing...who bloody cares!
I care
Wally Bruner was a better host than John Daly.
Oof.
NO WAY, YOU POPPOUS A**!!!!!!!!!
