I absolutely love and admire your ambition... I posted some time ago to share what my late husband and I did when we were in our late 20's. We built a lake home in northern MN. We cleared the land and my husband had the trees dried and made into tongue and groove paneling. We had a wood burning stove in our walk out basement which warmed all the upstairs' floors. The heat was also directed to our sauna. We'd get so hot we'd roll in the snow in winter; jumped in the lake in summer. I love the sweater from Goodwill. I shopped there often and loved telling friends "I got it from Goodwill" when I'd get a compliment!! We raised ducks... They loved visiting all the neighbors' docks BUT in the fall we prepared them for delicious meals. I still recall sitting in our garage making down pillows. They lasted for years... I am 74 now and chose to buy a small home in the desert. I love all the peacefulness.I moved to this spot 5 yrs. ago. I started collecting feathers. One day I found a very small feather with the shape of a heart on it. I truly want to believe God gave my late husband a pass to fly down from heaven to place that feather just for me to discover. I have NEVER found another like it. I put it in a pendant for my daughter. Nature has so much art all around. I'd rather have a bowl of pine cones on my table than have a crystal vase. D

On the topic of your guests stealing your pots.....One of our employees at our guest house stole our bed sheets and I had to go knock on his apartment door and ask for our sheets back. Another time, we also put flowers in a room of one of the guests and had to ask them to send our vase back to us after they left....people will never stop surprising me.... Unreal! Thank you for your food suggestions guys. I went to Superstore yesterday rather than Sobeys and found the Mozzarella plant based sticks and other goodies. Even better that I will be able to watch twice a week. Howdy Guyz!! Great "Hints from Heloise" tip for cleaning the inside glass of your wood stove. Take newspaper & little of the ash & scrub it. The black much cleans off fairly easily! As for your rain water, get a "Berkie" water filter, that make just about any water safe to drink.
You two are too funny lol Todd's innuendo jokes are the best. I am wondering if you are really staying in the 5th wheel during the winter if you should maybe skirt it, close in under the bedroom (make a good shed) and insulate inside the skirting. Then an electric heater underneath but you need shore power.
They can use straw bales and n contractor bags and they won't need to heat. Oh wait, they are in Canada, lol. I was in the mountains of WV in RV in fall and winter and using those made a world of difference. The bags over the straw keeps critters out btw

Small tip to keep your small glass door from the stove really clean. Use copper polish I am using it over here in Sweden for years now. Quick and easy🥰
That little stove is impressive. I live in a manufactured home and have been thinking of putting in a wood stove for a while. I haven't used my furnace for a couple years because it's so expensive. I bought small space heaters for the bedrooms and have an electric fireplace which works fine. Luckily it doesn't get cold here for an other month. Sour patch kids are my favorite! I have to admit, I'm not an expert about heaters. However, a couple of years ago our building was looking into replacing our electrical heaters in the hallways and I was really surprised about what new ideas are available out there. The new electric heaters we got were way smaller than what we had previously, and I had my doubts. But I was totally amazed at the heat they gave off even though they were much smaller. This was in part due to the fact that the heater has a built in fan that pushes the warm air about. It also has a built in thermostat so it turns off once it reaches a certain temperature. I'm on the west coast of Canada and we have government run utilities. I'm amazed how much info and tips are available through the utilities company. They do a lot of research and are keen about sustainability etc. Look into independent info thats available in your area to find more economically viable option for your heating. We can all sympathize with you.
I live in 900 square feet in Chicago and have no idea how to change a light bulb. You two simply amaze me. Need pots...I have lived here for 26 years and the oven has never been on...no joke...where should I send the pots? Two amazing men. Handsome, funny, handy, dog lovers, and best of all, im love.

An added benefit of heating with wood stove is it nearly eliminates condensation on the inside windows. You might need to actually keep a pan of water on the stove to add humidity to the room air.

Not really, I lived 8 months in an RV so I'll be fine but your redo is much nicer than the ugly traditional RV colors and style I had to live with. Howdy Guyz!! Great "Hints from Heloise" tip for cleaning the inside glass of your wood stove. Take newspaper & little of the ash & scrub it. The black much cleans off fairly easily! As for your rain water, get a "Berkie" water filter, that make just about any water safe to drink.
Any paper (paper towel, etc) or cloth works. Dip the paper/cloth in some water then into the ash and rub the glass. It's like magic!
You two are too funny lol Todd's innuendo jokes are the best. I am wondering if you are really staying in the 5th wheel during the winter if you should maybe skirt it, close in under the bedroom (make a good shed) and insulate inside the skirting. Then an electric heater underneath but you need shore power.
They can use straw bales and n contractor bags and they won't need to heat. Oh wait, they are in Canada, lol. I was in the mountains of WV in RV in fall and winter and using those made a world of difference. The bags over the straw keeps critters out btw

Small tip to keep your small glass door from the stove really clean. Use copper polish I am using it over here in Sweden for years now. Quick and easy🥰
That little stove is impressive. I live in a manufactured home and have been thinking of putting in a wood stove for a while. I haven't used my furnace for a couple years because it's so expensive. I bought small space heaters for the bedrooms and have an electric fireplace which works fine. Luckily it doesn't get cold here for an other month. Sour patch kids are my favorite! I have to admit, I'm not an expert about heaters. However, a couple of years ago our building was looking into replacing our electrical heaters in the hallways and I was really surprised about what new ideas are available out there. The new electric heaters we got were way smaller than what we had previously, and I had my doubts. But I was totally amazed at the heat they gave off even though they were much smaller. This was in part due to the fact that the heater has a built in fan that pushes the warm air about. It also has a built in thermostat so it turns off once it reaches a certain temperature. I'm on the west coast of Canada and we have government run utilities. I'm amazed how much info and tips are available through the utilities company. They do a lot of research and are keen about sustainability etc. Look into independent info thats available in your area to find more economically viable option for your heating. We can all sympathize with you.

Have you considered a Berkey Water filter system? You would then be able to use your catchment system for drinking water as well. I LOVE mine!
An added benefit of heating with wood stove is it nearly eliminates condensation on the inside windows. You might need to actually keep a pan of water on the stove to add humidity to the room air.
