What do you suggest for knee osteoarthritis and need to build bones

It is clear that you have not heard of Dr. Fisherman's 12 poses for osteoporosis. Please research it, Yoga if done for this purpose can put the pressure & help build bones!!

Yes, yes I have. I know him and have interviewed him. He was a part of my summit in May infact.. and you'll find several videos here include him and mention of yoga and osteoporosis. Just don't stop there.. you want ground force impact and you also want resistance training. The gold you have from all levels of intensity and all angles of stimulus allow the most optimal improvements in bone density we see across the research.

I rebound almost daily. Less damage to joints ( only on a high quality rebounder , I use David Hall cellersizer). I have 100% bone density. The guy testing me said that my bone Density is off the charts! Plus I lift heavy weights 2xs a week

I'm just getting back to feeling balanced and working out again. I try to explain to my family and friends about what I'm doing because of the menopause. It's alot that I've learned and just want to be as healthy as possible in this phase of me. Thank you for this info.

I have to go much slower with getting back in some what better shape. I have a long recovery time with little exercise! Baby steps for me. I now use a rebounder, resistant bands and do body weight exercise. I have to remind myself that some is better than none.

I was in a similar situation: have your insulin levels checked - investigate for metabolic syndrome. I had 3 of the 5 markers. Found a functional medicine doc and nutritionist I'm working with to increase my healthspan and body image. In only 4 months no more pain and down to 2 markers. No more insulin resistence. All conventional docs ignored my symptoms cuz to them I'm great since I eat healthy, exercise, meditate. But, I wasn't great - my list of symptoms increased over a 5 yr period while I was being ignored by medical professionals. Looks can be deceiving. Test, don't guess.

@@dmbsteinberg thank you. I do get regular physicals and love my DO. She is very open minded. I know my fasting sugar is great and so is my cholesterol. However this happened after my last check up. My next is in the fall. The pain left, so that is good. I will mention this to her and get additional testing.

Great food for thought, I’ve already fractured both my wrists (among other bone fractures) years ago, in a month I’ll be 70, But for several months I do strength training 10 min every other day). and I actually see muscles popping up on both my arms, and I love it, so I’m hoping I do strength training- the right way, in doing heavy weights- small weight in repetition. I also would like to add that I do get a shot of Prolia every six months for my osteoporosis, and since then I have not fractured anything! And I also walk 1-1/2 miles every other day.
I should add I had a complete hysterectomy in 2000 and I’ve never taken any HRT. Sorry for the long comment.

@@sl4983 Thank you so much for answering me so quickly. Simply from falling the wrong way and I have been diagnosed much earlier for the osteoporosis. Since the Prolia and the strength exercises and walking it’s been years since my last fall. I should mention my last fracture five years ago was two compressed vertebrae

I used to have nice workout at the gym in my 40s. Now I’m 61, on the border to osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and Hashimoto’s. I got a stationary bike, a treadmill, stepper and vibration machine. I need to learn a daily routine that involves weights but don’t know how to start. S a weighted vest good for walking? And the kettle weights are a good addition? Thank you for your videos 😊

Would resistance band build the same as free weights? I have both at home but am topping out on my weights, and really don’t want to keep buying heavier dumbbells.

    • @lynnettebrown9808

In my experience the answer is yes, bands work your muscles fairly hard through the whole motion of the exercise. I also do a few body weight exercises for example wall press, then desk height press, and doorframe pull.

I'm trying to lose weight and I have a question regarding nutrition. I consistently try and eat 120-140 grams of protein. However, I find this really hard to do while limiting my calories to 1600 per day. Is it better to hit my protein goal or my calorie goal? I do lift weights and do HIIT a couple of times a week, so when answering my question assume I am optimally working out. Thanks so much for your content.
