  • It may cause a divorce but I bought a Hesston 560 for $1000. Buying used hay equipment is a gamble, and the older it is the bigger the gamble your hay equipment becomes. So when I saw this Hesston 560 on the side of the road I had to stop. $1000 later and it followed me home for 6 hours. My gamble paid off but if you value your marriage you may want to ensure your $1000 gamble does too.

    My Hesston 740 round baler plugs when the hay is really dry or a touch wet, but after I get the first bale or to out of the way it functions pretty well. Not sure on bale tension setting as I didn't get a manual when I grabbed this baler up. Overall coming from using a New holland BR740, the Hesston makes a good tight bale and am pleased with it. Good luck!

    Cheapest Hesston 560 on tractorHouse is $4600 and the next one is almost $10k. The way my wife shops, that would equate to you saving 3-7k dollars.

    Here's a bit of advice from an old man that has done a lot of bailing, when raking hay roll it into a roll it will feed into the baler better and you won't leave any edges of the windrow in the field, enjoy your videos keep it up!!

    The bale density is one of the dials on the valve body on the sid rod the baler you will have to trace the lines to figure out witch one same for twine it’s a dial on the valve body or add another twine so you put 2 twine strings on at once

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw the valves but never made any changes to them. I'm in the process of getting a book from agco for it. Thanks for your help!

  • @straightpipeacres6365
    @straightpipeacres6365 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yep i think its the top valve thats the density of the baler and the othr one is how much twine you want on the bale. Probably too late for the comment but hopefully it helps

  • @ramiller5675
    @ramiller5675 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm not sure if it's exactly the same, but I have a Hesston 565A baler that looks almost the same. There should be a knob back towards the oil tank that you use to release the belt tension, and above that knob there are two smaller knobs (they both have set screws, so don't just start adjusting them without loosening the set screws) that you can adjust to set the bale density and the speed of the twine arm. I don't have the manual in front of me so I can't tell you which one is which or how to adjust them besides warning that it doesn't take much to turning to make your adjustment. There are also two different positions (6" and 8" twine spacings) for one of the twine arms, it 's just a matter of taking a bolt out and moving the arm on my baler. It might take a little trial and error to figure out the twine spacing and the twine arm speed to get the bale tied the way you prefer.
    The problem with the tailgate not closing automatically is likely a plug problem, something's worn or a pin isn't all the way out, etc.

      You are my hero! The 565 and 560 are very similar, I believe yours is the next model newer and even offered net wrap. Is there any way you could email the pages from the manual so I can start my trial and error process to dial it in? travis@freedomfarmsmo.com
