First time I watched Qairan Elim I was speechless. The fire definitely took me by surprise. Now that I've watchet it a 'few' times it is just a clear message of sorrow and despair and hope and strength all mixed in to one. I absolutely love the moments of stillness before the chorus, with the ticking... and the end when Dimash's voice is almost beseeching. The world is going through a tough time but there is definite hope for a better future.

That's how many of us reacted after first time. Only when I've listen as you said it a "few" times. I could see and hear a hope. But the first ones was a total shock.

Lauren...I've enjoyed your reactions from the past. Your analysis, explanations, and instructions are clear and edifying. I am a 78 year old retired teacher, musician, singer/songwriter, and professional performer. Discovering Dimash's genius and then many other great singers outside of my own country (USA) has resurrected my Musical Soul. I would like to add a note about Dimash that so often goes unnoticed. He was a child prodigy who had perfect pitch at age 2. His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan who started his intense vocal training when he was 5 years old. He has been performing both singing and playing piano since age 6. At 26 he has also earned a B.A. in Classical Voice, an M.A. in Contemporary Voice (pop, jazz, R & B), and an M.A. un Music Composition. His musical influences range from Lara Fabian to Andrea Bocelli, to Michael Jackson. He passed up a position with The Kazakhstan National Opera at age 22 to pursue a career in pop music in which he try to create a new genre that mixes classical, contemporary, jazz, and the Kazakh traditional folk elements. It has been labeled "Popera."

PLEASE : "Salmantau" from the Tokyo jazzfestival is a rescent one you would have missed. Filmed in his own studio at home. The story is about the russian opression and how they in the first part of the 1900 simply forced kazakhs from their land to join in russian wars. The song is created out of a letter written by a distraught, desperate young man forced from his beloved home in the mountains (Salmantau) to go into war (a war that is not his own). And he leaves elderly parents behind who will not be able to care for themseves. He longes for the breeze from his beloved mountain, his home that he most lightly might never see again.
Kazakhstan has a very brutal and tremendesly sad history. It was declared an independed state just in 1991.
Dimash is carrying his great love and pride and all the feelings of the history of his beloved homeland with his whole soul... And his love for humanity itself. I think that is why he has people crying all over the world. He is abel to connect his deep developed soul with ours (especially all the Dears)...
Love and Peace from Dear in Sweden. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏

Wow! So great to see you again, Lauren!
    😍😍😍😍
    Dimash directed this.
Our world is burning in 2020 (Aus and California LITERALLY), people are scarred (the blood), people are dying(the pianist), but at the end there is hope ( the green sunshine backdrop as we pass over that mountain).
    So inspirational.

You cut off the incredible start to this video, its a shame as it set up the mood and meaning. Also you missed that it said this video is the Directoral debut, and wow what a debut. His voice is incredible and the visuals match him beautifully. This is a true work of art. You might be interested to know that Dimash will be the first Kazakh singer to sing entirely in Kazakh on MTV. On Friday 2nd October at primitive between 5pm and 10pm they will feature him and its my bet they show this but who knows, with Dimash. Love, love, love this song and video ❤❤❤

    • @gdouglas999
      @gdouglas999 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@ptxdearpearsDQ Oh right, "Love of Tired Swans" is in Russian, not Kazakh. That eliminates that one. Which makes me think it can only be Qairan or something brand new since "My Swan" and "My Beauty" (both in Kazahk) are too old. I, too, worry that folks who are new to him might be unimpressed if the video is too limiting in terms of Dimash's complexities. We shall see, won't we? I'm on the US west coast so I'll be starting to watch at 2pm my time.

@@ptxdearpearsDQ As a huge and long time fan, I have to confess that Qairan didn't impress me the first time I saw it---in fact, it turned me off due to the violence at the end--and I suspect many seeing this represent Dimash for the first time would not have any idea of his range and complexity. So now that I think about it further I find myself hoping for something entirely new and spectacular!

@@Karin_Aquatica Yeah as much as i love this Video, i don't think it is such a good choice for this Occasion, despite the Climax at the End, it is more an intimate (inbrünstiger) Song, nothing "flashy" to grab the Listener on MTV..

Thank you for your reaction to "Qairan Elim"!
The song and the visuals express Dimash's feelings during the devastating pandemic. It's a heartfelt prayer for his homeland and the world. Everyone interpret the visuals in their own way. For me the fire is an image of incinerating pain and destruction. The dark symbols of blood and death convey suffering and grief. Dimash and the musicians in the video hurt with their own pain and the pain of the people and express the ordeal in their art. The final image of Dimash, burnt with ashes falling from him, may refer to the myth of the phoenix rising from the ashes and the visuals change into colors as an image of hope.

In the case of the pianist, this man Renat Gaissin is the composer of the song. (The piano was likely a hollow prop, considering some short vids I saw of the terrain here, it couldn't have been easily moved if it weren't hollow)

Thank you for your reaction to this masterpiece which Dimash co-directed. The piano player is Renat Gaissin the composer of this hauntingly beautiful melody. On Dimash’s official page you can get a deeper insight into what the song is about. en.dimashnews.com/2020/08/09/a-new-video-qairan-elim-was-released-on-dimashs-channel/ The video was recorded in the region of Almaty Kazakhstan. The different landscapes in one region are pretty impressive. For me this song sounds like a prayer not only for Kazakhstan but for the whole world too. It makes me emotional and kind of worried first but at the end I know Dimash is about to catch me before I fall with his voice. Giving hope, light and power for a colorful and bright future. Especially I love that the video is full of symbolism and you discover many details only watching it more than one time.

This is Dimash's debut as a director . Actually the beginning sets the stage for the whole video. I would recommend watching it (included the words below). He is singing in Kazakh and all the scenery is around Almaty Kazakhstan.
Dimash is very, very deeply rooted in his culture. Alot of this is about the history but its also his expression of the pandemic and loosing people close to him due to it. He's an incredibly old soul who's caring runs deep through him. He's mentioned many times of his concern of the state of the world currently. 💙💙
Here is an article explaining the MV. en.dimashnews.com/2020/08/09/a-new-video-qairan-elim-was-released-on-dimashs-channel/
    Words at the beginning:
    The Great Steppe.
I am speaking of the land which spreads across the four directions.
I am speaking of the Altai mountains and the region of Atyrau, the rivers Zhaiyk and Ile, the Alatau mountain range and the Saryarka Uplands, about the finest vast lands of all time.
I am speaking of the Great Steppe, the cradle of the Turkic realm, which gave rise to the nomads.
O silent world, do not hold your breath inside!
You have a generation who boldly withstood the struggle,
A kind owner with a generous soul and a compassionate character, constant against the dark transgressions of a changing world.
The Great Steppe has a guardian spirit, unknown to a stranger, incomprehensible to an outsider.

Unfortunate people just reacting for subscribers with fake emotions. I do not speak their language, but I know this song has a powerful message. People just laughing and make comments cool and stuff nice CGI cool effect, and yawning. This is the problem in the world today. No heart no feelings. Before you react to something, you should know what is the song about if you call your self expert. But the video clip it self is obviously Dimash not singing happy and do not laughing. Video shows fire blood, these are symbols not for happiness. Also if you have knowledge about music and songs and vocals, you should recognize what could be a song about, from the tempo of the music, the singer voice etc. If you can't, you shouldn't be doing reactions as an expert.
