Terrific! The boys of the "Bando da Lua", who accompanied Carmen Miranda in her shows, movies & records are perfoming with Cass Daley themselves! Certainly with Carmen Miranda's consent. Many many thanks for sharing this!
Oh boy - yet another satire of Carmen Miranda! This one is out of the ordinary, though, because it's performed by an actual woman instead of the usual man in drag: Mickey Rooney, Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, Bugs Bunny...
Thanks a million for sharing that recording; I've got to try to find a copy of the record, and also the sheet music! It's true that this is a side of Miss Daley that was seen all too seldom.

Lucille Ball's rendition made this really famous. Cass was underrated as a star imo.
This woman is fantastic!
I think that’s José Oliveira (voice of José Carioca from The Three Caballeros) on the right playing the ukulele.
Thanks for posting. She is great.

Well THAT was unexpected! Fun, definitely, but unexpected.
Too bad she never sang sentimental ballads; she really had a fine voice. Like Betty Hutton, she was type-cast into comic numbers.
MrManorAvenue But she did sing ballads! Listen to this record from 1953: th-cam.com/video/jLtFdR5poUQ/w-d-xo.html

Maybe only Cass could segue from Miranda into Jolson without a break. Some of her schtick must have been borrowed by Lucy.
I agree 100 per cent !! The late great Ms Daley was a true "one of a kind" !!
I know this song because caution Tom and Jerry
