Cool video 👍. Supposedly you can do that to the early Honda Foreman 400. You put the 400 rear shocks on the front, then put Foreman 450 rear shocks on the rear. Gives you 2" lift & ¾" more travel. There's always a way ☺️
I did the same thing to mine about four years ago....I put a six inch stretch on the swing arm but the front I went back to the factory shocks. Rancher shocks put to much of a bind on the CV axles.
Your tires seem same size except width. Doesn't 4x4 need 1inch smaller on front diameter to not mess up the front diffs? Hoping you can educate me. Mines 4x4 n I want new tires
On the 300s from the factory the front tires are 1” smaller. However many people have ran same size front and rear and didn’t have an issue. I didn’t have an issue at all. The ratios are slightly different but honestly it shouldn’t cause an issue
So I CAN run all 4 same size? Hmm OK. I'm thinking about new tires soon but need new shocks too. Probably gonna do the rancher shocks all around for the lift also. Thanks for the info. I daily drive mine and sometimes have to goto Walmart with it. (10 miles concrete driving). Bad on tires but don't wanna hurt the front diff either
@@CheyenneBullard wow yeah it looks great I been binge watching your vids I like it so mu h lol .cause like I said I just bought a 92 and you giving me alot of ideas .what year is yours cause I wanna know if the shocks you put on yours will fit a 92 2x4
So since the 300fw has a solid rear axle, does installing a lift kit (or in your case lift via shocks) actually increase the rear clearance in combination with the front? I know it will the front since it is independent suspension, the center in the front will be higher at the cost of reducing the center of gravity (pulling tires in a bit, and pushing center mas higher up). That said, since the rear has a solid axle, all the lift would do would push the rear deck of the ATV to the same height as the front, but not raise the axle any higher off the ground. The only way to really increase clearance for the rear solid axle is to get taller (bigger circumference) tires yes? I need a bit more overall clearance for plowing snow in winter and clearing obstacles when maintaining the property (like fallen trees and rocks, etc.)
Hi so yes for are correct! I gained 2” of Grenada clearance in the front and none in the rear. I’m the rear because of the sra the only way you can gain ground clearance there is by getting a taller tire. Which I chose these zillas because they are super light. The rear shock just raised the body of the rear of the atv
@@CheyenneBullard ah that's what I thought. Thanks. What other mods did you do to yours btw? I was looking to do a BBK, but to buy the pistons, get the head bored out and re-sleved, etc, they cost like 700 for everything. I see alot of trx300ex and other brand top end BBK for like $200 (from china in assume) Any cheeper alternatives, maybe like the head off a different atv, that you know of are compatible even if not "officially" so?
@@Orvis25 you’re welcome! So far just the shocks. Uni filter, tires, the front disc brake conversion kit and a diff rebuild. I’m torn on the bbk as well. Greg Junior makes a 400 bbk that I want but I can’t justify spending the $700 at the moment on that when it is running fine currently. I personally wouldn’t trust the Chinese kits because of quality and longevity issues that you can easily find on the internet.
