This sounds like being in a relationship with a narcissist, they always prey on empaths. I love his use of the word sycophants....a perfect word, in my opinion, to describe love bombing. He describes never feeling like enough.....octopusing himself just to be seen. Heartbreaking. I love how art provokes so many different interpretations. Bravo. Thanks for being so brave.
Precious Daigh I don’t think her intent was associating narcissism with polyamory in any way, it was just her interpretation of the meaning of the song. For the meaning of the song changes each time I listen, or depending on what mood I’m in, like most great songs.
Precious Daigh I get it. My last relationship was polyamorous but it happened to be with a very toxic person so I suppose the overall lesson is that mono/poly can work and can’t work depending on the individuals. It’s hard for people to have faith in things they’ve seen fall apart, whether it’s a parents marriage scaring them from divorce, a failed monogamous relationship tainted the idea of that format, or an unhealthy version of poly scaring oneself from that. It’s hard to remember when you’re with someone that they are a completely new person. We sometimes struggle keeping our past out of the present when it comes to romance, I think.
This song is going to force ppl to have uncomfortable conversations about the expectations of love. Thank you for opening up that heavy door! I love you!
I can’t wait for the general public to catch onto this guy. I’ve expected him to already have blown up by now but I guess it’s gonna take a bit of time. But once he does, he’s gonna be called “artist of the year” all day every day, I’m sure of that.
very brave video, it's terrifying staring into a camera knowing you're being watched, it's like going on a stage, thousands of thoughts racing through your mind but all burning out in seconds like small objects entering the stratosphere. To do this for 4 minutes is intense.
"thousands of thoughts racing through your mind but all burning out in seconds like small objects entering the stratosphere" Thank you for that mental image; perfectly stated
I think I have cried in silence with no tears, and with tears it’s been a long long time, someone special to me told hey when you ever get that moment do it for your own good and cry. It is healthy
That was beyond.. I've always thought you looked like an Archangel. Today you looked human, too. I heavily related to some of the concepts here. Thank you for expressing emotion, you beautiful soul.
There are few songs that I NEVER get tired of because I don’t even listen to them like a normal song. I just press play and FEEL the emotion and the time flies by. This is one of those songs for me
I think it's illegal for you to make me feel so much at 12 am... also I've listened to Virile on repeat for a month so it's nice to be able to listen to a new song.
His soul is ancient and ever-feeling.... it’s magical that he can express such emotion in his music..... for one that is empath, this song speaks truth......🙏🏿🌻❤️
This song describes all of my feelings. Especially being hollow as a hallway. Normally I'd be balling my eyes out . . . I just feel so numb right now. I'll have to come back when I can truly appreciate and connect with this. Mr. Moses, thank you
I've never heard of you before, I don't even remember why I clicked this video. But I am absolutely in love, this is one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a while. I can't wait to explore more of your music.
I personally taking a guess at polyamrous lovers. He says spitting himself in 2. Polyamorous means having sex with many different sex types not just heterosexual partnering. Like I said this my take on this beautiful song tho ☺
Bee real Bee real this is so insightful. if that is true, then this takes the song to another level!!!!! i genuinely didn’t make the connection until now 😱😱😱
@@notsonaughty Polyamorous means loving/being in romantic relationships with multiple people. It doesn't always include sex nor does it require one to be in relationship with people of different genders. There are many different styles of polyamory. Also, true polyamory requires informed, willing consent of everyone involved. The situation described in the song isn't that, though some monogamous people want to be with polya people and get involved when they can't handle the fact that their partner won't be with them exclusively. And there are some folks who claim to be polya but aren't, they just use that name to falsely justify their disregard for a partner.
@@cats.8881 Thank you Catherine, this is the best summary of polyamory I've read. Also, as Moses studied poetry before getting into music, I'm confident that the allusion was intentional.
the "or you just love dancin" line reminds me of "after one sonnet about you, they love you. after a few hundred, they might just love sonnets." love of form over subject..
Thank you. I am facing a period full of stress and sadness and I really needed this, I needed to stop and cry alone (with you). now I feel better. Your music is so powerful.
I tried scrolling past this video, but something in my soul told me I needed to watch it. Thank you for this art, for the raw emotion, and for the truth which blessed my ears ❤️
This is so beautiful. Probably my favourite of yours so far. I can't wait for the double album. If the two sound bites we've gotten so far is any indication, you're going to kill it in 2020.
thanks no thanks for making me cry my eyes out at 12 pm during a workday. also this is one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen/heard. also you deserve the best things in life and i hope so much the upcoming album would get you the recognition you deserve.
Watching you cry broke my heart! I never want to see you crazy!!! Wish I could make those tears happy and invisible! Love the song and authenticity! Thank you for being you and sharing your beautiful gift with us all!!! You’re so worthy and ETHEREAL!!!
Moses, seriously I’ve played ur Music to different peps, my parents and friends. Everyone is Blown away. And actually The ones who are most blown away are The older and people who havent been Exposed to u before U are such a gem, even though our genres of Music collide… Then Talent has to be realized and acknowledged And U got it brother Love it
From the bottom of my heart to yours, thank u for this. This is genuinely one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard I can sit here for hours writing why this is a masterpiece. But I think a lot of the comments in the comment section just capture why it is. Thank you again
Fucking hell, Moses. I needed this. I do the thing I think this video does. I like to be prepared for anything so that I'm not caught off guard. I'll go through fake conversations in my head just to see how I'll react. They always reveal much more about me than the person I'm pretending to converse with. And sometimes those things aren't pretty. But they shift. It's almost like turning someone into a "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" flower. Except with those the idea is to go through their actions that point to yes or no. Yet here the video is focused on a single scene of dancing. Instead, your reactions become the flower petals. Personally, it's cathartic. It's been a badd few months and I feel like I finally have something to dive into.
AN ARTIST!! I love him! I am trying to interpret his projects... I am sure we all get different messages and feelings... Isn't that the embodiment of art?
Is it just me that notices references to polyethylene (plastic) in the sea? "You remain in motion, bottom of the ocean", "sea sea polly" both suggest this
@@sibongiletasilaphiri7521 Hahaha. With environmental issues being at political forefront and his known influences of Radiohead (with song 'Polyethylene), I thought I'd take a put. My ganja days are a bit behind me I'm afraid
I thought of it as "Polly" - a common name for a parrot. "Because of their endearing ignorance of what they are actually saying when they repeat phrases they've learned, Jonson describes them as parrots" The beauty of music = interpretation. It's as beautiful as what it means to you.
this is exactly what I needed to listen/feel this morning, sometimes a sad song makes you feel happy. feel related in so many ways, thank you for that emotional connection Moses.
So heartbreaking. I felt this. The lyrics, the song, the video, everything is fucking emotional, but damn you make such great art that people can relate to and feel. Thank you so much.
Every time I watch this video I end up speaking out loud to the screen, "you're going to be okay." My understanding is it's about polyamory, which is a valid choice. But it's not for everyone. And this sensitive young guy - I was once a sensitive young woman - seems to be suffering for it. Luckily he knows how to turn his pain into art. Wish I'd known that when I was a 28-year-old. I think his vulnerability is a strength and it will help him be okay.
My goodness…you are so beautiful. Your talent touched my empathic nature at its core through this video. I want to wrap my arms around you and hold your spirit until the pain is over. You remind me of my 23 year old son. I wish I could have saved him from his heart breaking as I’m sure most mothers do. Anyway…thank you for gracing us with another amazing video/musical genius.🙏🏼💕
you are so amazing and so beautiful and this ripped right through me! such a beautiful song and moving video. I and many others have such a deep love for you and your art!
