i already have a pum virtual instance with image 42 deployed on it.i want to use the same server for the latest image too..now i need to download virtual box or native OS downlaods?
Thank you, Meenakshi for reaching out. Unfortunately, I did not try upgrading the existing PUM instance to the latest ones. I normally delete old one and create a new PUM instance for trying out new features. When I get an opportunity let me try upgrading existing PUM instance and will update you if I am successful.

@@meenakshishankar5867 I did not try but I have seen people using the same VirtualBox to load multiple applications one for HR and other for Finance.

I have been unable to download the software from Oracle support sites. It's giving an error "You do not have permission to download patches. Request permission from your company's My Oracle Support administrator". Kindly help me on this issue.

Hector, with a vanilla installation, I'm using 6.2GB without doing anything other than logging in. That's for every process running on my 4cpu / 16GB Win2019Svr on AWS. So I'd say 8GB might just allow you to try it out but you might still run into bottlenecks if you try to run some large processes. Only one way to find out though....

Attempting to install HCM and am encountering the extract process (during the install) halting after the first extract (10 of 11 was successful per the log not message on the monitor). No errors just is sitting in place.
Sorry to hear that Jim. By any chance do you see any error message in the log file (psft_dpk_setup.txt) that exists in the setup folder?

I was researching your error message, one of the solutions I found was "The issue occurs because the hostname is not defined properly in Windows environment" mapping IP address to the windows host name. @@sanjayrajsathyaveera2920 To be honest I am not exactly sure what needs to be done, I would check the installation logs located in the setup folder and look for any guidance. Here is some additional info I found on web when the installation fails: "Continue with the DPK Setup. Go back to the first command prompt window, where the DPK failure happened.Change to the BASE_DIR and run psft_puppet_apply.cmd" .

Dear, another question I have is that there is a difference between a PUM Installation and another FRESH.
If I install a new environment to leave behind my version of HR 9.1, to be my development environment, could I choose FRESH and start in HR9.2?

Hi Nicolas, Thank you for reaching out. I believe if do NOT plan to generate a change package, I mean if you do NOT plan to pull the latest bug fixes from Oracle, then you can go for FRESH install. I have a query, install "PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Image 37 in PeopleTools 8.58" on a windows server, through the DPKs provided by oracle support: the installation was successful.
But when I want to install elasticsearch for global searches, I see that the version that is downloaded with the DPK is 2.3.2.
* Should I download version 7.0 in another DPK and do the deploy?
* For global views is elasticsearch sufficient or should I install the entire ELK package?
* Documentation in Spanish know where I can get?

Yes you need to download separate dpk for elastic search compatible with your peopletools version. In oracle support site, a chart is given for dpk compatibility with tools version.
Hey Siva, I've rarely installed a new PS environment for the past 6 years and these new installation types are confusing. Can you please explain the difference between PUM and DPK? I understand they automate and greatly reduce the install process. But how do I choose one over the other if I need to install on a bare-metal machine?

DPK means deployment kit, basically, they are PeopleSoft environment installation files whereas PUM means PeopleSoft update manager assists the PeopleSoft upgrade process (If you are x level, you want to go to y level, it will create a package for you to install). Hey Rock, That's a great question. To be honest, I never tried this so I might not be the right person to answer this question. Having said that, I believe it is definitely possible both in case of VirtualBox and Native PeopleSoft Installations if you make sure installation directories are totally different, your computer should have enough disk space as well as ample amount of RAM for processing. Hi Siva, I completed the installation successfully. I am able to login to PIA with PS/PS. However connect ID and Access ID are not working when when tried to connect data mover. I did the installation twice. My passwords are correct. Could you please tell me what could be wrong?

I have tried it many times , by reinstalling OS on the machines disabling AV as you said and none of the article says a correct fix

@@spk8086 I am really sorry to hear that you are having issues, I installed PeopleSoft several times, each time I go with regular passwords like SYS/SYSTEM - I used SYSTEM as password, For database access ID, I used password - SYSADM. I never had an issue. I am wondering if there are any other error messages in the installation logs. I am sorry for being little help in your case. Thanks, Siva
For access id, you cant use a password more than 8 chars. That will be the same for your database user id password

@@rahulranjan2413 Yes. You're right. This is a bug from Oracle. Check out Doc ID:2793285.1 in Oracle support. This is the solution suggested by Oracle
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Please open a Service Request and attach the below log to the SR:
/opt/oracle/psft/dpk/setup/psft_dpk_setup.log
2. Download Patch 33121140: E-PUM:VBOX FAILS AT PROMPT - PUM OR FRESH WITH "TYPEERROR: OBJECT OF TYPE 'NON"…
The password to download the patch will be provided to you through the SR.
3. Follow the directions outlined in the SR or the Readme file delivered with the patch.

Very helpful video Siva, thanks for making and sharing with PeopleSoft community, I am able to install PS92/Tool858 without any issue, configured IB also and tested some rest api successfully, but got stuck in process scheduler which went down after working for sometime, now when I connect as psadmin and try to boot/shutdown process scheduler it does not start process scheduler and it always shows as down in process monitor, what am I missing? Can you please help? How do I bring it up?

Hi Lalit, Thank you for reaching out. I believe for the default PeopleSoft HR Demo Instance, User ID, and Password maybe SYSADM / SYSADM unless you used a different User ID and Password during the installation process. Please try and let me know how it goes. Thanks Siva
