I've heard that Brutfuner pencils are a good replacement for some of the more expensive waxy pencils like the prismacolors/polychromos. I know you've just done a pencil review so understand if you'd rather do something else 💕

From a teachers perspective, they are great because they give kids the ability to experience artist tools, such as neocolor 2’s but are protected by wood so they don’t break :)

3 in one is because you can use them as a crayon, a watercolor, or colored pencil. that's what is meant by 3 in 1. they are a super cool supply, but the price is insane.
They are fabulous! You can get them at a discount if you watch prices online. To me they are a different animal altogether. Many many many full fledged artists are using them and promote them! I love coloring with them and then using a water brush to activate the painterly qualities. They are not meant to sharpen to a point. I don’t think you understand the uses of these. They are fabulous.

You need to watch the frugal crafter and Elizabeth St Hilaire‘a video’s on these!! Elizabeth St Hilaire mentions how to layer products so you don’t reactivate many products!!! THEY ARE AMAZING!
Thank you so much for your input Debi! You are absolutely right! If they are meant to do that and it's something you enjoy in an art supply, then it can absolutely be a wonderful quality. With the way that I use them, smudging to me is a con but that is just a personal preference.
So with all of my pricier pencils I use an exacto knife, I'm guessing you can use one on yhe stabilo too, obviously not for kids, and to be done with caution.

Actually there are 6 more colors available open stock. All 6 are pastels tones. Blick doesnt have them. I found them on Cult Pens, but the shipping is so expensive I can't buy them... for now.
Great question! I ended up splitting up the set along with some other supplies that didn't work for me and sold them in destash bundles in my etsy shop.
