    Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the great video series. If it hadn't been for your wonderful videos I would not have taken this project on. I am not much of amodeler, but I just completed my build and, like I said, your videos were the motivation! I mounted the transmission vertically in mine and utilized the lid off a can of sardines for a skidplate...lol. Also, I utilized a Sabertooth 2x12 RC. The hardest part of the build, for me, was getting the darn drive sprockets set up correctly and you're right about the need for the modification on the sprocket teeth...skips without doing "something". THANKS AGAIN!!! The only thing i cannot figure out is how to make the steering work correctly in reverse (it's backwards in reverse). If there's a mix in the transmitter or something I should be doing, I have not yet figured that out. No big deal, once a person gets used to it.

    I took mine out the box and started to take measurements. I am going to build a full metal version and hopefully it will be 200lbs so I can really play with it.

    • @juddphillips
      @juddphillips  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it couldn't weigh 200 lbs even if it was a solid brick of lead

    • @juddphillips
      @juddphillips  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      a block of lead that's 10"x6"x5" is only 129 lbs ;)

      @@juddphillips I'm using my Bruder for scaling only and will build a bigger scale. I'm using 1/4" plate, wheelchair motors, 8 inch sprockets, .75" axle shaft, etc....I'm tearing apart a build I had started 3 years ago. I started uploading on TH-cam before I canceled it out. The frame with tracks is heavy already. Tracks were about 170 dollars

    That's cool! But what happens when you break link in the track? For a toy for the equipment needed for that is about 100 bucks or little more. pretty sweet!

    I'd love to see you do one of the skid steer that was on the box. I think it would be pretty cool and fun to see.

    Hi , friend I am a big fan of his work , and make sure you inspire many people to modify their bruder models. Could you list the items you used this model in particular ? Sorry for the English had to use google. Congratulations and good luck always

    I'm really glad that you, of all people, finally did a step-by-step conversion. This is the only one that I know of on youtube.
    But 1 question: Would this project work with a regular radio, or would I have to have something similar to the radio that you run?
    How is the excavator project going? is it going to work right with the actuators?

  • @jacobhendrickson8935

    Pretty cool but with the saber tooth module makes it kinda pricey for what it is

    • @juddphillips
      @juddphillips  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Hendrickson yeah there pricey but if you went with 2 esc it wouldn't work the same and would cost more and take up alot more of the limited space to work with.
