When the band started in 2018 (girls aged between 7 and 12 at the time), there were 6 members, that rose to 7 official members and peaked at 8. When the war started only 5 made it to Germany and they've stayed at 5 since then.
Yes, there was 6 originally. After all being displaced because of the war only 5 are able to reconnect. I'm so happy you are checking them out, they have so many great songs. Most are very different styles from song to song but all are always great. No this makeup is just this video
The song is about the pain and loss they have experienced (Do you really want to Feel). They sometimes dress up for videos, the have a making of video for this, called Backstage Feels and they talk about the clothes and make-up for the video.
Hi, Ancient One! I love your analysis of the lyrics after the song. It's such a great way to cap it off as it always adds to the appreciation of the piece. Like mentioning the question of whether feeling too much is a good or a bad thing and that juxtaposition of growly makeup and the big smile. It becomes more powerful somehow, like how carnival music can be creepy instead of joyful. Now looks who's rambling! Love your work as always. 💛
For there Fashion, all just thrown together at the last minute, either borrowed from each other or from goodwill. That wig she had for years as a Halloween costume she had never used and was , she said , very itchy. Makeup was to fit the video. No they dont normaly look like that but they put a lot of effort and creativity into there videos and music. everyone is different
From beautiful and heartbreaking to hard-rocking to quirky and fun, The Sixsters do it all! Very talented and creative. The "Seem to Dance" and "City" mvs are personal favorites.🔥
This is an amazing young band that I expect we will hear, and see, a lot more from in the future. The fact that they are so young, in their teens, and the disruption of their lives, due to the invasion of Ukraine, are undoubtably big reasons they do not have more content, and more followers. The band was formed around the drummer Kate. It originally had six members, but the number of members has fluctuated. Kate is the only original member of the band still with the group. Maya, the original keyboardist had to leave the group in late 2023, because her family was returning to Ukraine. Their musical, and visual, style is varied. If you want happy and upbeat try Seem to Dance. Heartbreaking and thought provoking try Happiness. Girl Power try I'm Gonna Be. Acoustic try Hold. For Us ... For Me ... manages to switch between soulful and driving.
I saw The Sixsters, I subscribed 😀 You are so lucky to get to newly explore this incredible band. They are endlessly creative and they switch between genres easily, from in-your-face punk to beautiful ballads, and quirky ones like this one. They generally don't wear makeup like this, just one other, "I'm Gonna Be," where they're dressed like dolls. There are some great recommendations in the comments, and I hope you check them out some more! After two songs I was pulled down the rabbithole by their music and their compelling story as Ukrainian refugees now in Germany.
They filmed this at 1/2 speed, which gives it that jerky quality. Maria said the red wig was extremely scratchy, and couldn't wait until she could take it off. This is all in the behind the scenes video. It's a pretty dark song actually if you read the lyrics. The war has influenced a lot of their music.
Some great news! They've caught the attention of Dieter Dirks, who is best known for being a long-time producer for The Scorpions. The Sixsters are going to be big, maybe sooner than we thought! 😀
awesome!, thanks you for sharing, more giggle music try Seem to dance, more sixsters! as you listen to more you will understand how 6 became 5 as some earlier songs have 6 members, all bangers too, the guitar player had to take over lead vocals and she is amazing
I know! Right?! It's so random. If I try to refer to the awesome collection of the lead player, Anna's, mind-blowing lead covers, it deletes it usually. It is IG unicorn guitarist without the space between. She was trained on classical piano for ten years, and fell in love with guitar, inspired by, of all people, Taylor Swift. She is a true virtuoso, so you might like checking those out. 😀

The most interesting music out there in the current stale climate. Love the sixsters ❤️❤️❤️
An interesting watch.

There's a fun behind the scenes video of this that shows you some of their great personalities. I tried to paste a link, but it was deleted.
i don't see it in my "held for review" section...sometimes YT is weird about links, idk why
