Ikr m sure us trucks are stronger than Chinese have down but this comparison is apples to oranges also it literally pains me to say this but European trucks are way stronger than us there are many reasons but mainly less weight restrictions and higher emissions control means less is needed and it fits the emissions laws by making lower ho engines however our trucks are much more comfy as they are meant for long hauls and look easy better unfortunately that being said European trucks win in my opinion yet is preferred a us truck with their higher ho engine that'll anyone else's trucks just my opinion.
@@Smokeymcpot37 spot on. European roads have way steeper grades and payload is normally slightly higher than in us. So eu engines and trannys are just more powerful and high performance. Us trucks are just cooler looking and have way bigger bunks that at better for otr use.

@@Smokeymcpot37 I drove for 7 years across the east. And EVERY single truck of course they were all cab overs. We’re TERRIBLE. Unreliable out the ass. Un comfortable on rougher terrain as you’re practically sitting on the drivers wheel. That goes for “Man, Scania, Benz “was the nicest riding”, Volvo and Renault. Not all we’re terrible but all shared the same shit characteristics. Oh and I snapped a frame on the Man which was a brand new truck. Now I’ve also owned a trucking company in Canada for damn near 20 years now. Only ran KW, Peterbuilt or Mack. We were buying nothing but the Pete roller trucks until they ended that a few years back and ALL these trucks get absolutely BATTERED by the terrain they are and have been on a Logging Contract for 6 years and I have had no where near the issues with our trucks as the eastern trucks I used to take care of. Until you’ve spent plentiful time in both countries don’t dispute. You’re terrain is a laughing stock on many fronts compared to the West.

The difference isn’t quality of the vehicle it’s quality in life. all American vehicles can over haul shit to if need be we just are allowed to own more than one vehicle so our fleet stays strong. I would be amazed and realized our vehicles can handle so much more but glad we don’t have to.

EU trucks have way more Power than US Trucks and there is no Black smoke at all.

A modern or even an Old Diesel engine which is Tunded right doesn't smoke like that.
Roalling Coal, turned the Diesel pump up, nothing special, but totally useless and extra bad for the environment. :)

@@Chuassy You are right for now there ain't much of an alternative for the existing fleet. But better filter systems could be a start, in Central Europe Diesel particle filters are mandatory. But theres more that can be done. If you are interested there's a company called Remora who develop a clip on device that captures the CO2 from the exhaust gases reduces the emissions by 80%.

Black smoke means that the truck’s fuel injection is delivering more fuel than can be burned in the combustion chamber. Besides being bad for the environment and wasting money out the exhaust, the carbon in the soot gets in the engine oil and causes more wear on the engine. Gale Banks has a bunch of videos on the subject of visible exhaust smoke.

You can be spewing clear smoke from your exhaust yet inundating the atmosphere with chemicals that are harmful having said that my personal experience with 100% Chinese vehicles was that after about three or four years they look like they had been on the road for 40 or 50 years, I don’t know if they’re all like that or just the ones that I personally witnessed but there were quite a few and that is what I saw. I know Americans aren’t the best vehicle makers the Japanese and the Germans are and the Koreans are very good also but the Chinese are nowhere even near that list. I know a lot of peoples argument is that well? Everything’s made in China but when it’s made for a foreign company say Mercedes-Benz, the process engineers are Germans and the quality control engineers or Germans. They will control as much of the process as they can. They basically just want the cheap labor and rent and utilities that they get there but the thinking and planning and implementation is German.

That container if fully loaded can weigh 40k np, it clearly wasnt a full container with how fast the truck was going but even a jockey truck which has a limiter on its speed goes faster with a full container/trailer attached compared to tht chinese truck lol
@@TIannone It can be loaded with a lot of weight but it wasn't since you can check by looking at it's trailer's tyres. Besides the other one is going offroad so that driver is in quite disadvantage. Sadly the main issue with most comments here is that neither of them were racing and the driver working with the american semi just honked for the people who were filming and most likely asking for him to honk. A lot of kids are asking for that from semi trucks.

Any truck driver will tell you that the freight shaker is hauling an empty container, going through different transmission holes and running his Jake's up hill. The dump truck on the other hand is fully loaded. That is not a fair comparison.

That International is a pre-emission truck & has had its fuel mixture enrichened. It also has final drive ratios geared for highway use.
The typical dump truck doesn't go anywhere near as far on a daily basis and spends its time hauling loads over shorter distances, so it has lower gearing for doing that job easily, and not going fast.
I don't know the Mac dump trucks I usually see in the PNW go way faster than any semi, and on logging roads no less. I always think those guys are crazy.
I just find it funny that the truck labeled "EVERGREEN" is literally pouring out black smoke ☣️☠️

Those are two different vehicles carrying different loads the trailer may be empty while the tipper was fully loaded
It most likely is empty. The tires on the trailer are completely under the container. If loaded the rear axle tire would be set behind the container.
And designed for different purposes!
Even if the red truck is fully loaded to maximum weight capacity it would still easily climb the hill.

Cool video. You should know that diesel engines, if they're tuned CORRECTLY, do NOT put out black smoke. The black smoke is caused by overfueling - putting too much fuel in the combustion chamber that can't be burned properly at that moment.

I disagree. Actually, if you watch professional truck racing, you'll see those perfectly tuned engines churning out the black "soot," when they are at their highest power. Well tuned diesel big rigs do smoke when under a load. Now cars can be tuned a bit differently to where you don't see so much soot, except for a buildup of black deposits at the back of the car near the exhaust.
The American coal burner with its tiny box needs the pedal in the metal to run up the hill - while the heavy loaded tipper runs pretty efficent without the dark clouds... 😂

@JohannZ100 while the European truck has more power its way less efficient than the American truck my kenworth t680 versus any European truck on a 3000 mile trip is gonna use less fuel. And much more comfort. That truck on here is a 30 year old version. And yeah they roll coal but they last 4 million miles and that smoke is less net pollution than building a new truck every 5 years.
1 million miles on European truck its shot. My dad's 76 peterbuilt has 11 million miles on it. In the European truck you'd need to build 8 to 15 trucks. Or just have a little smoke in between tunes. They don't smoke tuned properly.

- Load weight.
Loader is off-road and container is on smooth surface. No comparison.

I'm assuming this is filmed in China. Their emissions regulations are very different from the US. I can tell by watching this tractor trailer in this video isn't using DEF fluid, among other things.

That Chinese truck is probably caring twice the weight. It looks to be caring a load of rock, probably 16-20 tons. The other, short container maybe half that. Not much of a comparison.

That popping sound you hear is what they call the jake brake. This is a feature on American vehicles that you can use the compression of the engine to help slow the vehicle down. When the driver does says she'll hear that popping noise of the compression at the Pistons that are not firing they are just compressing to slow the vehicle. This tool helps to save on brake wear and overheating when on steep inclines. So not only do you have power you have a extra measure of safety. That you're sure to appreciate when you're going down that mountain side

You know the body of those internationals weigh more that the Chinese truck alone and how do you know that container is empty? They both use the same Detroit diesel motor concept built off either a Cummins or Isuzu platform so there's no difference in motor. Just manufacturer. Y'all don't know what your talking about
