How can you tell?
@user-bn3uf6sb1h diction and articulation of course. One feels warm and loving, patient and kind. The other feels cold and informative. Alan watts will never tell you anything that you, the you that is inside of you, doesn't already know. He is a reminder, not an informant.
As true as that may be we could make the argument that wisdom is still wisdom whether it come from Alan, a child, or a robot... The objective being not to follow a man but to follow a truth...
@andredavis5370 the issue is that the "wisdom" being spread around in this manner is factually false and serves no purpose other than to entertain the delusions of the conservative conspiracy theorists (talk about paradoxical). I heard a humdrum video talking about the ficticious fantasy land of Tartaria narrated by Artificial Alan Watts and everyone in the comments ate it up. Watts had one of those voices that could make you believe anything to be true. Luckily for us, he used that power to speak simply of what is.

What's with this strange fad of having AI subtitles overlayed on the video? They're not even accurate. Please stop, we have ears. Alan is very articulate, so I don't think many people are going to have a difficult time understanding him- I'm pretty sure these computer-generated subtitles are going to confuse people rather than help them.

When an event happens to you... how do you respond?? Do u yell & scream... are u mild mannered? Is the event causing u to respond the way u do?? Or are u choosing to respond in this manner?? Who is in control of your response... the event or u? Did s/he make u angry or did u choose to respond in anger?
The other is a different wave on the same ocean. And you can only extrapolate that. There is no way to know the nature of the other as an other. No wave can see the ocean. No leaf can see the tree, the Forrest, the planet, the solar system. Seperation is optional and arbitrary.

Well, come up with a solution... make a plan to deal with this worry... and put that plan into action... put some sincerity in your efforts... no need to think beyond this point. No need to worry beyond you taking action. No need to over-think it, otherwise you will worry about worrying. As they say, trust the universe. You do your part, let the universe do its part... this yin-yang relationship consists of you making your destiny while your destiny happens to you.

Ego, like ideals or sex is a reward based system coded in the DNA and installed by language and culture to promote consistency within the individual and therefore the species. Ego isn't necessarily a strain. It is a tool. It is a strain to carry a hammer and it may be counterproductive to carry it all day. Unless you are a carpenter. This helped me so much. I'm so tired and strong at the same time. I'm aware of what I never wanted but played along because I was told to. I'm deeply angry and taking time to see why and what's beneath it. Deep inside I want to be left alone and want to be around people that are like me. I didn't like when anyone told me I was causing the things in my life. I said what about what others are doing to me. I felt to take that much accountability let others off the hook for their lives. But I'm now ready to plunge deeper. I'm still not letting anyone off the hook and taking on their crap but I'm willing to go under. I love you all

I've listened to much of Alan's contemplating for years, indeed he is entertaining and an orator of the first class. I've travelled to the far east many times taking in all the culture and ancient wisdom I could. Married an asian wife. I came to the ultimate conclusion after many years that Alan Watts is over impressed with having fun and what he finds exotic and entertaining, much more than the eternal truth which Jesus Christ offered all who trusted him. Jesus was not as Alan said a ordinary man experiencing cosmic consciousness, no, Jesus Christ was the real deal son of God telling it as it is. If you want eternal happiness in heaven the only way is via Jesus Christ repent your sins and get born again in the spirit of God read The New Testament and you will receive wisdom that Jesus is the son of God sent to save all who place faith in death on the cross and comming back to life on the third day. Have that faith and you will be happy and rewarded with an eternity of Joy ❤

It is very challenging trying to convey a lot of Alan's talks because they are so simplified, and that's what makes them very enjoyable.
Find a way, or an opening when it's something you two can talk about it in a way that you expand on it together and see what she understands, and see what you understand when you have the discussion. Hopefully that could be of some help.

Maybe in some far out spiritual sense that is so. But in every physical detail ????? I think not.
In the practical/physical world yes you may lack what you want but in the spiritual world the only real thing is that feeling of lack. By being aware of these feelings we can start to see where our physical world manifests itself based off these emotions. Sure when you zoom out the details seem far unattached and insignificant, but when you zoom in you begin to see everything is attached in someway and the separation is an illusion that Alan watts seems to try to dissolve in these talks
