Always loved how Carl Anderson perform this song. He starts out freaking out about what he just did. Then as he's singing "I don't know how to love him" he shows that even though he didn't see Jesus as the son of god, he still cared for him. And finally when he relizes that he's been part of God's plan he just about loses it and end with his death. This, the 2012 version, and the 2018 concert are my all time favorite take of this song.
I heard an radio interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber, where he said that like most movies back then and some even today, multiple scenes would be shot out of continuity order on the same day. To Webber's recollection, Carl Anderson and the crew shot both sequences for "Heaven On Their Minds" and "Judas's Death", within hours of each other from morning until later afternoon. Amazing.
@@ethanj8131 Wish I could. It was about 10 years ago and I believe based off of the local/regional station. Not NPR I don't think either. If you Google ALW's name and radio interviews I'm sure tons of them will come up.
His performance was so true played as a Judas and probably more than that. Heartfelled from Judas point of view.
It's very common practice because it's easier and cheaper not to have to set up the cameras each time. When constructed sets are involved, they'll use them for all the scenes on that set at once. This can lead to continuity errors, like when an actor is wearing one thing, then something else in the next scene, and back to the original clothes in a third scene shot in the same as the first.
This scene always does me in, Carl portrayed this so well you can feel the pain he’s in and how he felt used and betrayed. It makes you see Judas in a different light
Why does this Father of Jesus have no pitty on Judas suffering. He is alone in his desparation and does not know where to put his attention tol... God is bizzar.
Awesome performance! Unfortunately when he hangs himself, you can see that the rope is hanging from his back (not around his neck) as his body twists and turns. Maybe I’m nitpicking here, but I wish they fixed that in editing.
@@pompom6675 I’m not complaining about it. It was very well done. I’m just saying that the ‘character’ Judas, dies. And the fact that that Carl Anderson appears in at the end out of costume after that doesn’t change that.
The only problem a hear in this song is the mention of Muhammed a false prophet who came 500 years after Jesus Chris it has no business in this film and this song that along ruin the good performance of Carl Anderson
Okay, but yeah, the soldies are walking around with automatic guns and modern clothes, so I guess there are some aspects to modernise it to a bigger or more modern group of viewers
You're thinking about Superstar, not Judas' death. That song literally has the line, "If you'd come today you could have reached the whole nation. Israel in 4 B.C., had no mass communication." Also, the film starts with the cast getting off a bus and ends with them getting back on (except for Ted Neely).
It's obviously set in 1973. The bus, the merchandise in the temple, the fighter jets, tanks and guns show that. And in the song 'Superstar' Judas is talking to Jesus long after the events of the canonical gospels. 'If you'd come today, you could have reached the whole nation'.
Anderson should have won an Academy Award....at least be nominated.
Such a great actor..
Actor....singer....amazing man with an incredible voice.
I didn't find it convincing.

I grew having negative thoughts towards Judas for betraying Jesus, but now I'm older I get it was all part of the master plan. Poor old Judas.
No la dejo de ver
I'd save him if i could ..
Good looking too

For one, don't take this musical as canon.
The only bizarre things here is your typing and the fact you're taking a movie from 50 years ago as literal
@@meme_aids I do Not Like you.

Judas was always evil. He held the purse for widows and orphans but actually was stealing from it.
Well, Judas! So much for the money 💰 you were paid 😒.

Judas gets a bad rap
Judas and Jesus were two sides of the same coin.
There had to be a Judas…
I dont understand why it was in song
Because this is from a rock opera. Everything is done in song. It's a great movie and show.
It’s great in general Carl Anderson solos
Because- it's an opera.......
The entire film is in song
He should have been jesus. He's so talented. But he did get a big role
of course they make the black man out to the be the bad guy
Huhhhhhh
What do you mean huh u know the Bible
Se lo merecia por traicionar a un maestro
y entonces como se hubiere cumplido la redencion del mesias?? piense
