Caruso is good in spurts but gets banged up quite a bit and misses games here and there, can’t be relied on for 82. I’m fine with the trade this team needs an overhaul, good start.
This was a good take... giddeys only weakness is his confidence. He's proven he has the ability to be a 3pt shooter (see March stats), he's proven he can be a good defender (see playoffs against pelicans), he's proven he can be a court leader (see when sga and jdub were injured). He was 2nd best rebounder, 2nd best assists and still throwing up good points while playing out of position and reduced minutes. And he personally saved a number of season games with clutch plays, okc would not of been no.1 in their conference without him. I don't think we've actually seen him play the way he should be playing.
Giddey will play good ball for the Bulls for a long, long time. He is unselfish and once he gets used to being the primary ball-handler again you will see a different player. Giddey ran the point for about 3 weeks late in the season, pre-playoffs while SGA had a sore calf. Giddey's numbers spiked for those 3 weeks in that primary ball-handling role - he can run a team if he gets the chance.
OKC fan here. I think Giddey is a good player and at 21 will become a much better player. He did struggle with confidence down the stretch, but his biggest problem on OKC was redundancy with SGA. At 30, Caruso is at his peak as a player now and Giddey, at 21, still has a ton of upside. I really liked Giddey and I think he will become a really good player in Chicago. I am sad to lose him at OKC, but OKC has a bunch of guys they will need to pay in the future, and Giddey’s redundancy made him odd guy out. They will give Caruso a three year deal at OKC and that will be the end of his time there as Presti keeps using and trading back draft picks to keep the roster affordable. Giddey will be playing in the NBA at a high level for 15 more years.

The only reason okc lost confidence in Josh is they have a better older guy to play his position. Josh is still very good with a huge upside.
