Awesome.....awesome.....awesome......nothing any better than Jet Cars at night.....saw the Green Monster running a General Electric J-79 out of a F-104 at Suffolk Dragway, Virginia, like when I was 8.........it was awesome and it's one night I will always remember.
All correct. But its about using a jet engine. The potential for ridiculous speed is there but its a whole different animal. More about the oddity of it my friend
Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars are definitely Way Quicker than a Jet Dragster or Funny Car. The Nitromethane Burners WAY More maintenance than a Jet, Jet Cars just basically repack the chutes and Add Fuel, Thats It, A Top Fuel Engine gets Totally Torn Down and Rebuilt every single pass, the Clutch Also gets Completely Rebuilt each pass.. A Jet Car can probably do 20 Passes before any type of Maintenance gets done. I've always Loved the Jet Cars as a little kid, to now.
No trouble whatsoever to maintain a Jet Turbine, most of these guys using GE J-85,s or you'll see some Pratt J-60,s and some of the Jet Semis have the Awesome J-79, that's a Beast.

Jet cars are cool, but they don't seem to be that much quicker than top fuel dragsters. It also looks like a lot of trouble to maintain a jet engine.
