What truly makes this advanced is the independence he demonstrates with the over riding quarter note hi hat foot pulse. Not just the co ordination but actually moreso his wonderful dynamic control. Every voice is sounded with respect and equal attention. Very musical, not easy at all

Tommy is a careful teacher. He explains this seven as a quote on quote advanced one. I had spent my young years on the drums obessed with odd meters and found that the most difficult drum patterns didn't follow a back beat principal but had displaced markings further obscuring the true measure of that particular meter. Still though no matter, he here qualifies his use of the term advanced and justifies his understanding of the term. I'm not saying any of this is easy, I'm just expressing my liking of how Tommy explains himself and justifies his descriptions. He is a serious teacher of this art
