Fishing my dream rod - The *ULTIMAte* rod? SHIMANO POISON ULTIMA!!!

- Today I took the Ultima on a test run against some mean river Smallies in a very woody stretch of the river. Wasn't able to hook into a monster smallmouth but fighting against a heavy wooded environment and aggressive smallmouths, the Ultima handled it all with ease. Extremely light weight, beautiful design and the power it has, it's truly an amazing rod and hey, I got one on pre-order!
Big thanks again to my buddy Kong for letting me use his Ultima!

I love my Poison Adrena so I can't imagine how insane the Ultima feels.
I love the Poison Adrena. May have to upgrade to the Ultima.
Fun times man! Sucks that I forgot to turn on the camera when you were on your knees when we were nailing them under that tree. Would've been an epic video. Time to make a compilation video of all the best catches using the Ultima and doing a final review of it.
Definite shout out to Kong for letting you test and enjoy the Ultima! Sure wish it came with a longer warranty. Glad to see your boat out again. I have multiple poison Adrena’s and I was looking at the glorious! Is there a nice difference between the Adrena and glorious? Glad you two had fun and hopefully your wife and you enjoyed your dinner!
Between the Adrena and Glorious, there isn't that much of a difference though my Glorious is of the older gen. There is a newer 2021 and up version but I haven't used those yet. The price point for them aren't too far off as well, if anything, I'd save that extra $100 and throw it towards the Ultima but the Ultima doesn't have too much models out yet.

@@davidrauschenbach6871 Yes those are hard to come by. I was lucky enough to find one for pre-order. You'll have to constantly check the sites and hope they restock or open up orders.
Great indepth review. Was gonna get it till i heard the warranty. Ill stick with my steez and NRX. Thanks for the heads up.
For sure! Warranty is definitely a big let down. I just have to travel safely with the rod lol

Ultima was the 7' MH Fast action rod :) my buddy will chime in on his NRX.
It’s a NRX+ 853C JWR. 7’1” EX-Fast Med-Heavy 3/16 - 5/8pz 12-16lb
