It’s definitely different than their past songs but it still has that spiraling breakdown that ptv is known for. Also their drummer was in this song and album. He went to rehab which is why the song took over 6 years to come out. But this is the whole band
Thanks for clarifying! I honestly felt it was light compared to their usual stuff so I assumed maybe he was just gone gone but I'm hoping for some more variety when I hear the rest. Didn't know he'd gone to rehab, tho... good move. I hope he's in a better space now.
I don’t think Mike was on this album/song, nor is he in the band anymore. Paul Meany was credited with the drumwork for the song and you can see him playing in their behind the scenes video of the making of the song. They also have an entirely different touring drummer.
I had a feeling after I left the comment lol I went back to check and Mike Fuentes is out of the picture for real. I knew something was off!

I've listened to some Hail the Sun, but I only discovered them last year (mega late to the party). Actually Black Serotonin has been on rotation heavy this week 🥹... It's a fave. I did not know however that Donovan also fronted Sianvar, so there's something to look forward to!

This sound to me like a mix of blink182 and thirty seconds to mars/papa roach. I really don't know who the guys are first time hearing them.
I would definitely recommend "Bulls In the Bronx" as a fave of what they used to sound like... or "Besitos" from way back. I honestly did not expect this lol
