In all seriousness though, your videos are the only AOE4 content I watch ( apart from S tier tournaments) - I don’t enjoy playing myself and neither like watching the pros sitting silently clicking 200x/minute while hovering frantically over the map or in depth strategy videos of other content creators. Your videos combine entertainment with strategic observations and are always a pleasure to watch !

Drongo I kindly ask you to comment on what Beasty said several days ago, that Ottomans are by far the worst civ in imperial, that Great Bombard and Janissary are so weak, that it makes it so hard to compete with other civs. Other famous players said this many times before. Please make a video about this?

Wrong strats. He should go to barbican then to baracks and stable first. Train spear and keep harras with horsemen. Or train spears and built archery range. Train archers with spears as meatshield. Build rhe surroundings with palisade walls plus towers with hand cannon slits.. A few archers and spears then horsemen will do then go to the clocktower landmark. Build the nest of bees then go to Song dynasty. Once rhe resources are secured. Keep train Archers, spearmen adequate enough to protect from cavalries plus nest of bees to kill archers. Train palace guaed to harras the enemy bases and raid the enemy. Build the barracks closer to the enemy if can supervised the blacksmith, and other military buildings. Clocktowers siege if too far then siege workshop , barracks and archery range build closer to the enemy bases, plus towers and keeps.

Drongo, unfortunately the satellite video is fake for sure. Can't definitely say the second one is though. The satellite one is filmed from the ground and not a satellite. Watch the sat one again and imagine it as though its from underneath this time. Also take note of the direction the tail fin is pointing. Then try and convince your brain the plane is being filmed from above and it will be difficult.
I would also like to mention that I would love for this all to be true, and I too get excited and immediately jump to the conclusion that it must be true, but every now and then I am reminded to use my due diligence and ask questions from the other sides point of view. It sucks that this still doesn't confirm something I would love to see, but who knows what we might learn tomorrow.

Pretty sure that Lucifron was just limit testing or fooling around here.
He knows that French go knights 99 times out of a 100, he knows that knights usually have enough ranged armor to reduce Zhugenu dmg to 1x3, he knows that normal archers are bad enough against knights without the lower movement speed and range of Zhugenu and he knows that Song Dynasty + 2nd TC is setting up for an exceptionally weak early game against such a powerful early game civ. Not to mention he started throwing villagers at the enemy at one point. This match clearly meant a lot more to his opponent than him.
That being said, I'm curious as to what he'd do in a serious French vs Chinese.
He needed to get to Castle before the French player so the Nests of Bees could counter everything.
Horsemen against knights has to be one of the biggest mistakes I see in low ranks. Don’t listen to drongo. Unless you’re a Delhi main making ghazi raiders against knights, don’t make horsemen and expect it to do anything vs the knights
It's meant to be vs the archers
horsemen are neutral to knights because they can disengage when needed and outpace. Maa are neutral to archers and crossbow are neutral to spear. Every generic unit has 2 units it counters, a neutral and 2 units it loses to.
you're not supposed to go mass horseman, I'm pretty sure drongo is saying to not make zhuge nu and make horsemen+spearmen. French likes to go knight+archers. this french composition is countered by the horsemen+spearmen matchup. If they ever engage head on, the spearmen mixed in the horsemen will take out the french knights on the frontline, your own spearmen is protected from the archers because half of the archers will be hitting the horsemen. After you cleanup their frontline, your horsemen can clean up the archer backline with superior movement speed.
@@lukejohnson7201 exactly. The feudal counter to knight archer is horsemen spear and the castle counter to knight archer is knight horsemen.

What a mach. Im not nearly as good as this guys, not even close, so I know I souldnt say it. I think what killed yellow is not going directly to castle, that second tc was important, but one nest of bees could have changed the ties of battle.

going directly to castle is an inorganic strategy that leaves you very vulnerable to being overwhelmed by any opposing military units. It can be done in some circumstances, ie your opponent is going heavy turtle or is fast castling himself but most of the time it's not a great idea but respect for giving your feedback regardless.

Hey Drongo, I love the casts, been watching for a long time now. Could I recommend you try to reduce the amount of predicting and criticizing you do in your commentary, and focus instead on primarily on describing the action and explains player choices. I hope that makes sense. Of course some critical analysis is fine, but I find the constant speculation especially to be less enjoyable than just focusing on what IS happening.
Love the content regardless and thanks for your hard work to entertain all us AOE4 junkies
