    I was looking for some information about jasminum polyanthum, i planted one in my garden 4 years ago (south west of France) and this year i have currently a second flowering, i love it, it's not just few flowers it's really a second flowering, even more than the first one. Weather was very wet this springtime and not very warm. Have you heard about another flowering on this jasminum ? Can't find any information about it...

    Interesting and a very informative video, especially about nipping the tips. I have treated myself with two pots of the jasmine plants similar to the one you have indoors; it has several buds that are just waiting to bloom (can’t wait!).

      No, this is just where I make the videos! It should stay out until just before any hard frosts, I usually leave it until around November in the UK, if you’re in a colder climate you will have to judge it for yourself. It needs the cold to set the flower buds but you don’t want it to get frost damaged. When you bring it in keep it in a cool room if possible, an unheated conservatory would be good.

    Great informations!
    Can I ask you about the jasmine tree that some people manage to keep in their garden here in the uk , how can they reach that stage ?

      Most Jasmine are suited for the garden, you can buy them from most garden centres, I just like to bring mine inside to enjoy the flowers and the scent over the winter but I also have Jasmine growing in my garden.

      Glad I could help! Enjoy the flowers while they last and I would put it outside after so it can grow on in the sunshine. Thanks for watching. Andy

    Here in Paris november was cool but december was cold like minus 4 at night so i left it out until last week, now flower button start forming inside, i think in 1 or 2 month it will be blooming i hope. I have between 15 and 18 degrees inside in front of window but the light is poor since its mostly cloudy

    Hi enjoy your informative videos..
    Can you water propagate the Jasmine plant 🪴 ?

      Thank you Gloriana, yes I think you probably can but I have never tried, I would say give it a go and see, you will need to have at least one node submurged and change the water once per week to keep it fresh. No harm is experimenting with these things, let me know hw you get on.

      Too close to the time when the flower buds are setting so better not to risk cutting off any stems that might reduce the flowers. Cutting back is better done in the main summer months to produce more bushy growth.

    Hi Andy i have had mine outside but braught it in the house 3 weaks ago and pruned it then it started wilting so i have now put it back outside but it made no difference how hard back can i cut it please help i would hate to loose it

      It probably got too dry due to the sudden change, they need to adjust slowly ideally, a cool room is best to let them adjust to the new environment. Plenty of water and should be fine but may take a few weeks to recover. Wost case it will re-shoot from the base next year.

    How much light does it need indoors?

    • @HouseplantHacks
      @HouseplantHacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Plenty of bright light, it will prefer to be near a sunny window without getting the harsh direct hot sun on it.

    oooooooh! when do you stop pinching out the growing tips? i wouldn’t want to accidentally pull off any potential flowerbuds! eek 🦔🤍

    • @HouseplantHacks
      @HouseplantHacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I would stop by now, as soon as the temps drop your plant should start setting flower-buds so at the end of the growing season you should stop. 👍
