  • Half Lap of Australia: Episode 3 - Exploring & Camping in Outback Central Australia🌟🚐
Welcome to the third episode of our Half Lap of Australia series! Join us, Megan, Stuey, and our girls Evelyn and Thea, as we continue our epic family road trip through the heart of the Northern Territory. Plus, Stuey's parents are along for most of the journey!
    Day 8:
We picked up right where we left off, leaving the Uluṟu sunrise viewing area and heading to Discovery Resorts Kings Canyon. Here, we enjoyed the comfort of one of their glamping tents-a cozy retreat, especially since Evie had caught a bit of a cold and the weather turned chilly with a rare sprinkle of rain.
    Day 9:
Our day began with a small hike in Watarrka National Park. Although we couldn’t do the famous Rim Walk due to time constraints, it’s definitely on our bucket list for a future visit. Instead, we embarked on the Kings Creek Walk and were absolutely blown away. While the Rim Walk offers breathtaking views from above, the Creek Walk allows you to gaze up at the canyon from within-an underrated gem!
Next, we braved the notorious Mereenie Loop, known for its brutal corrugation and nicknamed the 'Caravan Killer.' Fortunately, without a caravan in tow, we found the road bumpy but manageable, with stunning roadside views. Our journey led us to Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park, where we checked out the magnificent Ormiston Gorge before arriving in Alice Springs late in the afternoon.
    Day 10:
Before leaving Alice Springs, we visited ANZAC Hill for a panoramic view of the city. We then headed north, driving up the middle of the Northern Territory. Along the way, we stopped at Red Centre Farm for the famous Mango Swirl ice cream, dodged bush fires along the Stuart Highway, and had a spooky stop at Wycliffe Wells (Australia's UFO Capital in the NT!)
Timing our journey perfectly, we explored the Karlu Karlu/Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve as the sun was setting. The Northern Territory sunset was nothing short of spectacular-the best we’ve ever seen!
    Next Episode:
Stay tuned as we arrive in the Top End, one of our favourite regions in Australia. Time slows down as we enjoy outback pubs, hot springs, and waterfalls. You won’t want to miss it!
