50% of my time back then was spent exploring or creating detours around high level mobs. I remember I snuck my way to Un’goro just to see the dinosaurs at like level 30
when i first started playing wow i made a belf, went to undercity simply out of curiosity about what the orb does, got creeped out thinking to myself "this is a safe place??" then got completely lost for like 1 hr in undercity not knowing how to get out and after i finally got out i forgot about the orb so i decided ill swim back to eversong woods.... BUT WAIT it gets better as i somehow ended up in eastern plaguelands even tho i was "swimming north" the whole time hugging the tall cliffs.. so then afraid of all the mobs with a skull level in yet another creepy zone i logged out..... and the next day i remembered i have a heartstone! lol cant tell you how relieved i felt to be back in that forest
When I went too far up in Redridge to get slaughtered by a skull elemental in Burning Steppes was when I really got a motivation to level. I needed that revenge! Burning Steppes is still one of my favorite zones.
Loved just traveling around in the World of Warcraft. It was fun exploring all the new places. Taking flight paths and figuring out how to get to places we flew over was mostly what I did.
When I was a kid playing I used to wonder how I'd see other races in different starting zones and how they managed to do it. Seeing night elves and gnomes in Elwynn Forest or Undead in Eversong Woods...a mystery to me at the time
When I was a kid I used to run around all over Azeroth as a ghost just to explore the zones. I remember being an undead running to WPL and dying to just run around and see the high level zones. Good times
I took my human rogue all the way to teldrassil thinking i could get further in levels and experience by doing the starter zones. I was level 20. It was a very sucky run that ended with me hearthing back to westfall because i didnt know about half the quests in darkshore and only saw the level 10s~
I started playing when cata launched and I was about 10. I played a worgen and never set my hearthstone in case I ever wanted to get back to Gilneas. I ended up doing wailing caverns as my first ever dungeon with dungeon finder ofc, but I remember when I left the group I didn’t get teleported back to wherever I had been before for some reason. So here I am, in the middle of Kalimdor, the heart of the enemy, I try my hearthstone for the first time and to my horror it doesn’t work because I never set it after leaving the starting zone, and panic started to set in… My initial plan was to die and somehow cross the ocean to the eastern kingdoms as a ghost… But eventually I came up with a better plan and queued for stockades, and did the same thing I had done to leave WC without being teleported. I’ve never been so relieved to be back in stormwind lol
That’s how it feels for me, I started playing wow when blizzard released HC official. I saw some xaryu clips on YT shorts, but point is.. I don’t know anything, I don’t look up guides, I just play raw and watch clips of others and learn from that. Most addicting game I’ve played… and I’ve played mobile mobas for a long time.

The hours spent running on the water to bypass high level zones just to get to my next questing zone❤

Still swim around there in hardcore until i was told there is a logout skip recently
I remember swimming so far to get to a place and end up dying to fatigue 😭
I remember being a level 9 undead mage, and exploring Western Plague lands for the first time 😣
The swim is still staple in hardcore for any night elves wanting to go Elwynn, unless you use unstuck skip!
I remember i wanted to get to stormwind on my new nightelf, so I died and ran my spirit to stormwind spirit healer to try and respawn lol
Everyone was on thottbot waiting for it to load on our 56K modems
You should be using the teleporter in gnomer as horde, then just run tokarth, you shouldn't aggro any guards at lvl 40
Lmao that mouse always cracks me up
BAK DEN
Felt like dying irl? Yea I'm not so sure about that buddy
