Ah Windblade. She's a bit like Drift. They have a Japanese theme, debuted in comics, and branched out into other media.

I hope the Cyberverse incarnation of Windblade is closest in personality to her IDW incarnation; there's a lot of places you can take a character who is compassionate and driven to do the right thing whilst simultaneously being ambitious and willing to flirt with ruthlessness and moral ambiguity.
Actually her personality is very different there's a little bit of her IDW incarnation's personality in there but overall she has a different personality however when it comes to deceptions her anger isn't as big as the prime wars trilogy windblade it's more similar to the TF prime optimus Prime's anger and I'm pretty sure she's gonna flirt mostly with bumblebee since they did hug three times

You know what I could really use a basics on? Transformers time. I understand that a solar cycle is a day, but is that a standard cybertronian day? Earth day? How many minutes are in a decacycle? Is a click a measurement like seconds or a measurement of distance? Your assistance in these quandaries is much appreciated

As far as I recall, there is a standard unit of time called a Breem, that's about 8 to 8 and a half minutes long in Earth time.

I have those Windblade comics as one single comic book called *Dawn of the Autobots* and I have to say, Sarah Stone became my favorite artist when I read it. The art style reminded me a little of TFP with how their faces were drawn.

I really adore that Windblade over the years since her debut. It was interesting that Silver from the Angry Birds series was used to take her form due to both having aerial based abilities
Windblade's design is my favorite out of every Transformers we have ever seen, my second favorite design being Arachnid from Transformers Prime
I remember the first time I saw Windblade in the Combiner Wars . She really stood out to me due to her character and jet design. I think I really started to like her in Cyberverse as she’s Bumblebee’s close friend. If I were to rate my favorite female Transformers then it’d go like this.

I love Windblade's kindness and integrity in IDW, and how nothing, not even Starscream managed to corrupt her completely in the end! Though the "good team-player though bit of a showoff" in RiD2015 was the first version of her I saw and loved it too.

The War- why are they fighting in the first place

Comic Windblade is so much more interesting than the animated Windblades we're been getting.

Briandon Stark I have, she had very little personality. practically every other character stood out more than her. I did like her in the first arc of Windblade(the comic series)

IDW ruined Arcee so Windblade didn't need to be as good as she ended up being to push her aside. I hope the next incarnation gives us a better Arcee and she and Windblade can team up as an awesome team. Maybe even make them siblings our something.
An Arcee with both mixes of the G1 and Prime aspects is one I wanna see.

Love her story from the IDW incarnation. The 2015 RID show was not one I am crazy for. Great video mate. She is one of the best moments in the communities history.
I love her in IDW too, in both her comics and in TAAO, she's absolutely my favourite Transformers character.
I dunno. I liked her a first but...
now she just kinda seems like she's the new "pure-hearted" character who can do no wrong.
She's not that at all. She makes a ton of mistakes and is a real flawed character, but she just tries her best, y'know?
Samuel Doll in what ways is she flawed? she always does the right thing even when OPTIMUS HIMSELF won't.
She always tries to, but again, she makes mistakes along the way. She's not perfect.
Even with a few Kinks, Windblade is still one of my Favorites, even though the first time I've actually heard of her was through RID.
But, if there's one thing I like the most: the version in the Japanese Transformers Legends Manga, she just looks so Kawaii.

I used to be a little put off by the direct Geisha inspired design but I warmed up to it and her character, though I still prefer IDW's design cause they draw more expressive faces
Windblade is my favorite female Autobot. I'm going use her city-speaker ability in my own stop motion episodes, but she gonna use it for boosting Metroplex's powers.

Windblade is pretty neat. Her appearance in combiner wars was the first time I got to see the character and I didn't like her take no prisoners and screw them all attitude. But over time I grew to like her machinima take and I've been reading her back story in the comics. She can't replace arcee for me. But she does add a new strong female character that is definitely needed in day and age
Crazee Jaycee I can appreciate the role she fills of a new strong female character, but why her? she's just so boring. why not Nautica or velocity or even stardrive. all characters with either more personality or more interesting stories.
Matt N maybe the reason they've pushed hard on windblade is because she is fan created. Give the fans more than a throw away character and make her somewhat important to a few stories to justify faith in the franchise? I dunno just spitballing really
Crazee Jaycee a realistic theory, but if so they are pushing too hard. if the character could support the spotlight I would most likely be okay with this though. I just don't think windblade can. she lacks personality in my mind. she feels like she fits in better with gobots. gobots were all the same, each was heroic with little weakness. transformers each had a unique personality and weakness. windblade fits into the prior category in my opinion. that's just how I see it.
Matt N your not wrong but windblade does have a pretty obvious weakness if you look at her over time. She's inexperienced. And not in that naive stupid wheelie way more like rodimus after gaining the matrix. And like rodimus she's growing. Pushing too hard is putting it gently. She's in on every toy line and series since her creation. So you and I are agreeing... this has to be completely unheard of in TH-cam history let alone the cybertronian fan base lol

I'm not sure Drift was a G1 character. I think he was more like Windblade. Added after the fact.

If you think about it, IDW's continuity was Gen1, so that would make Drift the first newest character in many years.

I’m sick of the typical Bumblebee/Hot Shot hero stories so having Wind Blade as a new/different hero archetype is refreshing in a storytelling element

It's the same story, but with a new skin, which is often terrible as those who demand it have a terrible character themselves.
@@huntergman8338 Sorry, but I do not agree with that conclusion. I said Windblade being the same archetype, and therefore have similar stories to Bumblebee, does not mean that representation in general is somehow pointless.
Representation is important because it is just one of the ways viewers can engage with the story through relatable characters, whether from the depiction of looks or personality. The depiction of Optimus Prime as the father figure in the original cartoon in both form and personality is one of the ways why people get attached to him. I feel like this is something that people who are against so-called representation either forget or ignore. Whether story-wise they're good characters or not is a different debate entirely.
@@langletprolet8378 Here is the thing. When representation is argued for, it's the idea that someone needs to put in more of a certain skin tone or some trait that is ultimately unimportant and it often comes with the implication that the trait has to have some importance to the story.
For example, the calls for more female protagonists often leads to cases where the a male character gets replaced with a woman. Ghost busters and the comic book industry are good examples of that.
One thing to remember is that, despite what many like to think, there is an objective truth to things. For example, a hero always has the same set of values, like prudence. To get a more clearer idea of what I mean, a channel that I like called "the fourth age" discusses such things. Most of these newer characters often don't hold these values, which makes them terrible outside of villains if they were intentional.
I honestly haven't heard any other idea of representation other then of skin or some other trait that ether doesn't matter or would be counter to the idea of their role.
I'm tired of them all, let the other Autobots get some shine like Sideswipe, Bluestreak, Tracks, Mirage, etc.

I love her. Those are amazing facts about her. I didn't know that she was a new transformer, I've never really watched transformers except the cartoons so I only saw her in those two series. I hope she will have more appearances in future movies and shows.

Windblade is a character that turned into an instant favorite of mine ever since her debut, I just hope that the next series that she shows up to get more of her comics personality!
Windblade, a character created by democracy. And thanks to fact that the poll was held in 2014, she wasn’t offlined by a cosmically-powered Starscream.
The first time I saw Windblade was in RiD. First she rubbed me the wrong way, I was kinda on Strongarm’s side. Eventually she grew on me (and her Cyberverse iteration), and is now one of my favourite female autobots.

I'm not the biggest fan of Windblade, I was interested in her at first, but much of my interest in her was killed when IDW threw Chromia, a much more iconic female autobot, under the bus to make her look better by comparison, and simultaneously worse since she was willing to coverup a bomb attack just to conceal Chromia's involvement in said attack. Plus, Hasbro seems determined to cram her into everything these days without taking the time to properly flesh out a consistent character for her, as a result she often comes across as "Arcee but with wings" in most of her appearances outside of the comics, both the psycho crazy variant and the more benign, protective variant (not a fan of psycho Arcee either). If they have to keep using her, I think she'd work better as a primarily Cybertron based autobot rather than an earth based operative, kinda like Shockwave back in G1, and play up her city speaker status over her combat abilities since her ability to commune with titans was the most interesting & unique aspect about her to begin with, in contrast to characters like Chromia and Arcee who are much better established warriors than her. Maybe Metroplex could be the LAST Autobot stronghold left on Cybertron and Optimus Prime leaves her and Ultra Magnus, as Cityspeaker & Base Commander respectively, in charge to oversee the ongoing struggle against the cons back on the home front while he leaves for Earth with his team to find new resources. Granted, one COULD argue that Cityspeakers in general are ultimately unnecessary since the bots and cons were able to control their "titan" teammates long before the concept of cityspeakers even existed, so theres that to consider as well.

When the character makes a live action, deep view, at some point, I think Kelly Hu should voice her. Have the character in Japan explaining her design work. In fact, she should be the main lead character. Sure you can have Optimus and Bumblebee but only has a cameo, and they are unable to make it because they’re busy. My idea for the next movie involves a little bit of the Combiner Wars. Where she teams up with the protectobots that form Defensor. They go up against the Decepticon combiners that form Bruticus. I have an ending where Swindle, miraculously survives and sells his fallen comrades parts to an arms dealer. Similar to an episode in the G1 series. Except this arms dealer is actually Destro, from COBRA.

It's weird how Windblade used to be everywhere for several years after her debut, including getting either a new figure or a redeco or retool every year, showing up in multiple cartoons, but when it comes to War for Cybertron, it's almost like she's been completely and totally disregarded in the show and the toylines. I don't want to be the "We were robbed!" guy because we haven't gotten a WFC-style Windblade (yet,) but I can't help but feel like the first fan-built character is getting shut out nowadays. It feels... disrespectful.
Here's hoping Legacy comes with a new figure at some point. Considering it's supposed to be a sort of celebration of the whole franchise with characters from various pieces of media, it simply wouldn't make sense to exclude the character specifically made to commemorate the series's 30'th anniversary

Interesting video as always. I've never been a huge fan of the character though I don't hate her. I don't like the trend in modern Transformers like Windblade and Movie Hound where they're basically Transformers in cosplay.
I also feel the City Speaker aspect should have been used on the likes of Scamper and Fasttrack who actually came with citybot toys and get practically no media attention.

Wind Sweeper Hey at least its something different design-wise. Although the uniqueness stopped at the head, the body design is basically just copy paste of every other fembots with those curvy lines and feminine silhouette.
Sometimes I feel when it comes to Transformers just the design, with more bombastic and different it is, the more it warrant becoming a prominent character. Megatron is also basically a guy cosplayer wearing a bucket helmet, but that is the exact thing that makes him standout. In comparison, Scamper and Cerebros is your typical blocky robot dude with not much element that separates him apart.

My first time seeing Windblade was 2 weeks ago while watching The Prime Wars Trilogy, and I find her to be one of the most original and likeable new characters to come about in the last decade or so.

Fun fact during my research on transformers recommended when one of my friends who's a girl told me to do windblade and in my research she is in a small little relationship with bumblebee and starscream also now my freind who's a girl her name is kaytlen she calls bumblebee and windblade beeblade and she calls starscream and windblade Windstream
