I theorize that Slipstream was Starscream's self-loathing. That's why she's always so defiant towards him and she refuses to use his form. She the part of him that realizes that for all his schemes, he still screws up so much.

According to the TF wiki, Slipstream was meant to represent Starscream’s femininity, but because Animated was a kid’s show, they didn’t outright state it. However, the joke went over a lot of adult fans’ heads and we’ve been pondering the “mystery” of what part of Starscream she represents ever since
Yeah it amazed me people seemed confused by it.
Here's a hot take: if Slipstream was merely Starscream's femininity, she wouldn't spend the whole show berating/betraying the original. I think she is Starscream's self-loathing, thus meaning her feminine nature is likely something Starscream hates about himself.

I think Slipstream being Starscream’s femininity came from someone who worked on the show, but that person could’ve not known the full story or could’ve just been guessing based off of what they heard around the office, because the self-loathing theory makes a lot of sense. Especially considering her snappy “Don’t ask!” And general rudeness to… everyone. Starscream is known for projecting his self-hatred onto everyone

Personally I think animated Slipstream is all his repressed parts... including, but not limited to, his self-loathing (turned creator-hate) and his femininity.

I think animated slipstream represents either:
Starscream’s bitchy side
His intelligence maybe
His leadership skills if he was a competent leader
His feminine side he’s trying to hide, “don’t ask”
Or maybe his self-loath, since she always tells him megatron’s better
I think of Animated Slipstream as an incarnation of Starscream's self-loathing. He might be a narcissist, but deep down he probably realizes he doesn't command the respect that Megatron does, and he knows that his other traits of being a lying, cowardly, narcissistic suck up do not earn him any street cred in the Decepticon army.
Hi folks, had to reupload this one due to a copyright claim from our friendly overlords at Hasbro. I can't be sure as to what it was that they took issue with (this wasn't The Algorithm - it was manually detected by an actual person but no timestamp was given), but conversation with other TF TH-camrs strongly suggests its Cyberverse - they seems to be very protective of it, probably because they're uploading it to their own TH-cam. So, this version has no Cyberverse footage and a link to where you can watch the episodes officially, and hopefully that'll appease them.

I've had to do the same with anything to do with Cyberverse. Any footage from that cartoon will get tagged, sometimes even including images. And it's always a manual claim. Like you said, they are really protective of the show.

Lots of good ideas for what part of Starscream the clone version of Slipstream represents, but I believe that she is supposed to represent his traitorous side. Without cowardice, self-importance or lying, she was able to take over as Decepticon air commander, something Starscream could never do.
I think the slipstream (starscream clone) represents he’s desire of manipulation over other bots

This kinda shows what I love about Transformers to this day, how awesome and/or interesting characters like her are fully utilized in new canon in some way or another eventually after being introduced rather than just leaving characters like her in the dust.

I really like that Parley episode. Every bot and con are getting along so well. Even Optimus Prime and Megatron admit that they miss having a talk at the table together. Every thing was fine until a crazy Samurai slash Slipstream who just about to tell the rest of them where and what Starscream is about to do...

I love Slipstream’s awesome personality and her Purple-Teal color scheme.

Slipstream's colors weren't based on Overlord. They were taken straight from Ramjet's G2 toy.
As I noted in a pinned comment before I had to reupload this video, yes, they're both purple and teal, but the pair's colour layouts don't actually match (Ramjet is really purple and BLACK, with teal accents) while all the other Animated Seekers colours very precisely do match their G1 counterpart. I've never understood the Overlord inspiration myself (he's got teal shins, that's about it!) but it comes straight from the mouth of Animated's character designer.
I want a Masterpiece Slipstream using the original version of the MP Starscream mold.
Conclusion: Animated Slipstream's cloned personality trait is either Starscream's Fashion Sense or his gay side.

Hmm, I always considered Slipstream to be based upon the colours of G2 Ramjet. You've got the purple, teal and black. The only addition is grey.

Slipstream is definitely be starscreams self loathing, because all of his plans always going to blow up in his face and sometimes beaten by auto bots, Megatron, a few humans like miko from prime, or a combination of all 3
the first time (i think) i saw slipstream was in war for cybertron, and honestly i was kinda disappointed you couldnt play as her and use her separate parts in fall of cybertron multiplayer, same with arcee, cause their models and vehicle modes were pretty damn good
The thing is in the Japanese dub had Slipstream refer to the other clones as the names they would be officially given

That Armada game Slipstream looks like a fusion of Sparkplug and Swindle to me, with the more stylized head and the similar transformation scheme being similar to Swindle without the G1 Jazz toy-accurate shoulder-wheels...
I don't know if anyone noticed, but I happened to spot a sky blue and purple Seeker in the crowd shot during Starscream's coronation in the Transformers: The Movie. Now, it could just be a Thundercracker animation error since he already became Scourge at this point, but that color scheme seems fit Slipstream well.

Looking at her personality and behavior, I always believe her personality from Starscream was "defiant, treacherous". She was quick to betray Starscream once he's down, and in other episode wanted to kill Starscream, just like Starscream's treachery against Megatron.
3:17 and to this day, she's not been seen since bludgeon took her CV counterpart offline. Though Rodimus Primal's daughter seems to have taken a liking to her.

Tbh it would have been nice to see slipstream in RiD, but I love the two minicons, and along with fixtit they’re my three favourite minicons. Without slipstream (the minicon), I’d be weird just jetstorm alone, plus their names match.
