You’re really good at this but just a quick word of advice. When shading try not to use Black as the color you want to use. It really cuts down the dimension and flattens the whole image, try using different colors like red, purple or blue and then use the multiply or shade setting for that layer. It really lets the image pop out instead. As for lighting, try not to use white, cause it’s just the same thing as Black, it cuts down on the image. Lighter versions of yellow or any color you desire really helps as well. But this is all up to you.
Forgotten Maiden I use black on a new layer and lower the opacity on to like 50 to 30 opacity and draw on the drawing and shade it. I use white to give highlights on hair.

I made a little story for this..im a bad writer so....beware After a famine wiped out most of the crops across Equestria and the apple farm. Most ponys died of starvation and some of the animals died because of the lack in growth of vegitation. Ponys were forced to commit canabilism..but if there was enough food around conflict struck out on how much was given toeach family which cotained enough grain to last a few months. But after that they were forced to eat the dead...a fate of which poor applejack was given. Her sister had not known about this and thought she died of starvation in the everfree forest looking for food for the apples.. gorged with what little they had left... applejacks remains were up for the taking.
I loved this miniseries so much. It sucks that the “Bye Bye Granny Smith” speedpaint disappeared, that was my favorite. Treasure and the others were invited to visit treasure friend's uncle,the man she met yesterday.the gang sat down as granny prepared drinks. cream noticed that Apple jack wasn't here.the gang didn't notice that Apple jack was gone,but cream did. "Um...mister d.? Where is ....applejack?........"
It was around 4, Granny Smith was making dinner, and Big Mac and Applebloom were done with their chores, however, Applebloom was curious to know where Applejack went, so she went to go ask Granny as she came into the kitchen smelling the aroma of what Grannny Smith was cooking AB: Um, Granny? Have you seen Applejack? GS: Why, no, I haven't youngin, probably went to go help one of her friends, why do you ask? AB: I was just wondering, cuz I was gonna ask her for some help, but I haven't seen her all afternoon. GS: Like I said, she could just be helpin her friends, now go play while I make dinner. Applebloom was confused, Applejack would've asked to leave her chores to go help her friends, but she was gone all afternoon. Was it a friendship problem? Was it something urgent? Whatever it was Applebloom knew that Applejack would've said something if she had to leave... Around 40 minutes later... GS:Kids! Get yer butts down here and come eat! Big Mac and Applebloom come running down to dinner, smelling the sweet smell of Grannys cooking, Granny was setting the table and Big Mac was helpin, Applebloom sat in her chair confused yet again to see that her sister wasnt there for dinner, usually shes home at around dinner time when shes either done with a chore or solving a friendship problem, but AJ still wasnt there AB: Granny? Have you seen AJ? GS: I'm still not sure where she is youngin, now stop yer worryin and eat some of this here food! I used the freshest ingredients for this here dinner, with somethin more um... special... Granny cut up bits of what was on the platter and handed it to Applebloom, then Big Mac, Big Mac already dug in, and Applebloom was curious as to what it was AB: Um? What is this granny? Is it a pumpkin or something? GS: Try it, im sure you'll like it Applebloom takes a bite of the orange food that was on her plate, she thought it was tasty but felt somethibg mushy along with the cooked carrots and other vegetables, she pulled it out of her mouth and realized that it looked like an intestine. Was it an animal from the barn? An animal from Fluttershy's cottage? Applebloom seemed rather strange as to what she just ate, and she noticed bits of blonde hair and orange bits of fur on her plate? No, could it be, it couldnt, but was it? Applebloom realizes that the main course on the giant platter in the middle of the table wasnt a giant pumpkin... It was Applejack... Applebloom screams in terror after turning the giant platter around with her little hooves, and Big Mac noticed his little sister on the plate, and decides to barf up the food that he at all over the floor.. while granny, looking so innocent, just looks into applejacks lifeless eyes, feeling proud as to what she had acheived... and she knew who was going to be next Btw i like the length of Grannys neck lol
Applebloom: Granny what were you thinking Granny: ... Applebloom: if you're gonna give us a big meal why don't you feed us Big Mac instead he IS bigger than AppleJack so I'm pretty sure he'll keep us full for a while Granny: oh yeah oops

Granny Smith: **puts her in the oven which is heating up and closes the door** Applebloom: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? **is crying** Tahdah and that's how this speedpaint and the one titled WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! with Applebloom in the oven are connected :D
Love your art, but I feel that it would be greatly improved if you didn't shade with black and white. Maybe try blues for a setting like this, and reds for warmer, outside pictures. Take it or leave it, but I would try it out to see if it works for you.

Big Mac and Applebloom come running down to dinner, smelling the sweet smell of Grannys cooking, Granny was setting the table and Big Mac was helpin, Applebloom sat in her chair confused yet again to see that her sister wasnt there for dinner, usually shes home at around dinner time when shes either done with a chore or solving a friendship problem, but AJ still wasnt there
AB: Granny? Have you seen AJ?
GS: I'm still not sure where she is youngin, now stop yer worryin and eat some of this here food! I used the freshest ingredients for this here dinner, with somethin more um... special...
Granny cut up bits of what was on the platter and handed it to Applebloom, then Big Mac, Big Mac already dug in, and Applebloom was curious as to what it was
AB: Um? What is this granny? Is it a pumpkin or something?
GS: Try it, im sure you'll like it
Applebloom takes a bite of the orange food that was on her plate, she thought it was tasty but felt somethibg mushy along with the cooked carrots and other vegetables, she pulled it out of her mouth and realized that it looked like an intestine. Was it an animal from the barn? An animal from Fluttershy's cottage? Applebloom seemed rather strange as to what she just ate, and she noticed bits of blonde hair and orange bits of fur on her plate? No, could it be, it couldnt, but was it? Applebloom realizes that the main course on the giant platter in the middle of the table wasnt a giant pumpkin...
It was Applejack...
Applebloom screams in terror after turning the giant platter around with her little hooves, and Big Mac noticed his little sister on the plate, and decides to barf up the food that he at all over the floor.. while granny, looking so innocent, just looks into applejacks lifeless eyes, feeling proud as to what she had acheived... and she knew who was going to be next

Love your art, but I feel that it would be greatly improved if you didn't shade with black and white. Maybe try blues for a setting like this, and reds for warmer, outside pictures. Take it or leave it, but I would try it out to see if it works for you.

As everypony sat at the table for breakfast, Applebloom couldn't help but feel suspicious. Granny Smith had such a smug smile on her wrinkled green face. She seemed happy. Maybe too happy. Then, something else caught her curious eye. "Granny, where's Applejack?" Her sister was supposed to be at the table by now. Did she leave early for a friendship quest again? "See here, youngun', there are some questions that I don't aim t'answer!" Granny had a bitter look in her eyes. Then, Big Mac scrunched his face into a look of pure disgust. "Eeenope!" He muttered. "Blast it, Macintosh, what put y'all in a bad mood today?" Granny fussed, angrily. Big Mac stared at his plate. Then, his gaze was turned towards Applebloom. "Ah think I know where Applejack." He whispered, voice quivering. The sunshine colored filly lifted the top to her plate only to realize what Granny Smith fetched for breakfast. It was Applejack!
