My husband was abused physically and had cancer as a child, when i met him he stuttered so bad he could barely state his name. Today he speaks clearly, is cancer free, and a great father to both our children. The victory belongs to Jesus!!

We played this while I was in labor and as I gave birth to my son. The Holy Spirit filled that hospital room with a thick presence. He was born into peace. Even the staff said it was the most peaceful birth they have ever been a part of. Thank you Jesus❤

Maryanne is unreal. Look at how everyone just stares in awe of her voice. That voice is anointed on another spiritual level, what a beautiful way to convey God’s power and love onto those that forget it’s there. I love this song so much. God bless Todd, I’m so happy he’s also on this album.
I wonder if it's not mainly that we are in awe of her vocal ability. I am curious to know what you think.
More recently, I've come to notice that strong performances can tend to take away from God's glory. As someone who has been strong on vocal lessons in recent years, I can tell you that she has awesome vocal technique. A lot of what vocal teachers teach to advanced singers, she has mastered. I would even dare to say that she has the type of consistency that is required from Broadway singers and the like.
But something that God has shown me more and more as he is leading me to worship is to deny myself (and the showcasing of my ability) in order to put the spotlight on him. That can require doing less modulations, belting less (loud and accurate singing) and being overall less crafty with my voice.
I am asking you this question because I've realized that a lot of people in worship music are singers more than worshipers. It's second nature when you have taken music classes for years or are passionate about it. But the Lord cares about the heart, not the voice?
That's why some of the most efficient worship can come from people who are barely singers, because they bring you to worshipping God alongside themselves, rather than showcasing the type of vocal ability that makes you want to shut up and listen.
It's one lesson that God has taught me recently: worship is more about serving than about leading (as is the gospel!), and it's all about God.

@@e.n.9004 I have thoguht a lot about this as well recently. I do think sometimes that all the riffs and runs are so beautiful to point where I am distracted and stop singing along all together. I do think with maryanne its very natural and thats just how she sings. I think she does it in the moment and it really feels like she's worshiping. I think its double sided overall...... singers shouldn't over do it but we also have to able to focus as well as listners.

@Eve Angélique thanks for the input. I am also French (and African) and have grown up mostly on American music. I live in North America so I haven't been too exposed to the French way of worshipping.
There definitely exists "calmer" worship music in the US, but because megachurches are a huge part of the landscape and they sign most of the Christian music artists, you don't hear too much about it.
There is also of course the fact that show business is huge here and church music can have a hard time separating from that. I do believe from what the Holy Spirit has led me to that the Lord favors calmer, less dramatic music, that feels natural because it represents him and his peace best

I listen to this song every day and I always cry!!! Just imagining how big the father’s love is for us!!! I did not have a present father growing up and so over the years I was looking for love in all the wrong places only to find myself more empty and lacking love for myself. Last summer I forgave my father and then was able to forgive myself. The only approval I need comes from my Heavenly Father and this realization has been a gamechanger for me ❤😭
I grew up without a Father. So many walk that same path of life, never knowing the TRUE guidance a Father can provide, the sense of protection, the unwavering love a Father is supposed to extend to his children.
It only got harder once I had children of my own, HOW do I be a Father, when I don’t even know what it means…so many abandon their children asking that same question to themselves.
God changed everything, God began showing me what it meant to love, to care, to nurture…but not just my children, but those around me “thy neighbor”.
I realized I knew no Father, just so I could come to know THE FATHER, when the time was right 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
We are going to have “Moments of Uncertainty”
But that is not as important as the element you use to relieve yourself. Many followers of Christ are still indulging in our vices and addictions to relieve our “Uncertainties”
Lean on God in your darkest moments, lean on the word that says you were created with meaning and purpose, lean on the Grace of God…let it steady your mind, your heart and your body.
I don’t know who I’m writing to, who’s reading this, but God is ready, and waiting for you to seek him, through Jesus Christ, whom he sent to die the death meant for you and I.
Not just on Sunday, not just when you “need” him, not just when you’re desperate…but every day, hour, minute and second of your life.
Develop consistency in Christ, and you will come to know what it means to “Be still, and know, that he is God”

He even invited everyone who had a VIP ticket backstage in a room to pray with him before the concert. He always fasts before a concert and on top of that, he is a very cool, humble guy

1st December 2024, I am here singing and thanking God. He alone deserves all the praise. 1 year from now, I will be here to still thank him for progress and specific answered prayers.
This song took me through 2022 when I was on the verge of dropping out of Varsity I remember how I used to come back after school when things seemed hopeless but this song would encourage me looking back I'm about to finish school this year and I'm in awe of how different things are now, all praise be to God
I have been through so much, but have been challenging myself to look for reasons to be grateful. Trusting God for the best job and a great salary, a proper place to stay and a car. I work in sales at the moment and with this economy things have been tough and well employers don't always understand. Please pray for me that there will be a shift from God in my life. God has seen me through so many times. Character traits like pride, arrogance, idolatry(that’s only a few) things in the word it says He hates yet He has always shown me His mercy and love. It’s mind blowing because I always felt like I had to earn my way to His love. But Romans 5:1 says “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. If you’re reading this and you’ve felt like you need to earn Gods love, know that He already loved you before you were born. And that Jesus’ blood covers all your sins, yes all of them. All He asks of you is to repent, and receive His sacrifice. Rest today knowing that He loves you and you don’t have to earn with Him, you only need receive His Peace and Love.

I’m currently in the hospital next to my 2 month old. He has a heart defect and caught a simple virus for others, but it knocked him off his feet. This would be my time to be angry and anxious, but THIS SONG was in my ear and spirit the moment I woke up next to my little guy. I still reverence you Jesus even in this moment.
