A dramatic ending that earns the audience's standing applause. Once again Pizza Flix that art deco logo draws our interest again.

Woww PF, as I think I've said before here, can you pick'em! Like the good thief on the cross, in his final moments he turns to the good.
What a soft, seroius beauty Martha was and the low voice with tonal quality that so many of these actresses had, terrific screen presence that it almost takes a bit into the movie to realize.
Sidney Blackmer another solid performance and powerful screen presence in all his rolls, equally a good or bad guy.
Not a big fan of Regis but when not silly, quite likable and the rest of the cast was perfect in support.
Golden Age of Hollywood? without doubt.
PS watched "For You I Die" last night with the beautiful Cathy Downs and Paul Langton in a dramatic story of hopelessness, romance and redemption. Downs' innocence, Langton's understated hopelessness and redemption and sincere love for her is very moving in this movie.
Cast terrific also with the old woman seeing the good in Langton and taking in in as a son. Remarkable.
Like I often say, I am a sucker for a good romance and that one had some power to it, "for you I die." he finally admits.
Great stuff. I'll copy this over there. Thx PF

This is the first movie that I've seen Mr. Toomey NOT play a cop/detective! He later played in "Burke's Law" in the 60s as, you guest it!

@ Denise Johnson. Regis played a locomotive engineer in Warner Brothers' 1931 railroad melodrama "Other Men's Women." James Cagney, still breaking in as a contract player, had a small part as an extra list engineer, before "Public Enemy" made him a star later that year.

At 1:08. Headline: "Stocks Skyrocket Skyward" What other way would they go if they're skyrocketing? Even the headline writer for this fictional newspaper is strictly Poverty Row!
