Shooting the FULL MOON in LONDON for 3 days in a row

  • Shooting any kind of full moon or supermoon especially over a big city is always the luck of the draw when it comes to weather. Also London's weather also doesn't have the best reputation out there. Having the luck of seeing the moon rise or set all the way from/to horizon for 3 days straight down here, is a true photography hattrick.
    0:10 Day 1 - Greenwich Park, moon setting inside London Eye
    1:15 Day 2 - London City Airport, planes landing/taking off through the moon
    3:03 Day 3 - Northala Fields, a proper vlog shoot
    4:55 Throwback to the moonrise from Northala Fields on the 24th September 2018
    9:31 The final moonrise

    Makes me happy to know I am obviously your lucky charm, having been there for all 3 absolute bangers! My original commentary on the plane landing will make history among our friends
    ☺️☺️☺️
    Cheers Michael, let's plan next shots! ☺️

      You definitely clearly must be my lucky charm, as three days in a row something like this is impossible especially in London. Oh that commentary 🤣was thinking if to include it or not, but decided not too😜let’s shoot again soon

      It’d be nicer without it, but still pretty pleased with the results, thanks Robert

    Super awesome shot. So impressive from that distance and the patience to wait for it and set up.

      Thanks Darren 😀 yeah it was fun to shoot and wait to see it actually happen compared to so many times I went, set up and got disappointed

    Many congrats on a successful hat-trick, I'm glad I was there for at least one 1/3 of the hat (I still think your thumbnail should've been a cheesy "moon with fedora", but hey, you have taste!). And "Chitty chat chat", had a good LOL at that one :-)

    • @LondonViewpoints
      @LondonViewpoints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad the added bits made you laugh, the 3rd was a great moon, was debating about other thumbnail option but this one was sort of simple so left it

    Finally watching your moon video 👀 and wow!🤯 I am blown away but the quality of the lens and cameras you used! These shots came out spectacular from so far away! Even on the last day with the scene being so dark, you were able to capture the city so perfectly 👌🏻

    • @LondonViewpoints
      @LondonViewpoints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot Katerine, yes that lens definitley can deliver, and with the right balance of setting even on a late moon rise at 5.6 the iso doesn’t have to be super high for achieving decent results, glad you enjoyed watching it😀

    Wow - what an awesome video and hatrick of Moon timlapse. It started off awesome and I thought it would be hard to beat, but you got some more amazing views / images / videos etc. The P1000 sure did deliver as well.
    Top work as always Michael - congrats

      @LondonViewpoints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Andrew, it was indeed an amazingly weather lucky three days, plus some good planning and things really went well. Yeah I keep on thinking if I should get the P1000 for myself again, maybe a used one even

    Your planning and execution of your timelapses really makes your work stand apart Michael, that moonset into the London Eye was phenomenal and the moonrise at the end was fabulous. Great work and congratulations on your work once again

    • @LondonViewpoints

      Thanks, often it’s a group effort, a few of us confirm our findings and then we’re somewhat sure that there’s a bigger chance of it going right, but the weather can still pull unexpected tricks on you last minute with clouds out of nowhere, but these three were ultra lucky

    Superb! i do a lot of North West full Moon mainly stills. what camera and settings do you use for the timelapse ?

    • @LondonViewpoints
      @LondonViewpoints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, usually 1s interval and 0.6” shutter which works on my body but some other cameras may not save as fast and this speed will cause your body to skip, so check that first
