    Are you saying there is a low pass filter built into The receiver for the rear speaker channels? So i could in theory connect small subwoofer speakers directly to the headunit without a power amplifier?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. That's correct. Nearly every modern Pioneer in-dash receiver, SPH-10BT included, is capable of operating a small subwoofer on the in-dash receiver's rear channel. Don't expect to pound nails through concrete with this small subwoofer. It won't. However if you want to operate a 4 ohm or one 2 ohm, 8 inch subwoofer from the rear channel it will work well. The Violet wire with White stripe labeled as Reverse Gear Signal Input let's the in-dash receiver know if the vehicle is in it's reverse gear or not. This automatically opens and closes the Parking Sensor window on the Pioneer Smart Sync app. The wire is commonly connected to the vehicle's Back Up Lamp. • @pioneerelectronics

      If you want to run a subwoofer in your vehicle, for best performance, I recommend to use a self powered subwoofer, or a subwoofer paired with an external amplifier. Pioneer offers many to choose from including the TS-WX1210AH seen here: th-cam.com/video/cI9SfaPFenA/w-d-xo.html or the GM-D8701 seen here: th-cam.com/video/-Uq25Goo0sU/w-d-xo.html paired with the TS-A3002d4 seen here: th-cam.com/video/AfxYsYFnzes/w-d-xo.html
      It is possible to run a small subwoofer directly from the rear speaker outputs on the in-dash receiver. However, I recommend no larger than 8 inch subwoofer seen here: th-cam.com/video/WkbRBGtW9yM/w-d-xo.html
      If you try to use a larger than an 8 inch sub you may be disappointed with the performance simply because the in-dash receiver's internal amplifier does not have enough power output to effectively operate a large subwoofer.
      In the initial Speaker/PO setup you can choose the Sub/Sub option. If this case you can run a 4 ohm subwoofer on either the rear right or rear left channel with no issues. You can run one 4 ohm subwoofer on the right and one 4 ohm subwoofer on the left at the same time. No problem. Please don't expect huge output. You won't get it.
      This changes when using 2 ohms.
      It's also possible to run 1 subwoofer wired at 2 ohms ( or 2 subwoofers each with 4 ohm impedance wired in parallel representing a 2 ohm circuit ) on the right rear channel, and leave nothing connected to the rear left channel
      Simply terminate the left rear channel properly so no wires or metal come into contact with the bare wires.
      This is explained in the installation manual on page 3, numbers 18 and 19.
      You can download the installation manual here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/SPH-10BT_InstallationManual021919.pdf

    Will it be possible to use just FM radio w/out smartphone?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please note: The Pioneer SPH-10BT is designed from the ground up to operate with a smart phone used as a remote control to operate the receiver. While it is possible to operate some functions of the AM/FM Tuner and USB music playback, without a smartphone connected for control, it becomes difficult to use without a phone. I strongly recommend to use the Pioneer SPH-10BT with a smartphone to control the receiver. If you are considering buying a new in-dash receiver, but don't always have a smartphone with your, a more traditional in-dash receiver may be a better choice for your particular application. Please consider the Pioneer MVH-S720BHS seen here: th-cam.com/video/FBck5BfCnXE/w-d-xo.html You can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend using the Initial Setting SP-PO Mode "REAR/SUB.W" This makes the rear RCA outputs Subwoofer Outputs and it keeps the Rear Speaker level outputs as full range speaker outputs. Use the Rear RCA outputs from the in-dash receiver to send the signal to the subwoofer under the seat. You can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To clarify, please be more specific with your question. I think you have it correct, but maybe made a typo in your question with "L RCA outputs" ? For a setup with front speakers and a subwoofer, I recommend to use the receiver's FRONT RCA outputs both Right and Left to send signal to the amplifier operating the front speakers. Additionally, I recommend to use the in-dash receiver's Rear/SW RCA outputs, both Right and Left to operate the under seat subwoofer. In the receiver's SP/PO setup menu , I recommend to use the Ful/SUB setting. This will give you a subwoofer control from the in-dash receiver. How to save the audio setting? Is that autosave if I turn off the power? Because, my sph10bt is auto reset if I turn off the power and car. FYI I didn't use the sync app, I just make an audio setting on the head unit.

    • @deckerdotto6035

      If the system resets each time your turn off the car, you may have the in-dash receiver wired incorrectly. Please focus on the Red Wire and the Yellow Wire. Do Not connect red and yellow together. Red is for ignition. Yellow is for constant power for memory functions like radio station presets and audio settings. There are no settings to change the commands of the steering wheel controls on the Pioneer SPH-10BT. In most applications, mapping steering wheel controls is done when you program the 3rd party steering wheel control adapter to work with your particular vehicle. Please clarify, do you have the Australian version of the receiver, SPH-C10BT? Or do you have the North American version of the receiver SPH-10BT and you are using it in Australia? If the receiver resets each time you start the vehicle, the receiver may be installed incorrectly. Please focus on the receiver's Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire operates the receivers clock and needs to have constant power from the vehicle, even when the vehicle is switched off. Do not connect Yellow and Red together. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver in this video: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html Please be sure your receiver has the latest firmware installed. If you have the Australian SPH-C10BT You can find it here: www.pioneer.com.au/shop/car/sph-c10bt/
      I recommend to press the receivers microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button behind the detachable face near the center of the receiver.
      After you press the microprocessor reset button, I recommend to delete all phones from the in-dash receiver's Bluetooth Memory. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/drZ3Uphj26M/w-d-xo.html
      Next delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's Bluetooth Memory.
      Next, restart the phone.
      After the phone restarts, I recommend to delete the Pioneer Smart Sync App from your phone, and then download and install a fresh copy of the app. Next begin the phone pairing process from the beginning. Please be more specific with your question. It's normal operation for the receiver to shut down when you press and hold the SRC button.

      @@pioneerelectronics thanks for the answer!
      But sadly, at 00:30 you press and hold Source and it doesnt turn off. Mine does completely turn black, pressing Source a second time it turns on again.

      @@yiggawhat If you have the Pioneer Smart Sync app installed on your phone, and operating, what you are describing is normal operation for the receiver. The message that appears in the video states to download the app and connect it to the receiver. If you have done this, you should not see the message at 0:30 seconds.
      This video was made in 2019 with an earlier version of the receiver firmware. The message that appears with the latest firmware may be different.
      Be sure to update your Pioneer SPH-10BT to the latest firmware. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Digital+Media+Receivers/SPH-10BT#downloads

      If your clock and radio stations reset each time you start your vehicle your in-dash receiver may have an improper connection for the Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire must have constant power from the vehicle. The Red Wire is for accessory. Do not connect the Red Wire and Yellow Wire together. Please take a look at this video for more information on wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html Please be sure to install the latest firmware for your Pioneer SPH-10BT. Deckard!
    I have a coup!e of questions on the parking sensors and the sph-bt10 in general:
    Can I really not paint the sensors? I'm not really happy about having 4 black circles on my iron grey metallic rear bumper. I see there are loads of painted sensors available on eBay with various paint finishes. Is it really going to affect the sensors that much with a couple of layers of primer and paint?
    What happens if one of the sensors fails? Can I replace the sensor with another after market item? The sensors that Pioneer provides, seem to use a common 2 pin connector that every other sensor uses. Do you know if these would work?
    I notice the Pioneer Smart sync app recently had an update in Feb 2021. Am I right in thinking that it now can use Google assistant and Siri and not just Alexa as was previously only possible?
    I'm a bit worried about this 'purple/white' wire that needs connecting that isn't mentioned in the manual that comes for the Pioneer dear parking sensors. Apparently, without this connection, the Sph-10bt will not work properly with the sensors. Will this purple/white wire be long enough to reach from the receiver to the back of my saloon vehicle's reversing brake wires in order to make the connection, or will I have to solder on another wire to extend the length?
    Do you think an amendment needs to be made to the manual, to mention this previously, undisclosed information about the purple/white wire maybe? I only heard about this from searching on the internet and finding out from others who had this issue.
    Lastly, do you know what other features we have in store for the smartsync app and the Sph-10bt in general?
    Thanks!👍

      You can apply what we call a “skim coat“ to the sensors. These are aluminum sensors, as all ultrasonic parking sensors are. A skim coat simply means a very thin coat which will approximate the color of your bumper. You can also sand off the color that they come with and just have raw aluminum sensors. I do that for certain vehicles.
